That was no press conference. It was an EU rally and the Luxembourg PM was laying a trap which Boris was too smart to be caught in. Very low tactics from the EU are obvious from this and the ridiculous claims that we need written words to understand what the UK is talking about.
Sometimes I think that I am drunk and I imagine all these things that take place in England of 2019...I thought that it is a serious country. I thought that politics is a serious business, this is like -across the pond- a kind of reality show...this is the sad final chapter of the UK before it's dissolution.
The EU is lying....they try to look good but they, in the long run, will have vast spoils from the dissolved UK...in reality they don't have an incentive to have a deal. They will get the whole of Ireland, Scotland, the car industry, a huge chunk of the financial sector that now is based -still-in London, the 100 trillion euro-denominated derivatives market, shipping, other major industries...UK will become a scrapyard, it will privatize NHS under the orders of the USA, they will become a protectorate of the former colony, all these guys like Arron Banks, Rees-Mogg and their backers will become trillionaires from the massive privatizations and the land-buyback and finally after looting England they will return to the EU as England...the top tier of Brexiteers will benefit enormously by destroying their country and selling it to the Americans. Those who will lose their jobs and dignity are the poor people who voted Brexit thinking that they get their country back...it is so obvious that the cheerleaders of Brexit are deceiving the public, I cannot imagine how people cannot see it....first of all I cannot understand how English people talk about unelected rulers while they have a high-paying nothing-doing monarchy....
Yeørgo C. Awgérnos With No Deal, the UK will be weaker, it will get worst deals from everyone: EU, USA, China, etc. You don’t give the good deals to weak nations ... that was the whole point of the EU. Boris is squandering whatever little bit of leverage was left; and I agree that Brexiteers like Farage are in a glorious position to make ££££ from this exercise which will crush the common man.
You are right....I don't really see the EUropeans as liars, but certainly they don't openly admit how much they would like to see -justifiably- the UK crashing out, because its own arrogance, elitism and exceptionalism. EUropeans repeat "it is sad day and we feel sorry" but in reality the game is on their side. They have lots of spoils to gain: financial sector relocation, car industry, Scotland, NI all and more are going to be the spoils from Brexit....the UK faces break-up, demise of its economy and final dissolution. Correctly, as you mention a weak nation can have little leverage with superpowers including the USA either Trump or someone else is president. Here there are no friendships, it is about size...a small fish like England has no leverage with China, USA, India etc...this is what the Brexiteers are missing. In case they revoke Brexit however, as Swinson proclaims, it will appear like nothing happened and EU will have the entitled British again on the table demanding, blackmailing and lobbying American interests; would you like to see it happening?
@@hasselnttper3730 No matter the reasons... PMs don't run away from people... or at least that's my opinion ofcourse. In my opinion an election will sort this out. I just hope that the UK will come out stronger and not weaker whatever their #brexit decision is in the end.
I live in Luxembourg and am quite embarrassed by the treatment of the UK Prime Minister. 75 hecklers were enough to ruin a press conference. The prime minister of Luxembourg probably thought he was looking cool by humiliating Johnson in his absence, but he looked a bit petty to me.
BJ embarrassed himself, by not showing up to the conference. In the whole video you see people who were shouting " let the prime minister speak " the moment Xavier started his speech. They would have done the same for the brit prime minister, actually I think bj embarrassed the luxembourgish Authorities by running away and not respecting the whole concept of the summit.... so for the luxembourgish PM it was the right decision not to be the embarrassed himself, so xavier made clear that bojo is not transparent at all, not willing of speaking in front of his people/ voters living in Luxembourg....so he showed us what boris is and have already been before a liar & coward.... and that's fair on a political point of view. ..
Very perceptive to realise that Johnson has been stitched up. Just as he was stitched up by Merkel a couple of weeks back when Merkel proposes that the onus be on Johnson to produce a concrete solution within 30 days. And Johnson seemed delighted (even though he hadn't a clue about how to produce a solution in such a timeframe. Now how can it be that he is stitched up so often? Lack of experience, stupidity, gullibility, a focus on form and communication rather than substance? A combination of all those things? I'm sorry, but it's about time you too saw through Johnson.
Michael Ashworth - criticising him for his action / perceived inaction is one thing. Criticism for today’s events can’t really be justified I don’t think. This is just anti Boris rhetoric like the “lying”.

