I grew up in an Apostolic- UPC Church and left at the age of 18. I’ve recently found myself a Pentecostal Evangelical Church & we have some women pastors. I’m studying more & my eyes are being opened by God’s discernment. Your video really helped me recognize some things I’ve had blind eyes too. I wish I had a Home Church group in my area.

Derek's emphasis on the cross is timeless, and so needed today. I wish I had also heard equivalent or even greater emphasis on the resurrection. Of course, you can't get to the resurrection without first going through the cross, so the two go hand-in-hand. Still, for as little as the cross is emphasized today, it seems we hear even less teaching today on the resurrection. This is, ultimately, where He is taking us!

The charismatic churches think they have got the cross down pat. Nothing could be further from the truth

Speaking of witchcraft . . . when I was part of Mike Bickle's ministry in the 80's (KCF/MCF), I was quite alarmed when I began to be deluged with witchcraft dreams that were clearly related to the church, and very intense. Steps I took to address this didn't end up going anywhere, so I left. I do remember how much self -doubt that I had to deal with, since there were so many things happening that were really good. How could great good exist in the midst of deep witchcraft? It didn't seem possible, but it was true. Derek breaks that down nicely, here.

Wow that is very intense Daryl. I know the feeling. I've been there myself. Often thinking you are the one who is wrong. But it time the lord vindicated you indeed.

Amen brother Joshua. I pray that the church as a whole will get back to the message of the cross and the blood of Jesus. Also, your take on the amount of materials almost acts as a distraction in our personal lives. We need a disciplined walk that has daily Bible meditation and prayer.

I think Derek wrestled mightily (as I have) with issues related to authority. I understand that he got off into real extremes when he was part of the Shepherding Movement. But, he repented fully of that error. He came to see, as you pointed out, the headship of Jesus Christ in the church. A proper understanding of Christ as head cures so much of the "honor culture," "touch not God's anointed," "where's your covering, brother?" error that is prevalent today.

There’s a man on RUclips who calls himself the “Unknown Prophet.” He is telling his audience that those who disbelieve what he is saying, God knows who you are! The video is titled, “Urgent* Prayer Needed and it was posted a day ago. He added that we better not reject him or other “profits!”
    What control! EXCELLENT teaching!

Thanks again for a v informative video Joshua. This seems v common. Was in 2 churches with some v controlling leaders; manipulation, intimidation & dominant. We were afraid of them. So far as I know they didn't change, & the church didn't grow. People won't put up with this if they can help it. In another church an elder had a v controlling nature, & was a bully at times, but at other times he was kind & compassionate. As if he was a bit of a mixture, different natures, yet he was afraid of the pastor.
I'm researching some of the origins of the Charismatic movement & earlier; William Branham etc. Some very dubious spiritual influences at work in various people, which might have influenced the modern day charismatic churches. We need to be aware of what's happening & to pray, as many people don't even realise they're being used in this way.

    • @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone

Was Jesus at any point controlling or manipulative? Of course not. Those type people are of a different spirt. Jesus did get tough with people but they were often religious leaders

Pastor I haven't known you until recently but you're definitely on point with your message. Some of these pastor are working over time to rip God's people out of money and not preaching and teaching the truth of God's word. They walk away being very rich not caring about The Sheep. And when we need help they tell us that they'll pray for us! It didn't help them when they said that they needed money and neither will it help them. Please never stop telling of on them with the truth of God's Word. Amen Amen Amen

