mertvyyedeti ? She IS the bird She’s singing about her terrible deeds and confessing then committing suicide by breaking her own neck so she doesn’t go to jail
Well the way I see it is actually the girl she did something bad (perhaps killed someone) and there was a witness so she spoke to him but he kept screaming she killed him. But I like that new view that is yours, that she did do something bad perhaps and she broke her own sanity thing about it. I wondered what happened when she broke down? Maybe she turned herself in and that what the part 'from my mouth' was about? Who knows? I just love this song. It makes me want to dance and kick everything. XD P.S I think this person comment as a joke.
Alex Lee (casually replies to year old comment) yeah, actually I'm planning a PMV of this song up to 1:04 . It would take the lyrics in a literal sense and would feature a woman and a bird
I have a feeling that the bird is the manifestation of the unconscious thoughts, unresolved issues or guilt..smthng that she is trying to repress..however no matter how hard she tries to ignore the issue she will not be able to move on until she deals with it..i duno that's how i saw it. Lovely song and Amazing video! Thumbs up
Jessica Elias How can I not like her after it was you who introduced me to her. Dog Days are Over. We were in the AUB library as well, and you told me you love that song because the girl in the song reminds you of yourself. Yes. I can surprise you.
I'm not sure if I've made a comment like this before or not, but this reminds me of my anxiety. Throughout the day, anxiety or "the bird" sings to you about every little mistake, my anxiety usually is first triggered when I feel like I've done or felt something immoral and that's when anxiety/the bird sets up his nest for the day. When you try to confront or reason with the bird, the singing gets louder. You try to kill the bird by numbing yourself and forcing it down, although you get a temporary relief from the singing, this only causes things to build up. Eventually you snap and you become the bird which basically means you're having a panic attack. If you've ever had a panic attack, you'd probably know the feeling of losing control and becoming the anxiety. That's my take
Yuppers. I had a panic attack in first term of high school. It all started when I couldn't open my pesky locker. Then, I missed form class (that's about twenty minutes of class time when notices are shouted out and the first roll of the day is called) I missed form class and thought that was the first session done. That's when anxiety kicked in. Then, halfway through the first period I got lost. Compass (an Australian school session tracker) did not help. I REALLY started to freak out, as tears were streaming down my face and my brain panicking and my heart beating faster and faster. I eventually found out it was the first session and headed to class. I was exhausted and stressed, as I apologized to the teacher, my anxiety flashing out again, as I panicked again and teared up again, thinking this was it and I was gonna die. The teacher forgave me, and understood what I went through. She sat me back down, and comforted me for a bit, then went back to teaching. I calmed down, confusion and fog clearing my mind so I could focus. I've been through a lot of stress, but none as mentally disturbing and scary as this experience.
i like the way this looks, unlike other lyric videos that look like they were obviously done in windows movie maker with bright colors. this looks clan and the font goes well on the black and with the song
The way I interrupt this song: The bird is actually her. She was killing herself just to keep a secret. In her dreams she was telling her secret. Doing the thing she so very wished not to do. “Well I didn't tell anyone, but a bird flew by Saw what I'd done he set up a nest outside, And he sang about what I'd become He sang so loud, sang so clear I was afraid all the neighbours would hear,” She was trying to keep her thoughts to herself, but it was becoming almost unbearable. People asked her what was wrong, and she had to hold her tongue. “So I invited him in, just to reason with him I promised I wouldn't do it again But he sang louder and louder inside the house,” She tried to tell herself that is wasn’t a big deal. But when she bottled it up, her emotions just grew stronger. “And no I couldn't get him out So I trapped him under a cardboard box Stood on it to make him stop I picked up the bird and above the din I said That's the last song you'll ever sing Held him down, broke his neck, Taught him a lesson he wouldn't forget.” She couldn’t get rid of the emotions, and it was killing her to keep them all bottled up. The bird is a part of her subconscious that she’s trying to destroy. “But in my dreams began to creep That old familiar tweet tweet tweet I opened my mouth to scream and shout, I waved my arms and flapped about” She had a dream where that part of her subconscious-the bird- took over. She was telling the world wha she had done, and there was no way to stop it. I could go on a full rant, but I don’t really feel like writing an essay tonight! 😂👍🏼
Whenever I listen to this song, I imagine this random story where a wife kills her husband through an overdose on some sort of medicine. The only witness of this is her schizophrenic daughter, who in turn is the 'bird' of this song, crying out for help. The mother kills her daughter too in order to silence the singing bird. She goes a few months without anyone notice her husband and daughter's disappearance, assuming the husband has fled with his daughter but when people report a smell coming from the house, the widow's worst nightmare comes true, she gets found out. She tries to cry her way out of it, but the ghosts of her past have been haunting her to the point of no return. She finds herself singing the bird's song when she's in handcuffs and it's clear she's confessed to her deeds.