Can’t you see what’s going on here? Boris doesn’t want a deal - he has the other 85% of the world to trade with. Once the collapsing EU see the UK going its own way and succeeding, whilst they sink into recession and scramble to find the billion a month deficit that the UK used to donate, they’ll come back to the table and beg for free trade with UK.

It turns out that the the wealth that the UK has lost due to the devaluation of the Pound Stirling since the Brexit vote, is more than the total contributions that the UK has made to the EU, since it joined the EEC on 1 January 1973. Well done Brexiteers. Perhaps we could recoup the money by taking £350 million per week from the NHS, a similar idea to what was written on Boris and Nigel''s Bus.

This is highly disrespectful and shameful of the Luxembourg PM. I look forward to not being bound into a union with people such as this.

Johnson, you can get that backstop scrapped in a heartbeat, all you have to do is come up with one of your many alternative solutions you said you had.
Tell this guy to ask his question then shutup and let her answer it without him butting in before she finishes. He did it on almost every question. Supremely annoying and incompetent if getting her answer is what you are after. Clearly not, in his case.
Johnson is excellent at manipulating his appearance. You could never tell how privileged his upbringing was by his appearance. It’s unfortunate that trading under Section 5B is nullified by Section 5C, blocking his main exit plan. His privilege does affect his policy. This is going to get more nasty before it gets better. October is coming soon and unless he’s going to whip one out of his hat, it’s going to be ugly.
Seems to me the Johnson family's privileges were well earned. His father worked hard at a good job. Boris himself had a good education whilst on scholarships granted for academic merit. Your envy makes you look small.
People like YOU really grind my gears... Comments about another man's appearance is unnecessary and underhand... Then to question his upbringing... As if that's relevant? Did YOU choose your parents? And stop behaving like a dunderhead! #YouCanDoIt
What I realize is that everyone assumes I am going after his character when I am going after how his politics are questionable. What is the real motivation for his policy changes, how does HE stand to profit when clearly the policy change is counterproductive in terms of economic stability, cooperation, and peace keeping? He could be the smartest human for all we know and that literally is not the point. I am saying that the way he deflects VERY REAL, serious questions is deeply troubling. He has stated in other interviews he hasn’t read section 5C which is alarming because he constantly refers to 5B as a panacea which it is not and cannot ever be. Do not allow him to persuade or side track the problems in his policy. I don’t see any true rational or benefits, the implications are much greater than he publicly acknowledges. Since I do not know him, the only resources I have to explain WHY he advocates for policy is his history. Many of the things he dislikes or has campaigned against the EU with in the past are misrepresented. Either he intentionally misleads people for some unknown ulterior motive, or he briefly SERIOUSLY was concerned with the recyclability of tea bags. Either way, it doesn’t look good. I am open to more ideas - but I would say that I have not misrepresented my position one bit.

On one hand, I'm loving the whole comedy show that's Brexit. On the other, I can't stop feeling sad about the situation my English friends have found themselves in as a result of the actions of a bunch of useless so-called politicians. And, speaking about useless politicians, 75 or thereabout protesters forced BoJo to run as far away from the joint statements' podium as possible? Seriously?
Very clever move, Boris asked for a closed meeting so they had it in the open and informed a baying mob to drown out any conversation, very childish move.
She actually revolved her entire interview in a looped version of the concept "we want to give people a choice". As an Italian can someone please explain to me how she's not mentioning that the English people was lied to by the Brexit campaign? How is she not explaining that the decision taken by a part of the leave voters was taken while receiving false information and misrepresentations of the European Union? Wouldn't these be the best answers she could have given in this interview?
@@eekamoose Thank you for confirming I didn't misunderstood her political charachter. Just a question, if you would be so kind to answer: I have never seen her before today, point blank how would you judge her as a representative if you know her past deeds at all, of course?
Absolutely set up by the EU. Boris went to Luxembourg as a courtesy because Jean Claude was there, and he isn't in the best of health these days. This then made Boris the guest of the Luxembourg prime minister, so should have been treated in a respectful way. Boris did the right thing in walking away here. This also sends a message to the EU reference to the summit on 17th October. If you try to play games with brexit, and the will of the British electorate, this prime minister will walk away. So, any idea of trying any embarrassing tactics won't work. Put another way. If Boris had done this to the Luxembourg prime minister in London. He would have been trashed in all the newspapers, and the media worldwide, because they were watching. Time for European leaders to stop these protests, because it's damaging their reputation too, on the world stage.
You realize that in luxembourg people are free to protest right. A lot of those in the video are British citizens... So, the brits are a rude and after their own PM. Fair enough. Also, who is stopping you from leaving?

