Bro did not seriously end the video with "What if Tiana became white?" As if her race wasn't literally an important factor to her story but also she was based on a real life person, Leah Chase, who was a culinary legend in New Orleans.
@dansattah yeah meaning his argument is really dumb since the princess and the frog story has been told with a white girl. Not Tiana's story but still plenty of fictional white girls kissed a frog
@dansattah what I meant is that his argument was trash. Even though the other editions weren't Tiana there have been fictional white women thatve kissed fictional frogs
@@trinity9792 They're also talking SPECIFICALLY about the character Tiana. You can make a new Frog Prince movie with a white princess, but you can't race-swap Disney's Tiana, since her race is important to her character.
1. He forgot that A New Wish is a sequel not a reboot. 2. He's saying that Hazel is a black Timmy, he does realized that theres millions of godkids in the show with different races? 3. Even if Hazel isnt black, people praised her because of character and not the color. 4. The show is simply a fantastic return for TFOP after years going downhill
I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any idea what a reboot is. He also claimed Camp Coral and The Patrick Star Show were "reboots" of Spongebob, not spinoffs. He also called other sequel series "reboots," like one of the Ben 10 sequel series, and Batman Beyond.
Honestly i don't think he even watched it, most of his points are insanely easy to disprove with the simple act of looking at the characters, heck i ain't even watched it nor the original show and even i know that
It’s very obvious that he doesn’t know about the original source material, heck the other FOP content were supposed to be continuations even though Butch Hartman keeps changing his own lore especially when the original series was still running and adding more seasons and characters until he eventually leaves Nickelodeon
What ethnicity is Mr Krabs supposed to be? (Besides being a crab) He honestly gives me “grouchy white sailor” vibes than anything. Basically not really a diverse character.
I haven’t watched a single episode of the reboot but even I can tell Hazel is a completely new character! Thinking Hazel is “black female Timmy Turner” is insaneee All I’ve ever heard people say about Hazel is how she acts nothing like Timmy, and there are no visual similarities between the two, besides having a quirk with their front teeth
It's so funny how he clearly actually thought Hazel was meant to be Timmy race- and gender swapped and when he realized that she is in fact a whole other character he tried to explain that he meant that the essence of having a black girl be the main character when the original main character was a white boy is somehow the same as race swapping. Say what you will about race swapping I think it has a time and a place and can be nice for representation sometimes but you have to be actually stupid to think that there's something wrong with a main character simply being black and a girl.
I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but you seeing by the video of course and stuff said after the fact I think he’s genuinely mad that there is a black character in a main character position a white character used to be in I genuinely don’t think this is even about the characters being race swapped controversy I think he’s just genuinely kind of racist and is trying to justify it with the characters being race swapped call controversy and it’s gross
In this day and age when we have a lot of RUclips channels that does this kind of thing makes us question why is RUclips allowing this kind of behavior and what are we doing not as just fans of certain franchises or IPs but as a human being
Neither have I, and at first, I thought the same until I used my brain for one quick second. “Hold on, did they just race swap Timmy Tu- oh wait, she’s a different character? Oh… okay, that’s not bad.” Like bro, if he just had this realization, he wouldn’t have made that shitty video and gotten dunked on for it
it's satisfying how the online cartoon community came together to dunk on one guy, just shows how much this specific section of the internet is smart enough not to accept "anti-woke" BS
I guess ASK thought he could simply complain about minority representation destroying beloved franchises and garner that anti-woke crowd to feed him, like so many Star Wars channels have. Problem with that is the wide cartoon community doesn’t fall for that drivel
Can’t you guys just ignore hate, like instead of copy and pasting his ip address into the comments can’t you not give him the obvious attention he’s seeking?
Ol buddy was just chattin. He genuinely sounded like he wanted an excuse to talk bad on people of color without having any good points to cover up his hate LMAO.
Also its just wild that he keeps showing clips of ROTTMNT when now its extremely beloved in the tmnt community and there was a large movement to try and bring the show back.