Titus chapter 1 speaks of rebellious teachers of the circumcision factions who teach human commands and things they ought not to teach for dishonest gain.
Saul made a sacrifice before the time because he didn't trust God....just as Moses struck the rock when God said speak, and Moses dishonored the Lord before the Israelites because he didn't trust God.
Saul was disqualified from being king, and Moses from entering the Promised Land in his lifetime...Samuel told Saul "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." Saul actually ended up consulting with a witch before he died.
Rebellious teachers "strike the rock" and use human commands and false prophesies to bring in the money because they don't trust the Lord. The rebellious teachers of Titus 1 were engaging in a form of witchcraft. Leading people in how to give is the role of the Holy Spirit. We teach people what scripture says about giving, we may share opportunities to give, encourage giving, especially to the poor, but must not usurp the role of the Holy Spirit in telling people how and what to give.
I had a vision a few years ago of "2 Peter 2" written in front of me. I read the passage, which is a close parallel to the book of Jude. They speak of false teachers who go the way of Balaam for dishonest gain, who are clouds without rain and waterless wells. This speaks of using false prophesies for financial gain. I think of all the prophesies "If you sow 1000 tonight, you will get the breakthrough you need." Balaam practiced divination, and this is also a form of witchcraft that is pervasive in many churches.
I work on Sundays and was trying to go to the Thursday night services just to be involved, but I always felt frustrated because I didn't feel I was being edified or edifying others. Then the Lord spoke to me so strongly about witchcraft in the offering and that if they took the offering in that way, I should never participate in their sin by giving in that offering. But I found that they always took the offering in that way, so I could never give, so why was I there?
Finally, I went on a Thursday night and I saw a vision of putrid black smoke rising as they took the offering. I just stopped going. I've been mostly finding fellowship in other contexts since then, such as home prayer meetings and missions outreaches, services on the street, etc.
I am fully convinced that even giving in a manipulative offering that involves human commands or false prophesies, is sin. The Holy Spirit is not manipulative, so if we are led by manipulation, we are not being led by the Holy Spirit. Being manipulated in our giving hinders the church from being led by the Holy Spirit. The consequence is often that the poor are neglected and very little or nothing goes towards reaching people who have never heard the gospel. I believe that from a scripture standpoint, the top priorities in relation to giving are first, caring for the poor and reaching people who have never heard the gospel.

Thank You so much, as I listened to the both of you my mind went back to a couple of things and times in my life. I didn’t know Then what I was doing but clearly seen I was doing the same thing as others within the church..But it’s as if the Lord just now opened my eyes up to this behavior and I had to repent for I didn’t know that was what I was doing way back then, and I see yet still some things that I can better improve on. This is what exactly is going on in the whole church today it’s that no one wants to call it out, no one wants to say oh! My I’ve been behaving and acting out the same as witchcraft.. who wants to think that about themselves but if the body of Christ would start recognizing that we all have fallen short of the glory of God, And everybody of believer’s just might see a great movement of God, but they will hang onto their popularity and convince themselves that they are not working within the boundaries of witchcraft and be free from it, I don’t know why people are so bent on they are always right so we need to listen to them when in access they are only fooling themselves. I don’t understand why so many can’t accept that they are infallible to the things of this world as being a human being. I want my salvation to be more important than how I feel or even think of myself. I mean you mashed on Satan’s hidden secret in the world today .. because if the people of God got a hold of who really is to running their hearts and souls then maybe more of the masses could be saved and be free, because it seems to me if witchcraft in any level has to be a hardship on our consciousness and our behavior’s are locked up in bondage and we can’t live the freedom we have in the Lord. This to me opened my eyes wide up, and I couldn’t help but think this is the answer! Exspose the sin, bring us back to the most important thing there is; the cross of Jesus Christ where Grace abounds more than any great sin we have in our lives, let’s try LOVING JESUS MORE THAN OURSELVES.. so thank you I hope you will be opening up more About this it feels like it’s going to be more needed on it for it to sink in better. We are so hard headed.. ✝️🛐☺️🕊️🕊️🕊️ at the cross at the cross where I first saw the light, and all my old burden’s rolled away.. need to get out some more old Hymns and remind a few folks 🤗 God Bless you Joshua… ❤❤❤

Every place you can find the concept of "covering" in scripture, and every sense in which it is used, is a role that belongs to God alone in the life of a believer, with the exception of a husband "covering" his wife. The primary sense in which scripture uses the term "covering" is "atonement." Healthy relationships and accountability are right and important. But calling that "covering" has no biblical basis. It is actually usurping a role that belongs to the Lord, and it is a form of witchcraft.

As many of us know, not all preachers and teachers are what they appear to be. Some are exceptionally good at giving a delivery of a message in a way which is extremely convincing. But wrong motives may be very carefully hidden. Some are influenced by people such as William Branham, Paul Cain, and the 'Heavy Shepherding' Movement, still, and are promoting this in very subtle ways. Some may be doing this unawares, but others may have an agenda, and it's always about control.
It's absolutely essential that every one of us ask the Lord Jesus Christ Himself for MORE spiritual discernment, more wisdom and more guidance - every day.
Maybe we should all do our own investigating re whoever we really like, listen to, follow, and about their background etc, and not assume someone we really like and admire is genuine. I relied on many for far too long, and got badly burned by it.

The body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.
We have the mind and Spirit of Christ.
We are called to walk as Christ walked.
My Sheep hear my voice,it is all about doing The Lord will,to walk in the Light and in love in Spirit and in truth in Christ.
To walk in the love of God Our Father.
The people of Christ are the Family of God,the people are the Church the stones.
You know yourself your the Salvation own your own Soul is what matters.
Although love for the Lost does matter.
