  • This was day 1 of our search at Linville Falls in North Carolina with Vern Shurtz and Burke County EMS in North Carolina. We were searching for any sign of Frances Apperson at the upper falls area where there are two waterfalls and a very large pool. The very slipper rocks and rapid current had us concerned that Frances could have slipped in and potentially gotten carried down the flume by the current.

    Wow ... That is where my father passed in 1994. He fell from a 40ft cliff. He was an avid hiker but not a "typical" hiker. He would always go off trail and would walk around at night. Please be very careful when hiking/camping in this area. Some of the most beautiful nature in the world!!
    His name is Raymond Axelson. There was a newspaper
    article published in the Citizens Times.
    Thank you guys for all that you do!!

      @@zenikajess So sorry about your father's accident. It is a beautiful area but definitely very dangerous. It's hard to explain to people just how high the sides of that gorge is and the camera just doesn't do it justice.

    Ryan and Jen, it was so great to see everyone working together. Vern has so much experience with searching and has invested in quite a lot in equipment. The individuals from EMS and other searchers also gave their time to search. You and Jen are exceptional at searching for missing loved ones. Glad that the owners husband was able to get the birds to leave. Thank you to all who searched this day. Prayers and blessings to you both. ❤

    You guys are the best! So happy to see another vid come up on my notifications. There is no way anyone can thank you both enough for all you are doing to help search for the missing. Collaborating with some other good people is such a blessing. I hope someday you can get a satellite phone for when you are in areas where there is no cell phone reception. All of you are in my prayers for safety and staying steadfast. Sending love from Tx

    Had a hard time remembering the Banner Elk Cafe? *grins* Les has a very nice set up there. Good man, great place, especially for visitors. Some of us locals miss being able to easily go in for a lunch special back when it was actually a tiny little place.

    Could you all do a search for Sebastian Rogers, the 15 year old autistic young man from Hendersonville Tn...Like his stepfather said ' he pulled a Houdini and Poof !, gone...this young man did not run off into the thicket and harsh terrain of the Tennessee woods without shoes in the dead of night and if he'd taken sidewalks or roads he would have been seen by people or picked up on ring cameras, but nothing...

    • @Fido-vm9zi
      @Fido-vm9zi Месяц назад

      Super strange imo. I guess I've never seen anything like that. However, she must have been living alone because no person knew she was gone, or reported her missing for days, is that right? Also, was she going solo hiking or meeting family? I'm very new to the case. Apologies if I am incorrect.

    Please Please learn the proper definition and usage of the word theory.None of you have theories .You only have hypothesis.A theory is a FACT.

    • @ryanfindstruth
      @ryanfindstruth  23 дня назад +2

      Incorrect. But it is a common misconception. A fact is a final explanation of reality that can not be denied by a preponderance of evidence. A theory is only an explanation of known facts. A hypothesis is a statement, using deductions, to set up a test of those deductions and formulate the theory.
      And yes, we indeed have theories based on the VERY few, known facts about the case. But we do also set up hypothesis before going out into the field - so it's possible at times in the field I don't use the word hypothesis. Then again, the general audience won't know and honestly won't care, about the semantics. But I acknowledge and appreciate that you do. With that said, I will probably continue using the word theory all the time because it's easier.
      "In science, theories never become facts. Rather, theories explain facts. The third misconception is that scientific research provides proof in the sense of attaining the absolute truth. Scientific knowledge is always tentative and subject to revision should new evidence come to light."