It’s crazy how he said ROTTMNT was disrespectful to the creators when the franchise itself was like that from the beginning. Eastman and Laird hated the 87 series for being nothing like their vision, yet that’s what helped kick off the franchise’s success. Plus April was based on one of the creators girlfriend at the time who was biracial. So her being reinterpreted to be black isn’t being disrespectful to the character at all.
@@littlemoth4956 it is disrespectful but not for the reasons he thinks. He thinks black April is the problem when it never was. It also shows how little he understands the TMNT franchises history. There’s valid critiques to be made but not for any of the reasons he says. Plus despite the creators hating the original 80s cartoon, it was a massive success. It led the way to them making a reboot in 2003 more faithful to their vision. So a tradition was made where every TMNT cartoon is wildly different from the previous one.
I was the one who asked him his thoughts on A New Wish on Discord before the video came out, and when he said his thoughts "weren’t exactly positive" I thought maybe, JUST maybe he would have some valid reasons on why he didn’t like it… he did not.
“Weren’t exactly positive” Famous last words. People are gonna be dunking on this guy for the next couple of days, then he’s gonna be mostly forgotten besides for the video he made. And for a decently unknown RUclipsr that’s not very good for him.
@@aregularhorrorfan4184Pretty impressive for a decently unknown youtuber though. Most small creators would do anything to get some traction, and this guy does it by just being an insufferable parrot.
Something I find weird is how he mentioned Cyborg is a character he didn’t really see as black. I always thought that scene with Cyborg and Starfire was pretty impactful. They chose Cyborg for a reason for that conversation since it’s about Starfire being called an alien slur and fighting against stereotypes. The scene where Starfire is like “you know know it feels to be judged based off how you look?” And Cyborg says “of course I do” makes it clear they are referring to his race, even though he does throw in “I’m part robot” at the end. You’d have to be pretty stupid if you don’t see Cyborg’s race during that scene… Also I find it really weird how he doesn’t have a consistent art style for his little sona. At that point just don’t have one…
Its funny how these people bring up the same black characters saying how their race didnt matter when every example he picked had that exact thing be a big part of who they are.
He’s not saying the race doesn’t matter to him. He’s saying he never saw them as BLACK, implying that there’s something bad about being black, implying he’s RACIST
He states in a comment Hazel is a race-swap of Timmy Turner because we cannot ever have black characters share similar roles as white characters. Not even original black characters. Which basically suggest he's saying in the Fairly OddParents universe, only white kids are allowed to have fairies.
Oh, let's not forget that he put Uncle Ruckus in the segment of "not seeing characters for their race." Yet, Uncle Ruckus is a character who spends every single episode that he appears in hammering in his views on race. And then there was the one part of the video that was so messed up that ASK Air actually cut it out after it was posted: It was a small edited clip of the Family Guy intro where every character was in blackface except for Cleveland who was white. And that guy still has the nerve to triple down on his views when called out by people like Johnny2Cellos.
6:10 I just realized that he calls Kamp Koral and The Patrick Show "Reboots". I already knew that he had no freaking clue what he was talking about, but this one's something else.
Another thing that puts the salt in the wound is that Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show are NOWHERE NEAR close to the definition of a reboot, they're more so a prequel than anything The main show even talks and mentions about the 2 spinoffs like it all happened within the past, the characters in Kamp Koral are young and even in The Patrick Star Show it shows SpongeBob's house being built and in the middle of construction
And the fact that he used an old clip of Stephen Hillenburg in an interview years ago really says something about him. Butch Hartman is executive producer so he’s somewhat involved with the show despite what everyone else says about him and the things he’s done prior
Considering that they brought back Dale Dimmadome a character who only appeared in one episode the makers of this show clearly know a lot about the source material, and you know what that shouldn't matter - what should matter is to make a good show on it's own merits - and Hazel isn't just a black girl Timmy she is incredible selfless, good at school, and a much better relationship with her parents - I can't get how terrible that video is at video analyzing
As another content creator tackling this same guy pointed out, Hazel is a legacy character, the successor to the past character. In this case, she succeeds Timmy as the Fairy godkid.
