This concert was back at 1998. You have to understand that at that time China just got introduced to modern music industries. Therefore, Chinese people were not really familiar with western style live performances so they just tended to focus on the vocalist and not paying respect to the rest of the team.
Thank you, Logan. I'm actually glad that you can be critical sometimes and I agree with you on this one. Faye Wong was obviously the star here and it's her people paid to see, but the production team should gave more credit to the whole band.
I understand your frustration about hiding the musicians. It was a commercial concert back in the 90's days ('98-'99) which were more focused on visual performance rather than musicians. I really hope that things would have change in the last decade, Cheers!
Glad you liked her cover but I do agree with the lack of respect for the band in a lot of Chinese artist live shows. Lots of celebrity worship in East Asia and focus on who brings on the big bucks.
they neglected the other musicians mostly during the time, in the greater China region. It was the time to produce Super stars to make big money. I guess audience at the time weren't as rich as people are now. by making other musicians invisible, could maximize the income due to the super star heat? I guess. musicians were amazing without doubts.

Thank you. I personally think Faye wong did sing this song in an unique way however she sang it too lightly