@rugbydazz "they live in Europe and will continue to" - only a few EU countries passed bills to let them stay at least temporarily (a few months). What happens after that is unclear. As non-EU citizens they'll be subject to the same rules as other foreigners, like Russians. They can't just stay and work in the EU unless a solution is found (like the proposed deal).
What a humiliation for the UK. Mr Johnson is such a shameful character. And I am Italian and had to sit through Berlusconi's press conference for 20 years. Happy to see the British finally managed to catch up.

With No Deal, the UK will be weaker, it will get worst deals from everyone: EU, USA, China, etc. You don’t give the good deals to weak nations ... that was the whole point of the EU.
Boris is squandering whatever little bit of leverage was left; and I agree that Brexiteers like Farage are in a glorious position to make ££££ from this exercise which will crush the common man.
@@ThemFuzzyMonsters fuzzy brain cells is more likely sunshine
@@yergoc.awgernos2600 agree with all of this except that the EU is lying

I live in Luxembourg and am quite embarrassed by the treatment of the UK Prime Minister. 75 hecklers were enough to ruin a press conference. The prime minister of Luxembourg probably thought he was looking cool by humiliating Johnson in his absence, but he looked a bit petty to me.
BJ embarrassed himself, by not showing up to the conference. In the whole video you see people who were shouting " let the prime minister speak " the moment Xavier started his speech. They would have done the same for the brit prime minister, actually I think bj embarrassed the luxembourgish Authorities by running away and not respecting the whole concept of the summit.... so for the luxembourgish PM it was the right decision not to be the embarrassed himself, so xavier made clear that bojo is not transparent at all, not willing of speaking in front of his people/ voters living in Luxembourg....so he showed us what boris is and have already been before a liar & coward.... and that's fair on a political point of view. ..