That’s actually a really great point! Saying that Hazel is just “race swapped gender swapped Timmy Turner” because they’re both Cosmo and Wanda’s godkid (and the protagonist) would be like calling Stephanie Brown a “gender swapped Dick Grayson” because they were both Robin’s
I'm a big comics head and I hear this kinda shit all the time. They say "Race shouldn't matter!" But also, throw tantrums when anything based off an pre existing IP with nonwhite leads get popular (The characters don't even have to be new!). The quality of the art never truly matters to people like that. A show, book, movie, game could be amazing or trash and the argument will always focus more on characters of color just being there than the actual art itself. How the characters of color are presented never matters either. They could be raceswapped, a new character, part of an existing IP or not the criticism never really goes beyond "I'm just tired of all the 'shallow forced diversity' in media : (" When they see characters like Hazel, Miles Morales, or Kamala Khan get popular, they cry "Representation doesn't matter, relatability does." because they just can't get past their own biases and nostalgia to enjoy something new and they can't possibly imagine anyone who isn't from the exact same background as these characters relating to them because they don't, they won't even bother giving it a fair chance. They'd rather bitch, moan, whine, complain, and keep moving the goal post to avoid facing the fact that their ideas about race in media are antiquated at best and flat out racist at worst. They just straight up don't want think about race or anything that doesn't really affect them at all ever and they certainly don't want to see it in their cartoons. All those arguments from A.I.R and people like him really just boil down to "I don't care about this so why should anyone else?" Also, it's Funny how A.I.R. claims to be a Static fan while sounding just like the people who hated Mcduffie's JLA run for being "Too Black" and the comic shop owners who never promoted milestone books because they didn't want people thinking they "Only sold Black comics." I promise you, 15 - 20 years from now, when another Black lead is in something, people like this will point to Hazel and say "She's one of my favorite characters growing up and I didn't see her as Black!" The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I was expecting his channel to be about "anti-woke" stuff. You know, the channels crying about medias that have gay, poc or disabled characters and saying is bad because of that but no, its just a channel about animation. Well, except that video, who knows what kind of bug pinched him
What made that "creators don't want reboots" bit so funny to me that I haven't seen anyone talking about is that the creator bust image A.I.R uses to prove his point shows Lauren Faust. That Lauren Faust. Y'know the creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? Otherwise known as MLP gen *4* ? Not only a reboot but the *fourth in the franchise* ?! The take is so goofy that his own "proof" debunks it! (≧▽≦) 8:39
Never mind he also included Craig McCracken, who is currently working on a PPG reboot and John K, who had full and complete control over Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon - the actual worst reboot ever made.
I'm a younger white guy and race swapping is something that bothers me, but what bothers me WAY more is when people try and use the braindead argument "Well what if we make this black character white?" That isn't, and never has been a valid argument. Races swapping hole problem is when its done for nothing other than diversity, Velma is such a perfect example of why it shouldn't be done to a show or character that has been another race through a franchises history, It doesn't add or change anything but give creators the excuse to say their new show is inclusive and diverse. Back to the "Why don't we make a black character white" Argument, that I already said is moronic, but me personally I have family from New Orleans and so Princess and the Frog genuinely one of my favorite Disney movies ever, and on top of it Tiana is my favorite princess. Race swapping her would be at that point a entire new level of disgusting and disrespect. The fact he ends the video with "What if we race swap Tiana?" Actually infuriates me on such an absurd level.
Plus, Tiana is based on an actual person - Leah Chase - who is a chef in New Orleans and is also black. The reason why we won't "race swap" Tiana is because it would be blatantly disrespectful to Leah.
Anyone remember that Teen Titans episode where Starfire was a victim of Space racism? The random Alien man was throwing Alien slurs right at her. And because it was an alien language, none of the Earthlings knew it was a slur and mistook it as a nickname. And started to call Starfire the slur. Cyborg had an amazing heart to heart conversation with Starfire. He was devastated that he, and the rest of the Titians were tricked into calling Starfire a cruel name that was racisit. He gave a pretty good pep talk.
going into Spongebob and Hillenberg, I think the biggest problem he had for the future of the show as a marine biologist was the idea of Spongebob merch polluting the ocean.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 Okay. So Doktor Skipper made a video detailing how Godzilla doesn’t work in America. A lot of his points didn’t make a lot of sense and it was clear he didn’t do a good job of researching if any of his points were justified or plausible.
