What ideas do you have for this?!
I have been a "DIY Planner" for almost 9 years, but I was always afraid to do it in a bound book because I made so many mistakes! I used a disc-bound notebook from Levenger for years, but now that I have "found my groove," I am ventured out into a bound-book because they are so much more compact and easier to carry around! I still want to go smaller, though, so will be trying out Field Notes in 2025, but I will likely carry 3-4 at a time in a leather cover, so I can section it out to meet my needs. One thing I always keep in my planners is Family Contact Information (because I can never remember street numbers and zip codes, and sometimes need it to fill out forms), Prescription Medication List with websites and/or phone numbers for ordering refills, List of Birthdays with Gift Ideas, and contact information for Medical Professionals and Health Insurance Claims/Customer Service. As always, love your content! Practical and concise!
Thanks! Glad you found your groove!
I love this because I have really wanted to integrate faith/sermon notes with my planning because it is something I look at and reference every day. And I want everything in one book. So I dug out my day free which already has the months in the front and am going to use it. I became so burdened and burned out on trying so many different planners this year. I really want simplicity. This is perfect.
Awesome!
Terrific. Thanks for sharing. Also it's neat to see a husband & father sharing planner/goals tips.
Thank you!
This is why I love my Traveler’s Notebook. I can have separate inserts for daily journaling, annual lists, and long term lists so that I don’t have to migrate content I want to keep handy when the year is over or I run out of pages.
Ahhh very cool!
If you liked Atomic Habits, there's another book that extends this idea in a very practical way. It's called elastic habits and it's fantastic for consistency. I hope you'll check it out. Loved this video. Thanks for posting.
I'll check it out, thanks!
The pilot G-2 .38 is what got me into pens, and the fine point pens themselves. Highly HIGHLY recommend the Uniball 207 ultra micro.
Nice! Will check it out.
I think for people who actually draw out their own planner structure- just that act, before actually putting their plan into the planner, helps them to visualize and do that pre fontal cortex executive function planning.
well said
Genius!! I have several beautiful journals that I can turn into planners!! I love it, and I love the idea of Journaling on the right page, and if you run out of room, you write on the back page! Thank you for sharing!!💜
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
I also decided to create my own custom calendar/journal, but I went the route of creating a digital version to use on my iPad in Good Notes. Regardless the technology, setting it up for your own preferences is a great approach. Thank you for sharing your setup.
You bet! 👍
Love the layout!, this has been my Achilles heal. I am a noob and journaling, have tried so many methods and I’ve over complicated the layouts which has detracted from keeping a method. Thank you!
Thanks, glad you found it helpful!
I love this. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
This is such a great setup. I am thinking about the extra categories I might add. One thing I also want to track better this year is my family’s wellness - dental, vision, medications, medical history, allergies, etc. thanks Carsonial!
Thanks, I'm sure your family will appreciate you having that information handy!
I enjoy your videos! The content appeals to me and I like your presentation. Informative and relaxing.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
What a great idea! Thank you.
You bet!
Thank you. I think this will work well for me.
Awesome!
Brilliant setup! 😊
Thanks!
This is a great setup, i love it❤ could you name some examples for systems you would need to reach goals? Is it like habits? Thank you.
Hey! So an example would be: Goal = lose 10 lbs, System = Go to gym M, T, W, Th. The systems provide the framework to make the goal happen. If you have not read Atomic Habits I highly recommend it! The link for the book is in the video description. He explains that success is the product of daily habits, and we become our habits. Habits form based on frequency, not time. Small habits compound. I have also made a couple of videos on setting and achieving goals if you want to check them out. Thanks for the comment!
@Carsonial thank you so much for your response, i will definitely check out the suggested videos!
Great idea. I really adding the savings goal tracker. Since your planner/journal has multiple sections, I was wondering, what are your thoughts on traveler's notebooks? I've used them in the past. I like them, but sometimes I find them a little bulky to take with me on a daily basis.
Not a big fan of the traveler's, prefer pocket sized notebooks like field notes. But to each his own. I tell people use what makes you happy!
Really great ideas; thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome, glad you liked it!
Thank you. I would like to do this too.
Give it a shot!
Thanks for making this follow up video. I too began my journalling search by finding something that could combine productivity and faith. You give some great tools here. Does your journaling items ever make it into your digital world? (notes app, calendar, tasks, etc.)
Hey thanks for the comment! The ONLY thing I really use digitally is the notes app on iPhone, but rarely use it. I just like good ol pen & paper!
I love your channel and your ideas! Thank you😊
Thank you! 😊
This is a great idea! Thanks! Blessings
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
I can’t even get my husband to use a notebook! Well done 👍
Thanks!
I'm curious as to what you specifically journal. i.e. daily happenings, news, thoughts, feelings, etc.??
It's mostly just my thoughts, happenings, events, just whatever really! I put my sermon notes from church too.
@@CarsonialAre you nervous to carry this outside of your home?
@@misswinnie4.8 Nah, I throw it in my laptop bag and take it with me everyday.
Hey, Nice ideas! Don’t you miss an index?
Nah, I know where it’s all at😎
Niceee
Thanks 🤗
Hi from Germany, I like this set up and I will try it in a notebook in a5 size. Do you write your daily to do's in this little field notebook?
I put things in this planner on the calendar days. I do enjoy the pocket planner for week to week things as well.
Great content. But, geez that moleskine paper gets worse by the day.
Ya I noticed this one has a little more bleed, but also using gel pen vs ballpoint. I’ve had really good luck with Moleskine for the most part.
Great video but I don’t like (respectfully, you do you 😊) the notebook you are using as the pen ghosting through the paper looks awful to me. People want different things out of their notebooks and not getting distracted by what’s on the next page is high on my list. I have an A4 folder (lever clip, not rings) that I can insert printed monthly calendars, weekly overview sheets, financial trackers, and other things as needed. Because they are printed templates I imagine I save a lot of time in not having to draw them out into a notebook. Is mine a notebook? No, but it is highly personalised and has space for journaling, to dos, and other personal and professional needs and isn’t that what everyone is ultimately seeking from a notebook really?
Yep, best to do whatever works for you! I enjoy drawing the stuff out. Thanks for the comment!
