  • The Detroit Pistons hired Trajan Langdon as their new President of Basketball Operations. He will oversee the front office and give the Pistons a new direction. Plus, Matas Buzelis and Kyle Filipowski lead the way for the 5th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. In this video I go over all the Pistons most recent news, then give my thoughts.

Nobody knows what to do in 2024. It’s going to be a train wreck for the majority of these GM’s. There might be one or two teams that make out well; and those lucky teams will probably strike gold outside the lottery.

Yeah @mbwell, GM's are definitely trying to survive until 2025 when the draft is stacked. I'm sure front offices are helping the narrative that this draft is awful, so they won't look bad when these guys don't pan out. 🧨💥

Taking most of these players at 5 is a REACH. Trajan has even mentioned before that if a player is selected in the top 5, THEY HAVE TO BE WORTH IT.... If someone doesn't slide out of the top pick, I'd hope we trade down.
Trade down and get another top 20 pick to get two players out of the top 20. I don't think one player is going to be enough.
Worst case you end up with Cody Williams and Filipowski.

I disagree Detroit doesn't need 2 more 19 year olds to develop. That was the biggest issues last year. No good vets in the room to settle the team down.

Matas, Flip, Knecht, and Da Silva all look like good players. So, I'm getting more excited about this draft. 🧨💥

I want to trade down so bad. Everyone 10-30 fits way better than anybody in the top 10. 3&D Prospects I like are Tristan DaSilva, Kyle Filipowski, Tyler Kolek, Jaylon Tyson, the list goes on. Dalton Knecht is probably the best guy you can get if they decide to keep the pick imo though.
If you're going for 3&D then DaSilva and Tyson are my favorites as both are forwards who can create their own shots, drive, kick, and shoot the 3.
If you like the Reed Shephard approach, then I would go Tyler Kolek or even flirt with Filipowski as a stretch 4/5 for the extra playmaking.

Trade Duran, the 5th pick, and a future 1st for Ingram and the Pelicans 21st pick and trade Ivey, Beef Stew, and the 21st pick from New Orleans for Jeremy Grant, then sign Nic Claxton and Malik Monk in free agency along with re-signing our very own Simone Fontecchio the Italian Stallion. Along with Ausar, Sasser, and a couple more contributors on your second unit this team suddenly looks like a serious Eastern Conference playoff contender with a chance to play in the Conference Finals. Wtbs we'll be some dawgs offensively and defensively.