A.S.K. Air also dunked on Rise of the TMNT and Mutant Mayhem saying that Apirl shouldn't be black and that Raph shouldn't be the leader in Rise. The guy is a literal nostalgia blind bat who loves TMNT 2003 more than any other incarnation and believes that's what the franchise should always be. How low must he go? A.S.K. Literally, almost every show we've watched over the past 20 years has been rebooted or remakes of shows from the mid 80's to the late 90s now stretching into the mid 2000's and he brings up how most of them are hated. It's honestly rare to get an original show, and now that we've had our fair share of original shows in the early to mid 2010's those shows are getting reboots and continuations.
Lol him showing Mr Krabs as one of his favorite "non white" characters got me! Next thing you know, bro would be talking about race mixing, and showing Spongebob as one of his favorite "race mixed" characters.

Dude is a gatekeeper. He's the type of person who thinks that art should be great and get better but shouldn't change in anyway. All he wants is more of what he's already had at the same quality and that isn't possible for something that gets churned out as fast as commercial entertainment. He's also one of those races blind folk that refuse to see race even when it's a celebration of or a real depiction of an experience that is not his own. Also, he acts like race swapping Tiana is going to do something when she was a departure of the norm. People who think like this I can't help but ask if they have ever been the minority in a room before?
Nothing wrong with gatekeeping, Gatekeeping is important if you want to preserve your franchise and to prevent it from being ruined by tourists who want to turn it into something that it is not, dumbing it down and making it a worse version of itself. He is just an idiot who's too invested in stuff he does not understand, it's really that simple. He's just stupid, i do not get the impression that he's a gatekeeper at all as someone who gatekeeps my favourite franchises he comes across more as a tourist who does not understand the franchise he's even trying to preserve.

It's weird how reviewers like that guy never seem to see race when it's important to the character, but are up in arms whenever a character just... isn't white. Like you said, it's blatantly obvious he never watched the show and just fired from the hip over seeing a black lead character. It's a complete embarrassment when he says he didn't see characters like Cyborg or Static as black, but if this video of his is any indication, he probably didn't watch those shows either.
For the record, calling "A New Wish" a reboot isn't inherently wrong necessarily. It's a soft reboot in the same vein that Tekken 3 is a soft reboot for the Tekken series or Batman Beyond is a soft reboot of the series. Like A New Wish, there is definitely continuity with the original source material, but the way everything is written, it doesn't require prior knowledge to enjoy the sequel series. O You definitely don't need to watch the original versions of the show to enjoy a New Wish, and I think that actually works to the show's strength. It stands on its own, but still has enough love for the original to not be a full on abandonment. What's weird, is that the Ask Air dude seems to have a problem with Hazel when the original show already showed that Timmy wasn't even the first godchild that Cosmo and Wanda had. Another thing that actually bothers me to when people complain about race swap and use April O'neil, is that it shows they don't actually know the original comics. That was actually one of the issues with April back in the day, is that there was miscommunication, and no one was really clear what she was supposed to be, and so her appearance was a little more than inconsistent. Even more annoying is that people *constantly* forget that Baxter Stockman was also race swapped in the 80s version and NO ONE complains about him there. And as a minority, I think this is something that a lot of people don't seem to realize when they make arguments about race swapping is this: because of how writers were back in the day, a lot of them just assumed "white" and "male" are the defaults for a character, so many times that these traits are not inherent to the character's existence. Versus a lot of minorities in other shows, their race or gender does play a role in the story. That's why it's so easy in many cases to change a character from white to something else, but the reverse isn't the same. The people that get angry at stuff like this don't realize their rage is misguided and don't seem to understand that the actual lazy writing was from the original writers and just assuming that other races always "needed" a reason to exist in the cast rather than just so happening to be a person of a different ethnic background.
The artstyle is my favorite part! I haven't watched it yet, but I LOVE this art style and animation. I was worried at first because on stills it's not that impressive, but seeing it in motion is wonderful. As for the original poster, blegh, he's just another "woke this woke that" parrot. Brainless with a canned buzzword vocabulary.
