“The Karate Kid?!” “Kid? I’m 35.” That was pretty funny.
His actor was actually way older than the movie would lead you to believe
@@heehoohehehe1267 Ralph Macchio was 21 when the movie was filmed
Kobra Kai has the last laugh
lol
Karate kid!?
Hah im 35
I'm honestly surprised they didnt get an Austin powers one because "that's brisk baby" would have been perfect with him saying it
They should've done one where Austin Powers is interacting with James Bond (with either Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan).
YES
OMG that would be lit!!
Makes sense considering when these early commercials were made.
“That’s Brisk, baby, yeah!”
That wasn't a puppet, that was just Danny DeVito.
Nah it was way to tall to be Danny. It’s clearly a puppet
@@alexlovelady8249 it’s actually claymation
@@___.Sukuna.___20 you missed the joke
@@___.Sukuna.___20 ok
@@ironwolf3654 no it's a puppet read the title
Darth Maul talks more in one commercial than he did in all his scenes in the movies.
Brisk Maul is my headcannon ngl
Just a reminder that even commercials can jump the shark.
Man, I was just thinking the same thing.
True that.
“Coolio was dropping that hip hop thing”
The moment I read that, I immediately thought of chips ahoy and how they turned a silly cookie commercial into another hype-train chaser
Brisk didn't jump the shark, it was threatened by a terrorist group that forced them to ruin their lives in favor of losing their self-respect forever
The older black and white ones were the best!
Right. The celebrity death match animation is awesome lol
Yeah
Yeah the Darth Maul ones were the WORST!
I thought the eminem one was pretty funny too tho
@@blakekeating6495 and machete's
The bruce willis one looks exactly like him.
I think thats the point
@@Shawno625 most of them are more cartoony but Bruce looks exactly like himself
@@Shawno625 it's uncanny how much it looks like him.
It actually looks like John McClane from Die Hard.
And I think they actually got him to do his voice on there too, just like on the Danny DeVito one.
It's like they forgot how satisfying it was to see the characters DRINK it. Like, the drinking animations in the black and white ones were so good it actually made you think "DAMN IT'S THAT GOOD?!" but then in these newer ones even with celebrities they barely drink it.
What the hell?
Nowadays they "air sip" it to compensate for their 30th deadpan take. Back then the characters were sweaty and exhausted, so when they gulp it down it's more satisfying seeing them bounce back vs the former back to my makeup trailer looks
“Karate Kid?”
“Kid? Huh I’m 35.”
I died 😂
You lack focus, my master can teach you.
@@k-boi420 **drinks brisk**
Arnold? From Happy Days?
0:35
This just reminded me that I had the script memorized for the Rocky Balboa commercial locked away in my brain.
Me too. It's still Brisk, baby.
"Nuthin' is ovah, just gimme somethin' to drink!"
@@Reagan1984”There ain’t nothin on ice that’ll save ya know!”
jesus, the old ones were fantastic and the darth maul ones were absolutely horrible
I couldn't agree more
I agree, it looks animated and just unoriginal to the black and white ones
I'm guessing George Lucas was involved and replaced practical to digital XD
I think all the ones before dark thoughts from the dark side were good
@@craigthebrute8932 because making fun of Georhe Lucas and CGI in 2021 totally makes you cool
2:04 more realistic then all the other pupets
Willie Nelson is now the only musician referenced in the commercial at 3:00 that is still alive.
🎶”but I am still alive”🎶
Considering most of the musicians depicted there were already long dead when the ad aired, your comment doesn't signify much.
@@HOTD108_ Elvis was the only one who was dead at the time.
Ozzy tho
erm akshully, there have been sightings of Elvis after he died 🤓
"Hope you like sushi." Has to be the greatest action movie one-liner despite not actually being an action movie one-liner.
Stop motion is such a unappreciated art form
9:21 they lost their budget didnt they?
They spent all their money on Danny Devito
You mean to tell me Babe Ruth was hungover in this commercial??? 😂😂😂
And a sugary ass non-soda disguised as tea gonna put a stop to that.
