I'm gonna be honest. The script is just a big list of every empty clitchee phrase ever. And the part with "you are kind, generous, intelligent and have a great sense of humour...that's why you're my friend" is probably not the best thing to say. It might be enough on someone who is alone for a month or whatever, but might be back firing on someone who is alone for years. Basically turning it into "you be all those good traits but you still been single for so long" There is alot of love, yes. But not everyone can give the same kind of love. Friends, Family nor a pet can hold you like a partner. Idk why but this whole script just made me angry. But ofc, if it does help someone... Great.
i also don't know why this script makes you angry because i disagree! Peoples self esteem tend to spiral down the longer they are involuntarily single, and valentines day these feelings tend to be extra strong. So if anything, i believe it is more important to hear those compliments as a small push. Sure they are not deep, but they really can not be taylor made for everyone in this format. And with the part about different kinds of love, it is good to appreciate what you already have as a way to distract you. Its not really healthy to emphasize what you are missing, without giving an opportunity to look at the bright side of things. The audio is supposed to cheer you up, i don't see how it could be done how it could be done for a wider audience without complements or putting the perceived importance of romantic love into perspective.