He must’ve looked into the Grifter’s Playbook by every single anti-woke RUclips grifters like Nerdrotic, Geeks + Gamers, Critical Drinker, Clownfish TV, etc.
If one says “I don’t see Blade/Cyborg/Static as Black” but gets angry at Timmy being “race swapped” then they saw Timmy as white and do see race. It’s that easy. If you (hypothetical ‘one’) didn’t see Timmy as white you wouldn’t be angry about him being Black now (which he isn’t but that’s not the point).
12:32 … why did he add Mr. Krabs to him liking characters of different ethnicities? Is this a headcannon that I don’t know of that? What race is Mr. Krabs
What's not faithful about it? The fact that all the original characters who are back or are mentioned aged? The fact that it's somewhat has a plot and a semi villain or the fact that Cosmo and Wanda found a new God kid?
I usually never defend tone policing and I’m always the first one to yell but the casual and chill way you respond to his stupid comments sounded… almost regal. Above his level.
6:21 Ngl, I for years always heard Reboot counts revivals as well. Even if it doesn’t make perfect sense through the internet. I wonder where people got that info from back then, but separating reboot and revivals makes more sense and feels more consistent. (Also yes, this definition I heard a lot also counted sequel series as well if it’s been long enough) I hope Google gets a dictionary definition for Reboot someday as I only got the computer variety when looking it up on their dictionary.
10:14 you would think he would know that considering the fact that he’s literally a BEN 10 FAN. Also he shows Batman beyond as well but that show isn’t reboot either, it’s a continuation of Batman the animated series. Like you said, this guy clearly doesn’t know the difference between a remake/reboot and a sequel.
I can’t believe he used race swap as something to criticize. She’s a completely different character. She’s not Timmy Turner. Velma on the other hand is a race swap in the new Velma. To me it just sounds like this guy is completely racist or is completely ignorant of what a race swap is.
Honesly, it's so funny to me that he thinks the original wasn't super wacky and fun because yes, the better seasons of fairly oddparents WAS that. The whole point is that it's a child, someone with boundless imagination and lessons to learn could make wacky, fun, and even troubleseome wishes. The whole point was creative freedom in plot points and stories, but the original fairly oddparents still did well to teach lessons. And while i haven't seen last wish yet, i see the heart of the original in parts people have complimented about it. And i think it's done the original some good justice. It goes to show people like him don't really understand what they're talking about, or watch it for that matter. Everything i have seen has proven the writers listened to the complaints from the later seasons of the original. Such as Cosmo and Wanda's relationship and traits being flanderized. Like i think bro just missed the point of art. Also the whole race thing had me DYING. Like yes there are writers who do that for the sake of doing it. But this is not the case and Hazel is literally her own person. And Static??? Not black???? BROOOOO????
One of my favorite bits of irony in that review is that most of the buzz I saw about New Wish was fear that Hartman would be involved creatively, given how hard he fell off as a writer and became a crazy theocracy man.
11:37 “when everything is racial that’s the only thing I can see when watching” and there lies the issue. I’m glad that he admitted that because the truth is it doesn’t matter how good a show is, how good the writing is, or how good the character is because it will never be good enough to a person who is bias. Is everything racial or are you so bothered by the main character being black, to the point that it’s the only thing you can focus on? Where you can’t even acknowledge how good the show is or give credit where it’s due?
One thing that ticks me off the most is that he's trying to get sympathy from fans of other series by referencing stuff like Teen Titans Go or Spongebob spin-offs so that he'd get more support
13:36 that’s probably the best thing and decision Butch has done over a decade 😂 He thought A New Wish was going to be a good series and love the new art style and characters. He was actually correct. The writers artists did an amazing job
I think what really tells you this person was looking for an excuse to talk about this subject only to be racist without even realizing it, is the fact he took 0 accountability for his actions despite this generally being a more minor incident in the grand scheme of things if he was giving his honest feelings about the show and its productions
Honestly as someone who's actually watching A New Wish, if Hazel has to be called/seen as so similar to a character that she's somehow "the black [that character]" it'd be more accurate to compare her to Chloe really. Because she legit reminded me of Chloe Which isn't a bad thing bc I liked Chloe and honestly thought she /could/ have worked if the show's writing quality wasn't in the gutter by that point. Literally "Spunky hyperactive kid with a tooth gap who has trouble making friends after she moved to Dimmsdale." That's Chloe not Timmy
@@Animefan24711 I'm genuinely curious as to why A.S.K thought that edit was a good idea. I haven't watched the video on it yet, but one of his more recent videos is about TMNT 2012 and its downfall. It seems a bit poetic that he claims that all reboots past 2010 are garbage but also makes a video before publicizing that claim that directly implies that a 2012 reboot was actually good at some points.