@@lemmingscanfly5 Babe Ruth was long since dead by the time Steinbrenner was manager. Anything can happen in this world.
I love how Billy West was voicing so many of these.
How did the second half just become the Darth Maul show...?
they did the Star Wars ones in 3D instead of stop motion so i guess it was just cheaper to produce more to help promote the airing of Episode I
but man did the quality of the animation drop off by the end. You can tell its the same rigged model, different animators
@@TVindustries5000 the Darth Maul series is just horrible
lemmingscanfly5:
A very clever, creative commercial idea eventually turned into millennial mush sh*t. It's "science", Baby! (See: The Second Law Of Thermodynamics.)
@@D-FensDogG the older commercials were millenial too so your comment is just dumb
@@TVindustries5000 3D re-release in 2012, not the 1999 original release
1:06 “Top 10 saddest anime deaths”
Makes me wonder what the original Brisk tea tasted like.
If I remember correctly, old Brisk was too... Lemony for my tastes. The tea was more chemical too. It does taste a lot better since then. They focused more on lemon covering up the chemical tea back then than the stuff they have now. That was old Brisk.
Trash bin juice
I loved Lemon Brisk personally, was hooked on the stuff for a little while. The ads worked.
There was something about it that would be really refreshing but would make my throat feel weird. Still has a tinge of that today. I liked it a lot as a kid but I think I just liked the sugar.
My mom says it was good but chemical-y lol. Brisk ever since new Brisk has been great lol. And it’s something I drink constantly
The thoughts from the dark side was the final nail in the coffin for these
glad that even though the old commercials are black and white, for the Frank Sinatra one, they kept "ol blue eyes"
1998 - 2004 :
Black and White
Smooth Animation
Cute Parody for the time
Uses big franchies at the time.
2005 - 2011:
In Color
Slight use of 3DCG but still smooth
Still hits with the times.
"Brisk sells itself" went for a bit. It was a gag at companies who use generic ads, thinking people would just buy it cause it's popular.
2012
Color is still there
Very cheaply made with use of nothing but 3DCG, bit of flash.
Lowered Framerate, resulting in very choppy and 2D animation.
Pure Marketing took over, resulting in Starwars or whatever was popular instead of celebrities or parody.
I doubt phase II was much of a "middle finger" or that the "higher ups" were hindering their work.
A) It's a commercial to sell iced tea, not a personal film project. The goal from the advertising agency's point if view is to please the client. And the client was obviously pleased.
B) The "higher ups" were willing to pay to turn that "middle finger" commercial into an multimillion dollar Superbowl spot, greatly exceeding the cost of the actual production. So they obviously believed in it enough to back it up with that and then a subsequent followup campaign.
C) Phase II was the point where the campaign jumped the shark. So much for creative integrity.
@@wellesradio
I was tired and got it confused for something else, excuse me.
Music icons: Elvis, James Brown, Willie Nelson, and of course, Coolio.
And frank sinatra?
How are the both of you leaving out Ozzy?
Eminem.
Ozzy
@@Clay3613 thank you
brisk should bring again the puppets
Agreed.👍🏾
You should go again to school.
@@GraemeGunn oh for my english ? yeah maybe but i can bet you cant speak french or spanish ^^
No. No, they should not. Did you not watch the video? It proves what happens when a funny idea goes on for too long. They stopped being funny after about four commercials.
It's claymation, not puppets
6:05 is the best
They make it look like the most refreshing thing ever
5:00 this ad is Covid 19 the movie
Bruce Willis put more effort into his commercial than he has in any film for the last 15 years.
Well, his brain is broken now so he had to do a shitload of shitty movies that don't mean shit to make money to provide for his family after he can no longer do movies. Cuz his brain got broken somehow. Not judging, just reporting the facts.
This is a sad comment in hindsight
@@oklahomacityradiowaves5462 Oof you’re right

