We recently received our SMM2H pass in under 5 months. At the beginning, we travelled to Kuching visited the hospital, got our medical exams then opened our bank account. We were expecting a 17 months wait.
@@teatree6228 i'm in the process of application (s-mm2h) using Alter Domus in Penang, I was recommended and I have to say they are so quick and easy to respond, very attentive & clear.. Highly recommend, i'm a New Zealand resident
The fixed deposit (Sarawak) is likely going to be increased to RM500k per person. So a couple will be RM1m (USD 230 K..........good luck with that one).
Hello dear, I think u forgot to tell us about withdrawal of 50% money from FD for the purpose of medical, schooling or buying a house. But confused for people of 50+ age group, if they want to buy a small house for themselves...will they be allowed to withdraw their 50% money for SMM2H or not.
This is not legal advice. However, AIUI, any foreigner residing legally in Malaysia (or Singapore) can apply for permanent residency. Actually being granted it, however, is a very different proposition, and will in fact almost certainly not happen. H.T.H.
Permanent residency is difficult in Southeast Asia, as it usually entails reciprocity in civil and property rights. Also, a path to citizenship should be part of your permanent residency, which is highly unlikely in the region.
@@Jewtopia79 Permanent residency is a tough ask anywhere in Southeast Asia as priority is given to the local citizens. Why not, it's their country after all. Why should they share their spoils with foreigners out to make a buck 😂
Why they are not allowing silver/gold applicant to work in Malaysia? Will there be any change regarding this? If they allow to Work in Malaysia, number of applicant will increase.
The whole premise of the visa is that the applicant is well off and doesn't need to take away jobs of the locals. It's similar to most residency programs around the world. Be mindful that this is not a permanent residency.
@@NomadElite You need to explain to the viewer what this special visas are and why they are not a permanent solution. Thailand, Indonesia and many other countries have similar visas and the applicants are also NOT allowed to work in these countries. It is not similar to European residency visas where you get more options under the visa. As a content creator you should explain this to the viewer and not say something ludicrous such as 'It's the Government that decides'. This is probably the reason you don't have many subscribers. Cause you don't have good answers to questions on your vlogs. It so happens I'm also under a residency visa in Asia and I am originally from the US as well.

Congratulations on your relocation to Malaysia!
Did you use an agent? If so, which agent?

One can also consider MM2H program for the state of Sabah in Malaysia.
On the Sarawak visa, do I have to stay in Sarawak for 30 days, or anywhere in Malaysia for 30 days?

in Sarawak, they allow 40% withdraw for purchases like house and / or car
Does Sarawak-MM2H require 50+ applicants to purchase property in addition to fixed deposit and money in the bank?
What about investor visa or starting ones own Malaysian company that hires you?

No Asian countries give out PR like lollipops. Unless marriage is involved. My elder brother is married to a singapore girl, so he has PR.
You need to meet certain requirements before you have a chance of getting PR.

Your question is for the government to answer.
