I was literally looking at the other m7b5/min6 videos because that chord is hard for me to construct on the fly. Then boom, this video drops for the collection. Pure gold! Thanks
Just got my Barry Harris transcribed for guitar book. It's been so eye opening. It's always interesting to watch a piano player as a guitarist. I always learn something new
Great ideas as always - I always end up drilling these in different keys because they are such helpful tips. I particularly find it helpful when you demonstrate these harmonic techniques in standards so I can hear them in context. Thanks again.
Honestly this is the best video within your library. I have reached an ephiany finally I can understand how to apply diminished 6th to songs and playing. Thank you for opening my eyes to this world.
Is 251 Gm: Am7b5/D7/Gm ..........E dim is the 5 of 5 you do get a scale of chords from the D7 and E dim but the C dim and Eb are giving the D7 the b9 and nice alterations for the minor key. The Dm in the Bb key center is the 3 chord in major
Hey Shan great video. I really appreciate it when you play an example like at 8:45 that includes some advanced ideas that are beyond the scope of the videos teachings. For beginner students the first 8 minutes of the video are most valuable but personally I learned more in that single example than the rest of the video because you used a couple movements I hadn't heard before. For advanced students who are in the habit of learning by transcribing the masters and self teaching, throwing in some more advanced movements in your examples that are not necessarily related to the video is really helpful because it puts the other moves into context, and I don't think it detracts from the focus of the video for beginners. I always learn the most from your videos when you just play a snippet of "fully formed" music that is not simplified or restrained by the topic of the video. Just my two cents!
A new Jazz Skills video is always a nice way to start the day!
This barris methods never ends, I have been learning new things every time lol.
A Pandora box

“into my hands” so that it feels natural.❤
I love you my friend. Netflix is a joke compared to this channel! This is top quality content here. Love from Brasil

Hi Sean! At 2:20, why is C diminished the corresponding chord; would it not be E diminished, given that this is in the same key signature as d minor?!

Sounds like a C melodic minor (ascending) is what works most often. The Ab/G# is really out of place to my ear
