Wonderful! This is how American farming should still be. Our rural communities and country would be so much better off. In the meantime thank you so much for the memories.

The Massey Harris is a thing of beauty , little bit of a problem with the straw hanging up , the young man was doing a grand job . The Massey Ferguson bagger was a thing of beauty too .

I recall some of these classic combines threshing in the good old days.

Wow! How I remember this combine back when I was like 12 maybe and this machine was new and the first on the farm,
My Grandad let me take the controls for a couple minutes I have never forgot this at my age now of 83,

State of the art, much, much better than the Mcormick 5ft binder we had.

Them reels seem to b going to fast

yes, it never ceases to amaze me how many combine drivers have the reel set too low and too fast, it should be only slightly faster than forward travel and just catch the heads to flick them gently onto the table as the stem is cut for a nice even flow up to the drum.

My granddad had a Massey Harris my dad said it had a Morris engine in it

      Quite possibly a Morris engine.
The Morris commercial truck engine was also fitted to early Nuffield tractors. Starting up on petrol then when warm ran on tractor vaporising oil. TVO

That would have been a 726 combine, there was a choice of TVO engines, the other was the Austin Newage 4 lite 6 cylinder, this austin engine was still an option right through to the 788.

Used to get very hot these engines and I remember them catching fire , the barley awns used to pile up on the exhaust manifold , the piece of canvas at front of straw walkers would also get burnt !!