I feel like this is someone battling a guilty conscious. They suppress the guilt and fear of what they've done, but in the end they end up confessing over and over again to what they've done and the guilt consumes them. Goddamn this is some powerful shit.
This song really reminds me of the book How To Kill a Mockingbird. I can imagine Mayella singing this. What she “had done” was kissed and tried to seduce Tom Robinson, this bird. And as long as he was alive, he would remind her of how she tried to tempt a black man (this book is based in the 1930s in the south where racism was still prominent) she “snaps the birds neck” by taking Tom to court for “raping her”. The familiar “tweet tweet tweet” is the guilt she feels but at the same time is the reminder that if she doesn’t pull through with her accusation, her father will beat her again. I’d love to make an animatic about the book using this song. I suggest reading How To Kill a Mockingbird. It’s a very great book and racism, sexism, prejudice in general, and the struggles and the new found ideals of coming of age. Harper Lee did a great job. I enjoy both this song and the book very much :>
Actually my fan theory on the song is that is the actual case. That the bird is more like a conscience or other side to herself and that's why the second half of the song she's talking about flapping, and screaming. Anyway I know you were making a goof but it made me laugh seeing as how similar it was to my belief.
Same I listen to very depressing songs I'll name a few Only a few Paralysed Sad song Only human Older And there are loads more but if my parents found out what I listen to and watch they would send me to a therapist and a doctor just in case I have depression.....which might be true
"So I invited him in" "Just to reason with him" "I promised him I wouldn't do it again..." "BUT HE SANG LOUDER AND LOUDER INSIDE THE HOUSE" "AND NOW I COULDN'T GET HIM OUT!" Idk why but that part makes me laugh.
My own little interpretation: Someone's internal thoughts fighting. They've done something they consider bad and keep a secret (could be anything socially unacceptable by family or society) and the bird is a personification of their desire to tell people they did it. The bird begins to sing, telling people, but before it can reach the neighbors (people's) ears they take their thought and kill it, ending it, so it'll never be released. But as they do that they take on another perspective, from the bird- the side of their mind that desperately wants people to know this secret that will never come out.
Ok so when I first heard this I was really tired and it was after my grandmother had just recently paased away and my dream was about me being traped in the aviary that was in as nursing home she was in and I was the only bird who gave her attention but for some reason she wanted to kill me? Idk but any ways I watched her slowly deteriorate (side note she did slowly deteriorate irl too but not as bad as in this dream) every day she was falling deeper and deeper into a depression because I wouldnt come see her and other things i dont want to talk about but she had soon died infront of the aviary I then turned into a human and so did all the other birds and they framed me for murdering my grandmother witch I loved dearly and so I then went on a killing spree killing all but one other bird/human because it was my grandma's favorite and it was the only one who stood by me we then went to my grandmas funeral then turned back into birds who went and lived in Jamaica....
