hi man, i am 15 and looking to get into shark fishing, and i bought a penn defiance oh combo spooled with just under 475m of 45lb braid then tied a fg knot to 80lb mono which i attach to wire trace, is this set up good enough to catch shark, I'm targeting little bronzies in perth, it would be a great help if you or anyone could give me pointers and say wether this rod is good for small sharks, i am also tinkling about getting a penn ssv 9500 for my 10-15kg surf rod. is this also okay for shark fishing ?
Yea mate that outfit will be just fine for sharks all the way up to 8 foot, and the surf outfit again will do just fine on sharks also a range of other species, goodluck
@yurmomashouse there’s not really a shoe that can make completely stable on slippery surfaces but from my experiences rover wading shoes do pretty well
Michael Jordon I catch a lot of squid and cuttlefish at pier 2 in the night. I shine a powerful light into the water which seems to attract them to the light. You can catch squid on most piers.
