    Kind of hard to believe she's 19 years-old here. She looks really mature.

    I remember watching these interviews and being like “wow she’s amazing. She’s come so far”, but even in this interview she was still using. I’m so happy that she’s now 5 years sober and that she’s taking care of her eating disorder. ❤️

      You guys in the comments are horrible. You think you're cool because a 16 year old boy can have these issues and say that he cried watching this? Like you've never cried. Freaking egotistical assholes. Grow a brain and fuck off.

      Really? Guys have feelings too, they are humans and they are allowed to cry. You are no one to judge him. This is a serious topic & the fact that he felt something over this is incredible. Plus he said it on the internet, that my friend makes him have balls that you don't have.

    • @TheGlittra
      @TheGlittra 10 лет назад +63

      What does pretty have to do with getting bullied? You can get bullied for any kind off shitty reasons no matter how pretty you are. It's not like pretty people are immune and "ugly" people aren't. The source for bullying does not come from the one getting bullied, it comes from the one(s) doing the bullying.

    • @Tbaribone1115
      @Tbaribone1115 9 лет назад +7

      TheGlittra True, but I think it's ridiculous how bullies think they can get away with injustice such as picking on someone's looks, race, jealousy or whatever. She had her issues, but you can't help but admire her for fighting her way through it. This is why I like Demi because she's humble and she's one of the few Disney Channel stars that didn't go off the deep end after leaving. At least to my knowledge. xD

      Using violence against violence isn't the way to go lol. Whether you were joking or not, you shouldn't make threats to people even if they can't see the comment. Don't mean to lecture or anything :P And in general, I know ppl say rude or mean comments is inevitable on youtube, but people can and should lessen it. Don't follow the crowd in promoting this form of violence and threats.

I use to do things that I should of never done, and it breaks my heart when I hear such a pretty girl like Demi, had to go through horrible things like this!! It's crazy that a lot of us that go through bullying, find a way to cope with it by doing bad things, and feel like you should just give up, even though you never should!!! "ok so you were bulimic, is that right? anorexic too or just bulimic?"
    "That started the cutting right? You cut yourself, because you felt so badly about yourself?"
    I get this is an interview, but those questions sounded just so..blunt, like no big deal, out her so harsh, and it's almost like Ellen craves negative topics.
    How about "Lets talk about your recovery with eating disorders and self harm..." rather than that other bullshit.

    I don't get why people bullied her. I guess it was because she was a whole lot better than all those low life people that were bullying her. I'm glad she is famous now because many people adore and love her and the people that bullied her are not famous and they should not be ever. I have been bullied. I just don't let it get to me at all. I almost ended up getting into a fight because some people just don't know who I am now. Then I used to be kinda week, and now the people that hurt me are afraid of me because I let them know that I wasn't afraid of them. I stood up for myself and I'm glad that the people that hurt and bullied me are now afraid of me because I, me personally can get real aggressive and I don't let anyone hurt me. They tell me something I'll tell them something back. They hit my I make sure it is the last time they hit me. If I do see someone else getting bullied I would stand up for them. People that bully are inconsiderate ass' and I'm not going to let them stop me from that I can accomplish.

    She was bullied in high school and she fell into a deep depression. Now she speaks out against bullying and so do I. Bullying is a major problem in this country and it needs to be stopped.

    i don't know how, but everytime i watch one of these videos about demi i start my homework or just schoolwork right after.. i think it's because she have put so much work into coming where she is today and being happy so i realize that i need to get higher grades to study music and hopefully be a musician one day. demi inspires me in so many more ways than just this, and she's helped me through a lot. demi is my #1 rolemodel of all times. thank you so incredibly much.

    Ellen is the only talk show host I know who speaks intelligently, objectively and fairly about mental illness, drug/alcohol-related problems and other health issues. No offense to the other liberally-minded talk show hosts, I just have only seen hateful bigots use and try to shame mentally-ill persons on their show.

    Demi Lovato is such an inspiration to me not only because she is talented in what she does, but because of her back story as well. I am 15 and I have gone through the same things as her and just listening to her music and even watching this interview shows me that life is worth living and that there is good in everyone no matter what anyone says. Everyone is perfect in their own way and no one should be picked on for what people may consider their "flaws". I think everyone should love each other because we all are so amazing and I would love to thank Demi for what all she does because she is truly my role model & if I were to ever meet her one day I'd probably bawl my eyes out. I love her!! She is the absolute best.

