I am truly grateful for finding this video! I accidentally damaged my SZ last year by plugging the xlr's into an old console that had phantom activated on all the channels. Every single technician, basically scammers, wanted to make me pay for a mainboard replacement that costed A LOT of money, I knew that the problem was in the audio output board 'cause everything else was working perfectly and now I know I can save all that money by doing it all by myself, thank u so much man!
First, thank you for posting this. I literally bought a brand new laptop thinking that was the problem. I did have my phantom power on while playing on my Behringer 4 channel mixer(how was I to know not to use it?). I noticed I didn't have sound issues when I used my other mixer(with no phantom power). I will follow your advise and replace the sound card.
Thank you for this clip I ordered the new part and changed to the new one now I am back and sounding great… the only question I ask is now that I have the new sound card do I need to worry about the phantom power issue or is that not problem since I have changed the sound card
Hey man. I have a ddj sx. I have distortion coming through the master and also the headphones..... But only when the cue is on and the headphone cue volume dial is turned up past around 11oclock.. but if I cut the low frequency the distortion seems to go away. Do you think it could be some bad capacitors on a board? I have traced 2 suspect looking capacitors on the soundboard area which are meant to be 25v 47uf capacitors bit they are actuslly 35v 47u capacitors, looks like someone has changed them already. Maybe they used the wrong type?
Great tech video Question spilled fluid in sz2 pitch (L) fader and on jog put fan on it for few days few months later both pitch fader sparks and controller power dims sound fades or increases on occasion even after p-faders both where replaced. Is this a diy or should I send directly to Pioneer for repair. Instead of a certified Pioneer repair who could not detect any issues.
I noticed that the replacement you did is for DDJ SZ2, but the card you installed was the DWX3537 time 13:32. The links you provided Pioneer SZ1 link goes to the DWX3537 and the other link SZ2 shows DWX3769. I guess my question would be does it matter which part goes to the SZ1 or SZ2?
Ive been replacing the XLR output capacitors, 4 of them for $5 on amazon. That's all that fails. You can see the tops will have a dome shape or will be leaking. SZ, SZ2, SX, 1000SRT. All different values but same issue.
Got the same issue but I don’t wanna order that if it’s not the same thing you went through I’ll get a distortion on the speakers and headset sounds weird I switch speakers it’s not the speakers
i use DDJ-SZ2 with VDJ, whenever i use the software alone at home, and even if the the channel meter reaches red during some highs in some songs, it sounds completely normal. However; if the DDJ-SZ2 is connected and i see red meter in one of the channels, the sound starts to be glitchy in the master and in the headphones as if you can hear electricity spikes with each clipping that happens. any one facing the same? any advice?

Both sound cards are identical and works on both sz and sz2 without any issues. You can't tell the difference. I've tested both.

When it is going bad does it send a spike through the sound board and light up the LED pads