14:46 (this guy sucks but there is one legitimate critique I can think of.) I hate the way Hazel gets Cosmo and Wanda... I mean timmy had to deal wirh neglectful parents, a psychopathic babysitter, his crush (Trixe) didn't even know he exists, a bully that would beat on him any chance he got and was also extremely unpopular in shcool. in comparison Hazel... Moved to a new city and her bother leaves for college... (Which he quickly comes back later in the session anyway). Thats really my only critique though, the show is really good! Just dont like that one aspect of It.
I mean yeah, Cozmo and Wanda weren't assigned to Hazel but that's not really what I meant. I mean Hazel doesn't NEED fairies is what I'm trying to say. Just because she's a little lonely and in an unfamiliar place she gets the power to wish for whatever she wants? I do like hazel as a character tho, I just wished they made her a tad more miserable to show why she deserves fairies in the first place.
My only real issue with this show actually has nothing to do with Hazel, it's the fact that they reused Cosmo and Wanda rather than use new fairies. And without addressing clearly why they left Timmy when a big part of the orignal show was how close the three were to the point that Jorgon bended the rules for them. Also in the original fairy tale the princess was white
@@trinity9792 So? It was a fairy tale, meaning that the author is unknown and that it's been in the public domain throughout all of human history.

I haven’t watched a single episode of the reboot but even I can tell Hazel is a completely new character! Thinking Hazel is “black female Timmy Turner” is insaneee
All I’ve ever heard people say about Hazel is how she acts nothing like Timmy, and there are no visual similarities between the two, besides having a quirk with their front teeth

You’d have to be pretty stupid if you don’t see Cyborg’s race during that scene…
Also I find it really weird how he doesn’t have a consistent art style for his little sona. At that point just don’t have one…

They could be raceswapped, a new character, part of an existing IP or not the criticism never really goes beyond "I'm just tired of all the 'shallow forced diversity' in media : ("
When they see characters like Hazel, Miles Morales, or Kamala Khan get popular, they cry "Representation doesn't matter, relatability does." because they just can't get past their own biases and nostalgia to enjoy something new and they can't possibly imagine anyone who isn't from the exact same background as these characters relating to them because they don't, they won't even bother giving it a fair chance. All those arguments from A.I.R and people like him really just boil down to "I don't care about this so why should anyone else?"
Also, it's Funny how A.I.R. claims to be a Static fan while sounding just like the people who hated Mcduffie's JLA run for being "Too Black" and the comic shop owners who never promoted milestone books because they didn't want people thinking they "Only sold Black comics." I'm a younger white guy and race swapping is something that bothers me, but what bothers me WAY more is when people try and use the braindead argument "Well what if we make this black character white?" That isn't, and never has been a valid argument.

Hazel is not a race swap, she's legit a total separate character, the original reviewer is tweaking
From the creators of "Nostalgia Good Reboot Bad" comes "Black Characters suck because they're black"

I haven't seen a cartoon reviewer get this much heat since Mr Enter's 9/11 Turning Red take.
BTW, why dose everybody hate Ben 10 2016? Nobody ever goes in depth about why it's bad beyond "the artstyle sucks"
BROOOOO????
Everybody was ready to make money off this man 🦅
To be fair the other guy is probably also making a lot of money
Which was maybe a thing he wanted to do on purpose
16:53 If theyre a good character, theyre race shouldnt matter, but if they are a bad character then it does💀🙌🏾We'll never win
Im so glad he made his video. I LOVE when trash takes itself out
One of my favorite bits of irony in that review is that most of the buzz I saw about New Wish was fear that Hartman would be involved creatively, given how hard he fell off as a writer and became a crazy theocracy man.
easy "logic" here: i hate Timmy and I enjoy Hazel. Done. Not the same.
