this is my few early build when I'm back 2 yrs ago. I've been absent for almost 20 yrs for this passion of mine and unfamiliar already from the latest tech now regarding of this hobby, thanks to the youtube scale model builders now that's a lot of them I've subscribed and slowly I was able catched up with some technics & style on how to learn more about this thing. Only the problem I'm facing normaly money on how to sustain this love of work. No means of income as a grumpy one, only my wife and children are the one keep on sponsoring my passion. I love this work of art and I salute all the modelers local & internationals. God bless us all.
I do like the Trumpy F-100. I'm nearly done with an F in markings like Dean Cutshall's (actually Francis Gabreski's) Hun out of Fort Wayne and just got the C so I can do George Laven's very colorful bird. The two things I don't like about the kits are the cockpit (I feel Monogram's is nicer) and the pebbly surface texture which makes a highly polished bird more difficult which is easy on a super smooth Monogram Hun. The biggest drawback of the Monogram kit is the way it has a separate tail cone and the seam down each side. The Trumpeter kit is worlds away better in the way the major parts are broken down. Even being able to attach the wings after painting and decaling. I do wonder if we'll ever see a 1/48 A2J Savage from them after the Skywarrior and Vigilante?
Congrats. for your skilled modelling !!! My only crticism, is that I think the burnt steel of the rear fuselage is too dark. I have seen that in the real planes, and it is not so dark.!!!
you're right Sir, I've done that due to some problem in my materials, your comment is much appreciated and serve also as guide for my next projects, thanks.
Mine came with decals for the instrument panel and the side of the cockpit. I am building a Trumpeter 1:48 scale F model. Did yours come with the decals?
Does anyone notice that Trumpeter 1/48 F100 is too big for a real 1/48 planes ? Compare to my Revell F4E, the F100 has the same lenght , although in real life it is 4m shorter than the F4. It is much more larger then aircaft kit in different kit with similar size , like Academy Mirage 3 or Revell Mig21
Question what color did you use to paint the aft part of the plane that supposed to be “burnt iron” I did it on my trumpeter f model f100 and it came out wayyyyy to dark
Ha ha ha... thanks my friend, I've never noticed it, until now still in the cockpit, for two years you're the only one noticed it, only now I remove it. thank you very much and stay safe always.
Sir hi, why did you paint the interior of the leading edge Slats Green or light Blue, it should be Red, correct me if I am wrong ?? An awesome looking model.
I was also curious about that color on the leading edge slats. It actually looks close to the metallic blue/green color used in the avionics bays of F-15 Eagles. The Air Force actually painted flap and slat interior surfaces white, light grey, or metallic. A point of interest here. The Montana Air National Guard had the cockpits of their F-106 Delta Darts painted this light blue/green color. I think they had a Russian MiG on that base, and really liked that color in the cockpit.
To describe this "review" as a "Full build" is at best a misrepresentation. No discussion of paints, glues, build method or any details of the process or problems encountered. VERY UNSATISFACTORY.
sorry Clark, this is my early videos that I'm only experimenting that's why no description or explaination ever done before. Thanks for your comment, very much appreciated.

I have the same exact one as you

The actual metal was stainless steel in that area that had heat marks from use. The actual exhaust is titanium.
Mine came with decals for the instrument panel and the side of the cockpit. I am building a Trumpeter 1:48 scale F model. Did yours come with the decals?
I think they haven't got the shape accurate on this one , just looks awkward , very nice job from you though
How was the build experience? any fit issues at all?
Very well done!
Thanks, friend.

you're right, my friend, thanks for the info, in real, Phantom about 19m while the F-100 only 15m.
Did you use aftermarket parts or out of the box
Great job! What kind of chemical-substance or product did you add on the decals at time "8:42" ?
Question what color did you use to paint the aft part of the plane that supposed to be “burnt iron” I did it on my trumpeter f model f100 and it came out wayyyyy to dark
Yes it should be be burnt Iron H-76, but during the built I'm of stock so I tried the copper chrome metal but it turned out to be dark.
aluminum paint is tamiya flat aluminum acrylic paint? i want know you used that paint
you're right my friend, thanks.
The piece of masking tape left on the cockpit is on purpose ?
Ha ha ha... thanks my friend, I've never noticed it, until now still in the cockpit, for two years you're the only one noticed it, only now I remove it. thank you very much and stay safe always.
@@ArdeconHobby You're welcome 😉
Question: what paints were used on the finish, and what type of overcoat was used to get the flat look? Many thanks!
I've just used the 009 Gaia bright silver & Tamiya XF-86 Flat clear Sir. for wash the Tamiya panel line color black.
@@ArdeconHobby Is this hard to bulid? I want to get into model aircraft building so I am wondering if this kit would be difficult for beginners.
Lol i never heared about the f-100 before... was it a prototype or so?🤔
@Aidan Evans ohh ok thanks!👍😅
It is my understanding that the F 100C did not have flaps, they were introduced on the D model.

Kairasp Daruwala
Only the U.S.Navy and U.S.Marines do that.
I have seen those, in the real, and they dont have any color inside the slats.!!!
You're right Sir, thanks for reminding me it's really a mistake.

@@ArdeconHobby Any chance of an updated review and FULL BUILD of the Trumpeter F-100???
@@clarkfarrell5513 sure, my friend it'll be soon, thanks.
