@@obsidian7644 When did stores require subscription services? wtf? I feel lucky to live in a country where you just enter the store if you want to buy something
WRONG. It is NOT "all" on a store-to-store basis. It is ILLEGAL for them to prevent you from accessing a pharmacy. Doesn't matter which store it is, they will NOT stop you from going to the pharmacy. Costco makes this VERY clear in their personnel training. As soon as you say the word "pharmacy" they are legally required to let you inside. You've never been stopped in this situation and you'll never see anyone else stopped in this situation. Imagine someone picking up their heart medication dying in front of the store because they were denied entry. Try thinking a little.
@coryspatter1336 I assure you, they don't care about policy much until someone gets hurt or sued. Or better yet if corporate comes into store, then everyone needs to work as fast as possible to make the store appear to care about policies.

I miss how they used to list the sizes of clothes available on the price sign so you don't have to go looking through all the clothes to see what sizes they have. I don't know why they stop doing that.
Most of the people I know wouldn’t buy a friend a gift card even if they paid them back because “we pay for a membership so you have to as well.” That’s a direct quote from a woman I know who charged someone $7 because they used some of her seasonings for 2 nights. She got her virtual receipt and dived the spices by like 10 and came up with $7.
You can get someone to buy you a gift card for Costco, but you have to get a temporary membership if you want to make a purchase and you can only do that twice before your expected to get your own membership. It might vary by store but I believe is the actual policy. I was shocked when I found out couldn’t at the gas bar as much as I needed but to use it to shop was another thing entirely.
It’s a private membership warehouse. It’s not open to the public. Anyone can get a membership it’s $60 a year. You can buy in bulk in this store, unlike a grocery store at cheaper prices.
Depending on the store, you might get hassled for only having a gift card and no membership. So that part truly varies store to store.
Because of that, I always just make sure I go to Costco with your mother because she has a Costco membership

Do people need a membership in order to enter Costco or am I trippin?
Please I’m also trying to figure this out
Yes you can enter bc the pharmacy deosnt require a membership but products you need a membership unless you have a Costco shop gift card.
@@obsidian7644 When did stores require subscription services? wtf? I feel lucky to live in a country where you just enter the store if you want to buy something
You can also say you want to go to the food establishment if theres one inside and also that your getting alcohol i believe.
As a non American I find this very helpful
Why is this man not already hired as the Costco spokesperson? This man loves Costco more than most people love their own friends.
As someone from Europe this store is very confusing
Bro fusing a supermarket and pharmacy is so weird to me
All of this is on a store to store basis. Please don't expect this to work everywhere.
It's costco policy. If you get stopped because you only have a costco gift card. Talk to a manager or corporate.
Should he pay with only the gift card ? Can he pay with a credit card and use the gift card infinite times
Can I use the gift card to buy foods at cafeteria?
@coryspatter1336 I assure you, they don't care about policy much until someone gets hurt or sued. Or better yet if corporate comes into store, then everyone needs to work as fast as possible to make the store appear to care about policies.
A membership is so cheap and worth it.
Nah I walked right in and went straight to the food court through self checkout.
Right? No one says a word to you. It is literally how you go in to even get a membership.
my Costco requires us to scan our membership when paying at the food court....
Gatekeeping groceries is wild
A hack video with actual insights! What a pleasant surprise
I never shop there, but great info for those that do
They might scan cards now.
This was pretty damn useful, thanks.
Wait, so im in france so i dont really know how costco work but what is all this story with membership ??
Costco makes it's money on membership. You buy the items wholesale. Executive membership is $135 and you get 2% cash back via check each year.
@@clbdycso if you buying whole year there you get decent sum back?
As a non-American I am so confused 1 second into this video. They wont let you in the store without a membership card? That's insane. How do they stay in business???
most people just buy the membership and with savings they aim to cover the cost of admission in cash back but most people dont even reach it so they make alot of money off of the membership also costco has alot of nice stuff
Just buy a freaking membership if you want to shop at Costco. It is not going to break the bank.
this is very informative. I had no idea
Dudes the spokesperson for Cosco.
I got into the costcos without a membership by just walking in through the exit haha
If they don't care, just go through the entrance lmao. Mine doesn't actually check cards.
Good luck paying for anything apart from a hotdog
@JoshCarterWeb a hot dog is pretty worth it though ngl
@@JoshCarterWeb pfft I don't like to buy anything. I only like to climb to the top shelf and squawk at people.
You can enter Costo from the exit side and no one will say anything. You could be going to the food court (which doesn't need a membership) or the membership kiosk. That is all. You are in.
As a non american i gotta ask...you need membership to shop at a store??
Only specific stores. They used to be for small businesses to get cheaper bulk items but have since turned into just bulk groceries shopping
Costco exists OUTSIDE the USA.
It's a wholesale warehouse chain that happens to sell to the public, not an ordinary supermarket. Also, there are a pile of them around the world - Japan has 30+ alone.
Good video I gotta watch before every visit
Just say going to pharmacy, make the rounds of free food, grab a $1.50 coke and dog on way out. Best bargain meal on planet.
Been a member over 30yrs I had no idea of the pricing secrets!
The pharmacy at costco is not only just for prescriptions, you can also buy plan b pills for much cheaper that other retail locations without a membership
Best Costco hack I ever learned was how to drive right past it, and find a little mom and pop store to shop from.
Welcome to Costco
We love you
The Costco guy before the Costco guys
Fun fact: you can also buy 1000 bottles of baby oil in bulk
You can also enter the Costco Food court without anything at all and get a 1,50$ hotdog and a poutine :>
thank you for the great information 🙏🙏🙏
Ty just got a free membership. Have to try this gc for my gf.
I miss how they used to list the sizes of clothes available on the price sign so you don't have to go looking through all the clothes to see what sizes they have. I don't know why they stop doing that.
It's all going to be on the card members record, not your gift card.
wow these are cool tips, very helpful
Budget master, respect
Most of the people I know wouldn’t buy a friend a gift card even if they paid them back because “we pay for a membership so you have to as well.” That’s a direct quote from a woman I know who charged someone $7 because they used some of her seasonings for 2 nights. She got her virtual receipt and dived the spices by like 10 and came up with $7.
That mateos salsa is so bomb
Just walk past the worker with a straight face. Worked everytime
Dude when the entry with the checkmark showed up my duolingo notification went off
You can get someone to buy you a gift card for Costco, but you have to get a temporary membership if you want to make a purchase and you can only do that twice before your expected to get your own membership. It might vary by store but I believe is the actual policy. I was shocked when I found out couldn’t at the gas bar as much as I needed but to use it to shop was another thing entirely.
This is amazing!! 🙌🏼❤️🙏 Had no idea!!!
as a non-american let me get this straight, you guys need a membership to enter a supermarket???
Not all supermarkets are like This I think, only that store is like this
When you are from europe costco its like Metro
No dumb ass just this store. Why tf would this be the norm?
the membership cost buys you a place to shop away from "urban" folks
It’s a private membership warehouse. It’s not open to the public. Anyone can get a membership it’s $60 a year.
You can buy in bulk in this store, unlike a grocery store at cheaper prices.
so cute how it swaped 20 times
i never suspected a store to exclusively have members
Bro is the king of costco
I dont even live in a country that has costco and i still watch this video
Bros got the Costco lore
people without memberships means using this you are a free loader.