I can't imagine what possessed him to think Uncle Ruckus was a good character to put in that list
Because she legit reminded me of Chloe
Which isn't a bad thing bc I liked Chloe and honestly thought she /could/ have worked if the show's writing quality wasn't in the gutter by that point.
Literally "Spunky hyperactive kid with a tooth gap who has trouble making friends after she moved to Dimmsdale."
That's Chloe not Timmy
I don’t know if I should be disappointed or relieved that you didn’t catch the video when the blackface Family Guy edit was still in it.
Bro what😭😭
@@CorinXVCartoonshi has the clip in his video it was BAD
@@Animefan24711 I'm genuinely curious as to why A.S.K thought that edit was a good idea. If it was to illustrate that race-swapping is bad, making every character black and Cleveland white was *not* the way to go.
Blackface isn’t even race-swapping; it's literally just white people putting make-up on to look stereotypically black. The fact the person isn't actually black is the whole point of the practice.
@@CorinXVI'm not kidding. His video used to have an edit of the Family Guy theme song where everyone is black and Cleveland is white.
It was removed for obvious reasons but Cartoonshi responded back when the edit was still in the video. Watch Cartoonshi's response if you wanna see the edit for yourself.
12:34 was hoping you’d catch/call out the fact he put UNCLE RUCKUS as one of his favorite characters😭
That shii was brazy😭🙌🏾wish I was surprised
The sad reality of it is that ask air or whatever his name is did watch the same show as us, bro just couldn’t stop getting distracted by a main character being black
7:14 is not a theory either, it's a hypothesis, theories are not speculation
I haven't watched the video on it yet, but one of his more recent videos is about TMNT 2012 and its downfall. It seems a bit poetic that he claims that all reboots past 2010 are garbage but also makes a video before publicizing that claim that directly implies that a 2012 reboot was actually good at some points.
It's crazy to me how many people are out there that just are like,
'NO ONE IS SAYING WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID. LET ME DELIVER GARBAGE TAKES ABOUT A THING I DON'T LIKE'
and then it's a complete dumpster fire, but they're still so adamant they're right.
Seeing this art style started to be remind me slightly of fanboy and Chum chum
Yeah mix it with a code of paint
@@jethrohenderson4968 and low fps
Also Uncle Ruckus from the Boondocks is a terrible example to explain what characters you like
so basically a grifter trying to bait views by claiming something is just a raceswapped reboot cashgrab without even watching the show. gotcha
It’s clear that this guy didn’t really watch the show, do his research or even remember the shows very well.
I haven’t seen the new sequel Fairly Oddparents show yet but even I know that Hazel is not a black washed Timmy Turner. She’s like a different character from Timmy not just appearance wise but personality wise as judging from clips I’ve seen of the sequel show, she seems like she’s nicer than Timmy was. I feel like either Ask Air is racist or he’s just smoking some crack
How is she different?? she's a combination of Timmy & Chloe.
I don’t know. As I mentioned in the comment I have not seen the show only like clips so I can’t really explain much other than her being nice. Maybe once I get around to watching it I’ll reply to this
@@elongatedmanforever1252Timmy was basic 2000s boy and rude. Also what personality did Chloe have. Anyway hazel often sees herself more mature but has anxiety and more internal problems than external. Different from Timmy already and there’s more I could say but I don’t need to.
I said it in AlphaJay's video's comments, and I'll say it here. Don't tell Air that April was black in the OG TMNT comics, he will lose it.
Hazel is not a black timmy
We need either a movie, season 6 or both for She-Ra because after years of slow burn between Adora “I have no regard for my safety as long as I can save everyone else” and Catra “I will destroy the world for you” Applesauce Meow Meow we finally got the CatrAdora kiss
Ask. Air Stuck in the Past basically in 2015-2016 when there More bad reboots then Good reboots or at least the bad ones were More noticeable however he late by 8 years if he made the Same Point about 8-9 years ago without mention A New Wish and giving Probably the Worst take that he Could've made about it.