Everything was so emotional and mysterious.. And then it got all ruined by the simple fact that you told us the unnecessary information of going to Jamaica... Other than that, I'm sorry for what happened
Story: So I got this creepy vibe when listening to the song and getting this theory, probably because I thought of this happening in my house lmao But the theory is that she had done something bad that the bird had seen when flying by. The bird decided to nest by the girls house. The bird sang clearly to everyone of her sins. The girl wanted the bird to stop and invited the bird in to reason with it, and to make it stop singing. But the bird sang louder and louder inside the house. The girl couldn’t get the bird out of the house now. She trapped the bird in a cardboard box and stepped on it, almost killing the bird. The bird screamed, and to stop the screaming the girl snapped the birds neck, “teaching it a lesson it would never forget.” What was that lesson? I don’t know actually. Comment what you think. The girl was in shock, and got knocked out. She had a dream. She heard a tweet. A familiar tweet. This wasn’t a dream, this was a nightmare. She ran, trying to get away from the bird. But the bird followed. She wished she wouldn’t have done it. It was an accident. She was scared. This leads me to believe that the thing the girl did at the beginning was accidental murder. But now the bird was manifesting in her dreams. Still in the dream, she is now in the position of the bird. But not the bird at just any time. The bird in the box. She is now the bird, getting stepped on. She is feeling the pain though, meaning that her second sin has turned from a dream to reality. She flapped her wings and couldn’t tweet or anything. She was helpless, just like the bird. When she wakes up from this nightmare the birds song starts coming from her, mouth. This is either 1. The bird has completely manifested her body, turning her into a bird, which I don’t think is true 2. This is her confessing her crimes. Just think about it, the bird’s song was the bird telling everyone of her sins, so this would mean that this song is her telling everyone of her crimes, letting go of her sins, (probably going to fucking jail) So yeah this took a while to make so please like and comment what corrections I should make. Also this isn’t official I just made this theory from scratch. Btw this song is fire so drop a like on the vid as well.
To any Warrior Cat fans: wouldn't this fit with Hollyleaf??? The first part is ashfur in the fire and then holly killing him. Then her at the gathering announcing the secret then finally her running away
There's some pretty decent lore for my main OC, and this inspired me to give her an even more extended back story, like before the main events of her main back story. I decided she used to have a little brother. When she was born her parents hated her for her discolored eyes (this was already in the story) and one day she was told to go get some water because they always had her do work for them, and she met an older cat (they're all cats) who tried to... Ahem, molest her. So she took him into the forest and killed him out of anger. Her brother saw her and ran into town screaming about what he'd seen. So she tried to talk to him and tell him it was for a reason, but all he did was talk about it more. The word spread everywhere and everyone was turning against her, so she tried making him shut up, but he attacked her. So she attacked him back, and they fought. Soon she was hurt and angry again, and ended up killing him as well. After that her parents disowned her and she ran into the woods, got attacked by wolves, and woke up with a broken leg (which was already in the story) but she also was screaming to herself about everything she had done wrong, and crying for her brother.
I love this song because there's so many way to "see"/interpret what the song means every one is coming up with their own little theory and stories about it it's cool 😎😎
I imagine a broadway singer getting drunk on karaoke and singing this song. She absolutely nails the song while swaying back and forth on the slow parts, jumping around at the fast parts, and occasionally stopping to take a sip of her drink and smashing her glass on the floor when it’s empty.
Morgan Smith Oh, Ashfur, why you gotta be a tattle. Oh, Hollyleaf, why you gotta murder people to hide your true parents then make the murder purposeless.
I read 'To Kill A Mockingbird' and even though this song doesn't go along with the story, this song just reminded me of the book. I still have it, it's the 50th Anniversary edition with the book. It has a freaking permanent gold sticker on it saying '50th Anniversary Edition' I love the sticker though, it's shiny. . . and gold
@@kiwiqueen2895 That’s like if someone close to you died and when you grieve for them someone tells you “Quit your sobbing, thousands of people die every day.”
Listening to this on my way to my abusive grandma’s house. I was getting so much better and I was feeling so much happier but it just keeps on going back to her, I just want out of this. I just want out...
