That is SUCH a cool thing to say-and unnervingly true. It did it to me but boy am I mad this didn't happen decades ago. Why not? I blame the UK for keeping them out of the mainstream forever, but I'm also an idiot here too.
I found sparks on a compliation album for glam rock and one boring holiday I played this town on a loop (I’m autistic so sometimes I play things on a loop to feel the stimulation) and I soon began looking and listening to the back catalogue
In another FFS interview Alex said when he first met Russell and Ron they talked about working together and then Sparks sent the song "Piss Off" to Franz Ferdinand. XD Later they met again and decided to make the collaboration, and what do Sparks do? They send the song "Collaborations Don't Work". XD XD
@@boredweegie553 Disagree. About the "fun" part. They have so many songs with a depth that grabbes on to you, if listening. They often cover depth with humor. The shades... No, but it looks odd.
I can hear some slight Scottish twang in Alex's accent when he talks and I expected that when I went to listen to him speak with his normal speaking voice since he moved to live in Scotland when he was 7.
Oy, FF boyband bloke, actually "spectacularly bad" is pretty much ALL that ever happens and they can talk as they part of it generally, though their collaboration with these dudes at least makes me tolerant of them-for that one album anyway. But 1990 onwards sucks as almost everything does that passes for 'music'.
Ron is a hidden gem.
Ron is a national treasure!!
You don’t go out to find Sparks’ music. Sparks’ music find you.
That's so true! It's also how I became a huge fan.

Such a great idea putting these two bands together, they worked so perfectly together . ❤❤❤❤☺️
I'd really also love to be in a position that I can say: "I really love Sparks." and then a meeting with them is arranged!
My daughter also listens to 'Sparks, because of me and she says your music is brilliant!!!

Brings back many memories!!!
Hes right Sparks very unique I've been a fan since a kid!
Ron visually is giving off a very John Waters vibe to me. Even his speech and mannerisms are similar.
And same silly little moustache; Ron"s "Hitler" moustache of days gone by was better
@@ethericboy *Charlie Chaplin moustache
John Waters is a very nice guy too 😊
Collaborations Don't Work is a great song.
Thanks for the vid 👍

Great clip! Thanks!
omg i didnt know they collaborated
The album is great, certainly would recommend!
I heard FFS couple years ago, now i've rediscovered Sparks through Annette (which i hated, but it *was like anything else ive ever seen before* )
FFS - clever band name.

Cant take Russell seriously with those sunglasses. 😁
That's the point though.Theyre not to be taken seriously.Theyre all about fun.

They are a bit much in an interview, a sit-down interview for that matter.
The question is: Why does he wear them? What does he want to hide?
Ron so reminds me of R Crumb.

He doesnt have accent really, I mean I can understand him. Listen to his mate Paul, that is hard to me or watch trainspotting 🥴
Haha while one talk , other so silent and funny
that one on the right looks like from pet shop boys video "i wouldnt normally do this kind of thing" :)
not sure...:) it was in 1993 :)
yes, young offender
"That one on the right" is Russell Mael, Ron Mael in the middle, the Sparks part of FFS.
"That one on the right". Get a grip man!
Russellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Why are people here saying "that guy on the right"?? You stumble into wrong video coz clearly you know fk all about sparks 😣
By "people" you mean "Zac Dior" ofcourse and an impatient guy because Russel does speak in the video
True, its not a guy, its an alien.

Doesn't the guy on the far right in the sun glasses 😎 speak? 🤔
He does at 5:30. Not a patient person r u?
you´d be surprised if you watched some sparks interviews... xD
Usually it’s Ron who’s silent
so sad to see Sparks wasting time with a so overrated band like FF...
+Florent QUESNEL FF are a pretty good band! i think ffs worked really well (8
son...if they see potential in it, let them go forward. do you not wish for them to perform in a newer, reinvigorating style?
well that would be good too of course but ffs was quite creative stuff - very different sparks' stuff from recent years
+Dominic Foxx did I respond to the wrong person? this new yt formatting creates some awkward stuff lol
haha sorry xD i'm bad at responding on here it is confusing isnt it