A.S.K. Air's video is the racist equivalent of saying the original Sonic movie design was superior and that Paramount ruined it by changing it before release. No, the new version is fundamentally a massive improvement over the original in every way which 95% of viewers unanimously agree. A New Wish is objectively a great series and any problems are at worse nitpicks.
Edit: I also LOVE with that despite how controversial Butch has become it's clear he loves A New Wish just as much as the fans, which annihilates this dude's false narrative.
How anything of what the guy said
racist??
@@elongatedmanforever1252 I'm referring to A.S.K. Air. Not Corrin. I apologize if I wasn't clear.
@@elongatedmanforever1252 It might be. The new girl nothing like Timmy, Timmy was kind of an asshole. The only thing they have in common is the fact they're the protagonist of FOP IPs. If he came up with more legitimate criticisms rather than ones that could be picked apart easily, then maybe that'll give him more credibility. It could be either repressed racism or he misunderstood the material. I'm not accusing him just calling it like I see it.
Still don't like Butch as a person but I'm glad this new show seems good, separating the art from the artist and all that
@@joseantoniovargas6548 And the best part is he didn't write for a new wish which is already an improvement.
All my homies love Corin
Yesssss yessss more! Give me more ask air roast videos!!
Cartoon community jumping bro 😭😭
I never really thought about how flashy the og fairly odd parents was for its time, I just didn't watch this new one because it was literally just too bright for me
“Static shock isn’t black?! What’s next, the Boondocks?!”
My ass a few seconds before being mentally obliterated by the Uncle ruckus jumpscare
i didnt expect much when i heard what happened with FOP (havent seen the show after poofs introduction) but i gave the show a shot because i actually rly liked the artstyle and i gotta say i really liked the show. I got worried when the asmr kid was shown and jorgen dabbed but those worries legit died fast. I'm glad the show was as enjoyable as it was and i do hope it gets another season i think it deserves it.
also hazel is legit a joy to watch she's very endearing and while its been a while i do think i prefer her to timmy
The show is mid imo, it's just using
The same characters & doing nothing new with them.
@@elongatedmanforever1252buddy it’s a kid show. You’re acting like you’re about to get a soap opera. “The show is mid” maybe it’s because you’re an adult watching a kid show expecting Bojack Horseman. “Nothing new with them”. Ok so what would you want them to do?
@@elongatedmanforever1252 its fine if you think the show aint for you and all but i dont agree with the "not doing anything new" a problem with FOP was always how character development kinda got shafted because the show just wasnt serialized so some developments never got far meanwhile here we actually see that dev is actually slowly becoming another person because of said serialization, yes its nothing new in shows but its atleast new to FOP. Also can you really say they arent doing new stuff with characters when poof now has become some kind of tumblr sexy man that people started watching the show over. doing something with crocker when his entire character was being crazy is somewhat hard and vicky now atleast tortures children in general and not only timmy.
@@elongatedmanforever1252 bro is trolling
@@littleregg3164
Nope not trolling.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off mentioned, goated as hell

(this guy sucks but there is one legitimate critique I can think of.)
I hate the way Hazel gets Cosmo and Wanda...
If they were assigned to Hazel, I'd agree, but Cosmo and Wanda chose to be Hazel's fairies in the first episode.
Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood isn't a reboot!
It's a far more faithful adaptation of the manga than the 2003 anime
Six different youtubers have made a video about this, it’s only been four days since A.S.K air uploaded his video.
That what is happens when we anger the bad people (they are good but their anger is inevitable)
My only real issue with this show actually has nothing to do with Hazel, it's the fact that they reused Cosmo and Wanda rather than use new fairies. And without addressing clearly why they left Timmy when a big part of the orignal show was how close the three were to the point that Jorgon bended the rules for them. Now with that said I can see there is a clear attempt to serilize the show and that they have plans for the future. With two of Timmy's most personal villians now in the show the question of why he's not around NEEDS to be answered.
Aside from that though I've found myself really enjoying what I've seen and there is a curosity to check out the show in full brewing in me now. Also it goes without saying this guy's so called "Review" is really stupid and he needs to see a shrink.
