I would say Dwight Howard is an example, but he stayed because he could rebound and was still tall.
You could say the same for Roy Jones, who probably at his peak was the greatest athlete in boxing history. But once his athletic ability started to disapate and he always had some bad technique it became more noticeable. Bernard Hopkins was always sound technically and didn't rely on athletic ability so he could still be an effective boxer, in his 40s.

Wilder did land some clean right hands on Zhang, but they didn't seem to hurt Zhang too much, so need to give Zhang some credit for having a chin.
My belief is that Wilder didn’t have any power behind his punches due to the fact he came in so much lighter than Zhang-a-lang.

He lost his confidence in the first fight when fury got up from that kill shot.
Honestly he's just not a great boxer. He was a great puncher, but he never added a great skill set. He was too dependent on what got him to the top and was content.

Wilder's power is a gift and a curse. He started boxing late in life but because of his power he was able to accomplish winning a bronze medal and a world championship. But because of his power he never felt the need to work on boxing fundamentals and techniques. So when his power failed him he had nothing else to rely on. And that was clearly on display tonight!

I’ve been a fan of Deontay Wilder since 2012 and have followed his career closely. The one thing I respect about Wilder is that he will absolutely fight anyone who challenges him. Despite him losing 4 out of his last 5 bouts, he’s a true warrior. If Wilder has 3 more top tier fights and wins them, everybody will be back on the Wilder train talking about his great right hand. Much respect to the Bronze Bomber. 🥊
Dudes done. He was one of the most overrated heavy weight in history . In fact most of this big guy Era was overrated. , joshua, fury, and wilder were all overrated . But wilde was the king of overrated
@@Devin6424...Wilder is not overrated. Wilder is a small skinny heavyweight. Wilder just lost to a power puncher that had him outweighed by 50lbs. People not understanding, Wilder was in for more than he can chew from jump. He need to stop taking fights that's pass a certain weight limit. Especially while trying to build his confidence back up.

the lights go out to protect you from further punishment. once you get knocked out, it becomes way easier to get knocked out again because your brain knows what coming and wants to shut off faster for maximum protection. so when people say your chin is gone, it's really your brain smartening up.