When I hear this, I imagine someone doing some kind of unspeakable crime (Like Murder), and someone being a witness. The witness is close to the victim and takes it upon themselves to avenge their lost loved one by murdering the criminal. In turn, the criminal haunts/possesses their murderer and can see the whole thing through their point of view. Including the confessions in court
This relates to me a lot I feel like. There is a kid in my class who constantly tells me that I'm a rude and mean person. I really just joke around and try my best, but now I've heard it so many times that I just say it's who I am because I can't do anything about it. I wrote a letter to his parents and tried to get them to read it so he'd get in trouble but he threw the letter away. there is /nothing/I can do and I'm left with this terrible feeling.
Wolfyy Arts I was thinking she might be self harming ya know as if the bird wouldn’t shut up about it to the point she couldn’t take it no more so she killed the bird and the guilt consumed her entire body
Omg...The bird is all Negative thought and feelings. This song is telling everybody that you can't ignore it until you deal with them. I LOVE IT! ...Nice tune swell
I see it as a woman that committed a murder accidentally. The ‘bird’ is the only person that knows about it and he starts threatening the woman that he will tell everyone about it, so she invites him over to try and reason with him, but the thing gets heated and he starts yelling that she murdered someone, so then she starts to beat them up and she accidentally snaps his neck, and when everything is is quiet and everything sinks in she remembers his threats and everything that happened between them and her mind gets louder as she figures out she killed him, she panicked and starts yelling “I killed him!!” Over and over again
naw the bird is her abusive husband. the singing is his rage. he goes too far one too many times, she snaps his neck. only that doesn't fix things. she carries the pain with her. now she's the one singing, and the nightmare never ends.
Oh look there's a bird singing loudly!
*BREAK ITS NECK*

Hahahaha I love the font and the Edgar Allen Poe feel to this lyric video. Great job.
"So I invited him in"
"Just to reason with him"
"I promised him I wouldn't do it again..."
"BUT HE SANG LOUDER AND LOUDER INSIDE THE HOUSE"
"AND NOW I COULDN'T GET HIM OUT!"
Idk why but that part makes me laugh.
Absolutely perfect song.
A song which summarizes my regret and grief from things I committed in the past which keep haunting me today.
My own little interpretation:
Someone's internal thoughts fighting.
But as they do that they take on another perspective, from the bird- the side of their mind that desperately wants people to know this secret that will never come out.
i really like this song!!
Honestly- best song ever. so many emotions and feelings tied in, along with so many things your able interpret, and it’s just a work of art.

"That's the last song you'll ever sing...." I love this song more than I love my food!!!
This is an amazing song!
I love this song and Florence's voice. This song is perfect for her voice.
Nice to see my man Edgar Allan Poe dropping some new content
Golly.
Dreams are strange...
Sorry about you’re grandmother, hope you’re doing ok :P
Everything was so emotional and mysterious.. And then it got all ruined by the simple fact that you told us the unnecessary information of going to Jamaica...
Other than that, I'm sorry for what happened
Bruh how did u dream so much of that in.. a dream
Judge: your looking at about 47 years
6ix9ine: you wanna know what that bird sang?
Story:
So I got this creepy vibe when listening to the song and getting this theory, probably because I thought of this happening in my house lmao
But the theory is that she had done something bad that the bird had seen when flying by.
This is either
1. The bird has completely manifested her body, turning her into a bird, which I don’t think is true
2. This is her confessing her crimes. Just think about it, the bird’s song was the bird telling everyone of her sins, so this would mean that this song is her telling everyone of her crimes, letting go of her sins, (probably going to fucking jail)
So yeah this took a while to make so please like and comment what corrections I should make. Also this isn’t official I just made this theory from scratch. Btw this song is fire so drop a like on the vid as well.
Ok so like I just made this song 100x better so thank you-

This is actually a really good song
Thanks TikTok for showing me another great song!
To any Warrior Cat fans: wouldn't this fit with Hollyleaf??? The first part is ashfur in the fire and then holly killing him. Then her at the gathering announcing the secret then finally her running away
Sushi Games HELL YEAH! I was just thinking how I was gonna make a holly leaf pmv to this song when i saw your comment!

