I'm thinking about getting into Horus Heresy and Mechanicum was the faction I was looking at. Thank you for the battle report showing me what the Mechanicum can do.
Love your batreps and army varieties! One suggestion (unless I just totally missed it), would be to put some quiet public domain/free to use music in the background. Feels kinda quiet otherwise.
I’ve actually got some: a friend made some Final Liberation/Boltgun style music, I’ve just been struggling to get the level right, I shall persevere to try and get it right going forwards!
They’re not in a great position in the power levels of 2.0: the last a FAQ was a big hit stopping cyberthurgy in opponents turn and they were already not great outside of myrmadon spam (which is so good it can’t be played expecting your opponent to enjoy the game)
Which is really sad because mechanicum are the only decently balanced non marine army in the game. Ive watched every militia battle report on youtube and they just won their first ever on the entire site on winters channel like a month or two ago since the edition started back in 2022. I dont think ive ever seen solar auxilia win this edition either. Demons only seem to win when spamming their op characters and archdemons/sovereigns. Custodes are the only strong non marine army and they seem to do alright for themselves, have had fun playing them at least. Its one of the things im most frustrated with this edition. If you arent playing marines you’re playing at such an obvious disadvantage that most armies dont get the freedom to use their more fun or unique stuff. Most armies actually had some punch in 1st edition and outside of marines so much of it was removed. Im probably one of the few people that actually is looking forward to a new edition for Heresy just so the armies I love can actually get a rework. I dont even want most of the core rules to change, the balance is just that dire for so many factions.
Seems like in turn 1 (got to the end of that ATM) you seemed to forget that the mauler bolt cannons on the Thanatars are twin linked. So you forgot to reroll the misses. Additionally on DG turn 2 when the Castellax moved a reaction. Remember you still must keep 1" from enemy models. As such they might have been a bit further away from that objective
@BearfootMiniatures I was close to doing them as a legion as I have classic/ heresy scheme fw bits for them ( 5x shroud, Legion contemptor and leviathan) but I already have too many legions
Grave warden terminators have shrouded in death, which forces any unit which charges them to have a disordered charge. Subtract one attack die for charge bonus.
Loving the Heresy content as a new Night Lord player. Not saw much regarding mechanicum but how do the jetpack guys move during a shooting reaction, if it was explained i must have missed it. Keep up the good work.
You get to move after shooting during a shooting phase (not just the controlling players) makes thallax super manoeuvrable and actually really fun to use for having such a unique mechanic
The Cybernetica cyberthurgy ability to ignore the first wound is of ashooting attack, not shooting phase. Was this ignored after the Dominus died; looked like the next Castellax to fall did so unnecessarily?
Love your HH BR's Max. Have great guests and awesome models and tables with great format. One of my fav channels!
Glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for the kind words! Was a really fun game to play and happy that it comes across
So much good content on the channel lately!
Glad you enjoy it mate! Need to get some Fyrd on here soon!

No worries mate! Deffo expect more mech stuff to follow over the next few weeks!
"So yeah, have it but then dont roll it". That made me laugh

I don't think I've ever seen Mechanicum win a game in the entirety of HH 2.0.

@@BearfootMiniatures ohh okay, thanks for explaining.
Another great battle report. Don’t realise how small the mechanicum is.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Small Asin model size or army numbers!?
Army numbers. Models look great.

Where is the link below for the 3d prints?