    So what if she's a bit chubby or what ever,to use that as an excuse for all her issues is ludicrous.Alot of people with real issues are not as messed up as she is,i think she just has a really low self esteem of herself,thats her issue & not the bullying she's going on about,she comes out fake as far as im concerned.

      kudos7777 I respect your opinion but if she wasn't bullied as bad as she was, her self esteem wouldn't be as low. Like she said, she had a lot of friends and then the bullying happened and they all left which made her think something was wrong with her. I was bulllied for 4 years so i know what she is talking about. She had bipolar disorder which is a real serious issue espicially if you are depressed like she was. I hope you respect my opposing opinion because i respect yours :)

      Candy Cane In today's society we try to blame other people for our problems to avoid responsibility & celebrities like her are the worst culprits. As people we all have issues so imagine if we all resorted to substance abuse or whatever vice then later bitch about how its at disease coz that's what they're calling it now.

    i am so incredibly sickened by the overall sexism the entertainment industry has, particularly women.
    i know demi lovato is only one person, but she used her opportunity to highlight mental health issues very poorly, and in a sexist manner.
    majority of people who commit suicide are male. majority of people with mental health issues are male. majority of people bullied in their formative years
    of education and throughout are male. majority of people who self harm are male.
    stop pushing the female agenda. there are so many groups already existing, with big celebrity names behind them for women, and very few for men.
    because of people like demi lovato, who leave the male set completely unadressed, men do not feel comfortable to express their emotional or mental health problems,
    because they don't feel it's normal because of what society around them are saying and the non conversation that exists. this obviously only hurts men more.
    i am an actual feminist, unlike many who want to demonize men, or perpetuate female media, i believe both genders are equal.
    ITS TIME THE CONVERSATION BECAME EQUAL. MENTAL HEALTH RIGHTS FOR MEN, AND NOT JUST THE HOMOSEXUAL ONES, HETEROSEXUAL MEN ALSO HAVE FEELINGS
    AND PROBLEMS, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON EARTH.

      +Matthew McManus I don't really see how she made her story sexist. She's a woman, she's going to do it from a woman's point of view. You can't say she did anything poorly because she shares her story and tries to help all genders not just girls. She helped me and my brother. She's tried very hard and has multiple charities.

    • @dresdendollsx
      @dresdendollsx 8 лет назад

      Ariel Tindle she didn't mention men once is how it's sexist.she then went on to discuss mental health in general, and only how it affects women, acting as though men don't have problems also. in what context has she 'tried hard'? other than writing emotionally manipulative songs about a time in her life 10+ years ago?
      you do realize that charities aren't in it to be charatible right? they make shit tonnes of money and less than 2% of dontated funds actually reach their 'targeted' recipients. money goes to advertising and marketing, paying staff, taxation (most are actually listed as business') and others before 'helping'. the money that does go into 'help' is generally payment to another organization, who in turn have to spend money on advertising, staff etc. in other words.. they get paid for nothing.
      to think charities are good people is naive. the salvation army uses their profits to fund westboro baptist and anti gay organizations. cancer fund of america admits to only giving >1% as well as Operation Lookout National Center for Missing Youth $18.2 million per annum is donations, $14.7 million paid to staff and 0.0% actually given to helping people, meaning the head of the company profits 3.5million a year by actively not helping.

    • @tkarmy3
      @tkarmy3 8 лет назад +1

      Seems like you did your research but as soon as you help people with things other than your judgmental opinions, you should really not judge other people. Demi Lovato is one person and she may not have brought up men or boys but I know she has helped some in many ways. Like I said before, she's a woman and she's going to do it from a woman's POV.

    • @tkarmy3
      @tkarmy3 8 лет назад

      +Matthew McManus I understand your point but if you were trying hard to do something and may forget to bring up another gender or anything that people might find important, would you want someone to literally shame you in RUclips comments?

    • @dresdendollsx
      @dresdendollsx 8 лет назад +2

      Ariel Tindle sure would. it's a cop out and your explanation is a cop out. she's a woman therefore she can only talk about women is why women in general and feminism are mocked. if people can't think outside of their own world or own experiences and do things to hurt others unintentionally, that is the definition of a psychopath, if she knows she's actively contributing to the culuture in which men can't be forthright with their mental health issues then she's a sociopath.
      i'm not going to bother with this conversation anymore, it's clear you're not interested in equality or talking about mental health appropriately on a large scale but instead are more worried about a singer you enjoys public image, which isn't being tarnished by something as simple as youtube comments.
