On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago IL on 8-30-23.
We're looking at a 1972 Buick GS Gran Sport 455 Stage 1 in Black Paint. The car comes with the 455 CI V8 engine and an automatic transmission.
The car's Owner is Dennis Doerge. Dennis’ had this car since 2022. He shares he heard that this former Buick Dealer had this Buick with under 15,000 original miles for sale. The car was stored for over two 10 year periods. After he purchased the car, he drained the gas, worked on the brakes, replaced the fluids, polished the paint, cleaned the carburetor, and now it’s running like a brand new car. Amazing to see this car with so few miles on it. This car looks and rides like it’s showroom new.
ENJOY!
Hi, If you like this video, please click on SUPER THANKS ❤ with the $ in the middle which is the SUPER THANKS button under the video. Thank you! Lou
Survivors are drivers, and in Mr. Doerge's capable hands (and right foot!) this Buick will be a treat for all to see and hear. Thanks, Lou!
Stunning 72 GS Stage1 car! As a retired Buick Service Director , I remember these so well, and you seldom saw them even when new. I was lucky enough to have a dark green 1971. This generation of Buick A bodies drove so well.
Dennis has a diamond !! Love the Buick Stage 1 cars for giving you exactly what he says… a luxury MUSCLE car ! Gorgeous survivor 👍🏼👍🏼
Gorgeous survivor! I’m just blown away that it’s less than 15 K miles ! WOW!!!! I think you said it best Lou…. a “time capsule” !
😍Beautiful Buick GS👍
Beautiful survivor. Original cars are extra special.
But how good does this 1972 Buick GS Stage 1 look, in black! The paint simply shone like a mirror in the sunlight! I liked the detail of the exhausts (a rare option) that pass through the striking chrome bumper. A very nice and comfortable interior, with quite nice touches, such as the three different materials on the doors (vinyl, wood and carpet) or the elegant instrument panel decorated in chrome and wood (special mention, for that cover of the radio cassette with the Buick logo). The behavior of the vehicle, as seen in the final ride, is simply superb. It is, as you mentioned, riding in a powerful car with the comfort of a luxury one! Congratulations to your owner, and best regards, Lou!
Thanks for sharing this gorgeous GS with us! Only thing I would add is that any GS, whether 350, std. 455, or Stage 1, was standard with front disk brakes in '72.
I miss my 72 Buick, that I did have. This one is gorgeous!!!!
Love the Buicks and Olds featured on the channel 👍
Lou, you had me at black. Oh, how I love some black cars! I currently have a black car and just adore it and work like the dickens to keep it looking showroom new even as it has 8 calendar years of life - 2016 model built in June of 2015. As always your channel is special and you are the man when it comes to being able to relate to the owners and to show enthusiasm that us car guys can appreciate!
NICE car ! I owned a '68 GS400 convertable, LOVED IT !
Beautiful GS Survivor ! Thanks for posting Lou and Dennis !
Beautiful car thank you Lou.
Beautiful Buick 😍😍😍😍😍 Thanks Lou!
Lou, you said it all with, "That's Buick perfection" ! Thanks for another great ride.
Dennis always brings the HEAT! The Originals are the BEST! Thanks Lou.
Great Buick. Ty Lou
What a great-looking car and great engine sound! Triple-black and original! The black paint makes it look real menacing. Thanks for sharing, Lou!