On taxpayers money . As if Boris is in it for the paltry salary of a PM . No he has his eye on much bigger bucks . Currently his and Rees Mogg's hedge fund pals hold an 8 billion " short " position on the pound effectively betting on a no deal Brexit . That's the real prize Bojo has his eyes on .
Boris can smell a set up miles away
My back gardens bigger than Luxembourg
@chris hardman bigger than 2,586 km²?!? I guess you failed basic maths
chris hardman How many back gardens do you have exactly?
@@saberint Maybe he's one of the fabled super rich who wants to avoid ATAD. Seems more likely that he's a deluded mug who deludes himself wholesale.
I don’t know where you have such a big gardens in England my friend Chris Hardman... Sometime ago English people complained they have no space because of foreigners, but you must be a special one with a big garden.
Why did the prime minister of Luxembourg organise the conference inside, when he knew that there were protesters just behind?
Set up by the scummy eu
These things are organized well in advance and follow strict protocol. They had agreed to do it outside.
Boris bailed, they didn’t feel like throwing him a lifeline. The end.
Looks like the entire population of Luxembourg was in that yard !!!
@@adamsapple5544 All Britain deserve for all this nonsense
@@marekmarusinec6063 shame EU didn't agree and kick us out
If the Luxembourg Prime Minister wont negotiate on a press conference then it looks like he is the perfect picture of the EU’s attitude to negotiations. Looks like the only deal the EU wants is a no deal.
still going to be easy boris? you can't even hold a press conference... embarrassment.
Jo Swinson makes me think she's doing an impression of her own accent.
crazytosh
Pointless comment from a pointless nationality.
A dog walking, grass cutting, delusional nationality imagining a glorious past that leaves out the fact that most of their ancestors were exploited serfs, factory workers, foot soldiers or miners, exploited by other British.
I am sorry but this is how EU officials receive Prime Ministers these days? Allowing a mass of 75 people to silence down a country's official because they disagree? I would have left that ridiculed interview too! And I am an EU citizen!
Obviously Luxembourg's PM has very little respect for his opponents. But this is the kind of panicked thrashing you would see from a cornered animal. The EU's on the verge of recession, and their superstate project is being interrupted by our (The British people's) decision opt out! Of course Luxembourg would suffer greatly from this decline, and so we see the desperation unfold.
@Steve Foster I am Greek and an EU citizen you assuming idiot. And if that is what you read through the lines it's because that's the thought space you are in.
It's called democracy. If British expats want to protest they're allowed to. They didn't pose a threat, just a nuisance. How would you solve this? Clear the whole city so you don't have to face different opinions?
@@StYxXx They were going to drown him out if they could during the talk. That's got nothing to do with Democracy, it's not productive, it's not civil discourse, it's cancel culture at work. If it's clear that the protesters are going to be disruptive then it's justified to clear them out.
@@StYxXx Funny, when I did my 4 year degree in Political Science and Philosophy in Greece (where we pride to have a bit of a sensitive connection with the idea of democracy) nowhere was it mentioned that and heckling during a guest PM's interview to the level he has to opt out is a democratic way of expressing opposition. Mainly because the numbers of the people the PM is representing even if he is a minority government is far less than 75 individuals who only represented themselves. Bottom line booing is for thugs so leave words that you don't fully understand nor respect, like 'democracy' out. One of the most sacred principle democracy is based on is the right or your opponent to express his opinion even if you disagree with him. End of lesson.
I always get the used car salesman vibe when bonkers Boris speaks.
Takes one to know one eh Sweetie
Whilst tuning in and out of proceedings today, I have been shocked and appalled by the amount of racism being spewed by my fellow British. I just want to say for anyone out there, true British are proud of the multi cultural country the UK has become. I live among Asians, eastern Europeans and many other nationalities and am very happy to do so. When people tell me they came here for a better life, I'm proud my country is seen a safe and better place for people to live. People spreading your racist hate; STOP, your no better than anyone else. If you were born in the middle east, don't tell me for one minute you wouldn't try and get your family to the UK for a safer better life.
Boris is fighting for freedom. The EU are scared of Britain leaving because there’s other countries wanting the same. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Easiest deal ever - They said!
I've met people like BOJO, they always say to me, " don't come to my office with bad news, only come to my office with good news".
They don't last very long!
The question is, will the constituents of the MP’s who have defected vote them back in in a general election? I hope not!
Well dear old smiley boy Chuka has scarpered off to Kensington knowing voters in Streatham would have slaughtered him.
Would that not depend on whether their constituents voted leave or remain?

Boris Johnson did a Trump on them, brilliant!!! lol 😆
Yes perfect example to follow 🙄
Yes because the way his is behaving is the way a world leader should behave (I'm being sarcastic)
What is a 'Trump' when it's at home? Talking gibberish and flip flopping is my best guess. Donnie's poll numbers are pretty bad, just saying. Voters are deserting him in lorry loads
The lib Dems need to address the reasons WHY so many voted for Brexit. Not all of the reasons require leaving the EU. Also, tell what else you stand for other than no Brexit. Economy, freedoms etc.
@Stop Brexshit Because they are chickens!
They did if you want to agree with the 52% vote for the brexit party. The lib dems are just not a party that runs on a singular issue of brexit. The reason we have elections is so we can go to work. Referendums are for special situations but not something that use every time we want a policy change otherwise nothing would get done. The check on the system is the election. The last election people voted for stagnation this is the true reflection.
It's time to hold a second referendum on Brexit.
Revoke, revoke, revoke, revoke the players of the House! Revoke Article 50, it's a scam.
Nah, just leave us Europeans alone already.

He is a joke! With an area of 2,586 square kilometres (998 sq mi), it is one of the smallest sovereign states in Europe. In 2019, Luxembourg had a population of 613,894,
It's big enough to be used by plenty of greedy selfish bastards as a tax haven

What has Israel got to do with us leaving
It’s a Russian bot, ignore it
You want to leave the EU without the deal? Fine. Just leave. Who needs you anyway? But don’t crying that vital supplies in the UK will face shortages. Populism might be popular in the campaign but might not work in the policymaking process. Look at Italy.
the EU leaders should not talk nowaday with the british govt regarding the issues of brexit without presenting signed documents on the table ...u know why?? bcoz their UK PM is a liaaarrr ....
