    If this color came in men's sizes I would buy one in an instant, I've got five pairs of other Xero models and this one would perfectly round out my growing collection 😂 but the men's colors on this model are just a bit too pedestrian for my tastes.

    Would you say this is a good shoe to wear in a factory with a concrete floor? Does it have thick souls like the Alpine boot?

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  3 месяца назад +1

      The Ridgeway will have a slightly thinner stack height compared to the Alpine (12.0mm vs. 12.5mm). That said, the Ridgeway will have a thicker EVA foam layer for more cushion. This style should work well on concrete floors. Hope that helps!

    Will these work for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro where hikers go from rain forrest through very rocky terrain up to the snow covered and freezing summit? Many hours of hiking up hill every day, and even more challenging is coming down when everyone is exhausted.

      They probably could handle those conditions since they are fully waterproof, however you may consider the Xcursion Fusion, which will a bit more suited for rugged terrain. You can find those here: bit.ly/xcursionfusion-bm

    Ridgeway vs Alpine?
    I love my prio. I don't like wearing my old shoes since, but living in upstate NY I am looking for something for normal wear for the fall/winter.

      Our Alpine boots will also have 200g insulation, which is roughly equivalent to wearing an extra pair of wool socks, so those will keep your feet much warmer than the Ridgeway, so if you are looking for something more versatile for year round/ Summer use, the Ridgeway would be a solid option and you can always swap in/out warmer socks when needed.

      Thanks!
      Funny thing, being in my 40s, back when I was a kid, ninja movies were a trend. I used to love wearing Japanese tabi shoes. Basically early "barefoot" shoes. My day to day had always been old converse, or vans, but both felt too narrow still. Been interested in barefoot shoes, but keep looking for something more normal looking and more reasonable pricing.
      I went with Xero because of the CEO. Watching him talk and show how much he actually knows and how passionate he truly is about it, with better prices too. Win win. Cheers and good job! I love normalizing this type of footwear finally.
      I'm on my feet all day at work, and my feet used to cramp fiercely when I got home before my Prios. Now that never happens. My feet feel so much better. So far they seem to be durable too, so thanks again.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  Год назад +1

      Being fully waterproof, they will be less porous, so that should help keep your feet warm, especially with a pair of thicker socks. That said, for colder weather, we would recommend our Alpine boots, which will also be fully waterproof with 200g insulation to keep your feet warm in the snow.

    Are there any shape, fit, or external label differences between the mens and womens models of equivalent size? I like the available colorways on the womens model, but don't need the extra hassle from coworkers if I start wearing "girls shoes" to work. I already get enough ribbing about my "slippers" (shoes from the Japanese company Fugo) without adding to it.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  10 месяцев назад +1

      Our men's and women's shoes are very similar, the difference will be the width. The men's version will have an extra 1/4-1/8" width compared to the women's version. The only label difference will be on the tongue tag inside the shoe.

    How does Ridgeway compare to Xcursion? Is the sole thicker? Does Ridgeway still have Huarache tension straps? The pictures seem to suggest this hiker doesn't have the tension straps any more. Which one is more waterproof? Ridgeway or Xcursion?

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  Год назад +1

      For starters, both shoes will use the same waterproofing, so you should expect similar performance for each in that regard. The stack height on the Xcursion Fusion (12.5mm) will be slightly greater than the Ridgeway (12.0mm). The Ridgeway will also not utilize the tension strap design.

    • @JebusPrimeDLC
      @JebusPrimeDLC Год назад

      @@xeroshoeswhen you did the internal wear test, does the ridgeway sole have the same amount or more durability as xcursion sole? since ridgeway does not have the tension strap, this is hiker for less intensive trail activity? I used to use the daylite hiker for runs because of the tension straps, not sure if the same can be done with ridgeway which doesn't have the straps.

    These boots don't have a good waterproof membrane, two pairs of boots and in less than a month the rain leaks through, even light rain. If we talk about more intense rain, it's a disaster. And it's not just my case, there are many more. They should consider putting a GORETEX or Simpatex membrane, the best nowadays for footwear.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  7 месяцев назад

      Our Ridgeway boots will actually use a waterproof membrane like those! If you are experiencing any leaking, don't hesitate to contact our support team at support@xeroshoes.com and they can assist you with our 24 Month Manufacturing Warranty.

    Oh and much darker brown than official pictures also.

    • @xeroshoes
      @xeroshoes  10 месяцев назад

      Our Ridgeway boots will have a stack height of 12.0mm and our Prio will have a stack height of 8.0mm, so the sole will be a bit more substantial, which helps when hiking or running over really rugged terrain. That said, we will pass along your feedback to our design team as well.

      @@xeroshoes I get the idea but let's be honest, even as stiff as they are, they are not enough for proper alpine hike. And any sharp object will puncture through the white spots easily, so why not stick to the concept and make them flexible? Anyway, I like them otherwise :)