Why are 2 of my favorite songs about birds
And both of them have deep meanings
And both of them make me cry
Is it two birds and this song? Coz there both my faves and have deep meanings
Two birds on a wire? Great song.
my parents and i love this song, we have been singing it ever since it came out but i never listened to the lyrics until i saw this
jesus
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR THE LONGEST TIME EVER
I love how much the song's vibe can change in seconds. I think that's my favourite part! :)
I HADN’T HEARD THIS SONG IN YEARS
There's some pretty decent lore for my main OC, and this inspired me to give her an even more extended back story, like before the main events of her main back story.
@Ali Shabbiri bruh i was 12 lmao. also the character was a cat because i was a furry and her world was largely unadvanced and had no real laws
I love this song because there's so many way to "see"/interpret what the song means every one is coming up with their own little theory and stories about it it's cool 😎😎
Its now 5 months that in listening to this song everyday 😌🙏🏻
I imagine a broadway singer getting drunk on karaoke and singing this song. She absolutely nails the song while swaying back and forth on the slow parts, jumping around at the fast parts, and occasionally stopping to take a sip of her drink and smashing her glass on the floor when it’s empty.
Honestly, love this. Is pure perfection.
I need to make a Warrior MAP with this
I'd join it if I could animate
Morgan Smith it could be a map about holly leaf killing ashfur
Ashfur, definitely.
lpsAwesomenessTV mabey soon but I have another project right now
Morgan Smith Oh, Ashfur, why you gotta be a tattle. Oh, Hollyleaf, why you gotta murder people to hide your true parents then make the murder purposeless.
I'm gonna have a funeral for the poor bird.
ECHO :D i want this played at my funeral lmao and everyone will be like well damn
Danielle Hyde XD
Bird: *tweet tweet twEET tWEET TWEET TWEET*
Florence and the Machine: "So you have chosen...death."
OMG THAT NOTE SHE HELD AT THE END. GODLY.
I was not looking for the song but this is a good song
the clicking sounds at 0:45 sound like the tapping of bird feet against the ground to me, and i've got to say, that's pretty rad
whenever I listen to this song it just reminds me of a main character absolutely losing their shit
this song is fucking pure beauty
To me this bird is my hopeless love for someone I can’t have, I try and stop it but it only gets louder until eventually it overcomes me
I adore this type of song so much emotion but it's still good
I read 'To Kill A Mockingbird' and even though this song doesn't go along with the story, this song just reminded me of the book. I still have it, it's the 50th Anniversary edition with the book. It has a freaking permanent gold sticker on it saying '50th Anniversary Edition' I love the sticker though, it's shiny. . . and gold
me: *trying to sing this song in my strongest voice
My voice cracks: *I'm about to ruin this whole man's career*

Listening to this on my way to my abusive grandma’s house. I was getting so much better and I was feeling so much happier but it just keeps on going back to her, I just want out of this. I just want out...
Tell someone. If they won't listen, call the police. They will.
Including the confessions in court
omfg the long lasting note at the end is the best part of the song
This relates to me a lot I feel like.
There is a kid in my class who constantly tells me that I'm a rude and mean person. I really just joke around and try my best, but now I've heard it so many times that I just say it's who I am because I can't do anything about it. I wrote a letter to his parents and tried to get them to read it so he'd get in trouble but he threw the letter away. there is /nothing/I can do and I'm left with this terrible feeling.
To this day I still wonder what she did.
same XD
Murder
She fuckin murderd someone bruh
Stole someone's poptart
Wolfyy Arts I was thinking she might be self harming ya know as if the bird wouldn’t shut up about it to the point she couldn’t take it no more so she killed the bird and the guilt consumed her entire body
I love this song
0:55 "that's the last song you'll ever sing"
Love that part.
wow...why do I love this so much
Omg...The bird is all Negative thought and feelings.
1:05 IS THE BEST VOCALS EVER!!❤️❤️❤️