Respect to Danny devito Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone for being able to make fun of themselves in these adverts I wish a lot more celebs in the present day could do that

When Elvis said *Mershy* I felt that.
1:04 You’re fired!

It's still high quality animation but yeah
Wished they brought back the puppets.
I think Al Roker being assulted by the puppets is absolutely hilarious

(Proceeds to be unalived)
Dude, I really miss these commercials. The Babe Ruth one was my personal favorite.
No wonder its your favorite
Back when commercials were fun and inventive.
We can still have fun and inventive commercials.
And now we have the Sprite Cranberry commercial. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I want to buy brisk and drink and then just go "that's brisk, baby"

You know these are the bomb when there's a compilation of ad's and everyone is enjoing it
4:56 is that new Denny DeVito?
yes
This is what advertising should look like
It's funny and it's obviously advertising something specific. The item they are selling is literally the only thing in colour in the entire ad
And even when the entire ad has colour its still obviously selling something specific
Nowadays you only see this level of commitment in super bowl commercials
9:40 I miss this game. I used to play it all the time on my dads old iPhone 4. Simple times.
I wish we could get these commercials for brisk again. The drink is great
7:23 HMMM... Infuse my can of Brisk with Ketamine, I must.
5:48 then I wash my hands
Then I wash my hands
Then I wash my hands
*THIS'LL MAKE YA FEEL GOOD hHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAÆ*

I was drinking in the 1998 to 2002 nostalgia, and then all of a sudden I was in the era of Facebook and mobile games, and everything suddenly wasn't as cool (the Darth Maul stuff was still funny though, I'll give you that).
I love the subtlety of Steinbrenner firing Billy Martin
I hear Billy West's voice in several of these commercials.
3:16
Well…at least willie is still playing.
And heck. The other 3 still being playing hard!
0:27 video starts
4:28 video ends (the watchable part at least)
dave filoni wants you to forget those last couple of commercials
These commercials are classic :D
That Darth Maul & Yoda one just brought back a flood of memories I had no idea I had.
Frank throwing eggs? Instead of eating them in these trying times?
BLASPHEMY!
Holy shit, a lot of those voices are done by Billy West!
Whoever voiced Bruce Willis nailed it. I swear it sounds exactly like him.
Literally the ones that I find iconic were definitely the old Bruce Willis commercial, Sylvester stallone, and of course my main boy Eminem. So sad they don't make commercials like this anymore.
These commercials low-key turned into a Puppet Master sequel
The Ozzy Osbourne one was just a pure fever dream
Fr
I totally forgot about these! Thank you so much!
The thing i love about these commercials is its not give the people super powers, they just needed something to drink.
These commercials were the best! The Eminem one was the very first one I ever saw. I saw the rest on RUclips. One minor criticism I have is that the alternate version of the Bruce Lee was used only and not the original too and the TV version of the Eminem one and the 8-second version of the Ozzy Osborn commercial weren’t included, but other than that, great video!
I was just thinking, this is like Celebrity death match., and then the boxing one comes up.
7:42 he just absorbs like a sponge
probably because brisk didn't want people seeing the correlation between brisk and his gross teeth
@@___.Sukuna.___20 wasn't brisk's fault here though, darth maul just hasn't brushed in months or something

Why don't commercials do cool things like this anymore?
I’ll always remember the Rocky one 😂😂
Imagine that if it were Rocky VI. I wonder who voiced Mickey since the original actor Burgess Meredith died before the ad aired.
8:17 Maybe not that last one, Ozzy.
1:59 Bruce Willis vs. The Jeffersons lol 😂
4:46 love the brisk commercials but I can't help the fact that there is a beautiful ford ranger in the background. (I'm a ranger fan)

I love how james brown just screams all the time.

The Star Wars ads was a strange crossover.
It’s 12 am and I’m watching brisk commercials just for the fucks of it
I never thought I would need Elvis Presley saying “that’s Brisk baby” in my life.
These commercials are so good
What's funny is that I would see those commercials all the time while shopping.

Fucking loved these comercials. Me and my friend used to quote them all the time. "That's Brisk baby!"
When de puppets get fired

the quality of these commercials went down so bad that at 10:36 you can see that only his eyes and the inside of his mouth were being rendered as shadows
It took me like 20 years to realise that they were reusing the puppets from old commercials in Danny Devito commercials
Loved these commercials
It was like Old Spice meets Celebrity Deathmatch
