Nice tour, Jack. You read my mind. Just few days ago I decided to finally figure out "what is where"with Google maps)) You've done it much better, Thank you. 👏👏👏
NASA is unable to produce the quality content that Team NSF spits out every week. NSF is the go to for anything SpaceX related, hands down, no contest.
Awesome video NSF team! I knew everything already, but I’m sure there are many people just learning about Starship and this is a great overview of Starbase! Only thing missing is Jack asking everyone to be excellent to each other, which is one of my favorite things Jack says
Very nicely done. It’s nice to see the “big picture” of where everything sits in relationship to everything else, and get a clear definition of the role of each location! I’ve been watching for a long time, and didn’t really have things straight in my mind. This video will really help me understand what’s going on in the future!
Thanks Jack. Next how about a history of NSF. How did you start, How did all your talent come together? You literally have people from around the world participating and contributing. I'd love to hear the story.
You must have been reading my mind! Recently I've been wondering about exactly this! And it was my intention to do a search to try to learn what and where all these locations are that nsf keeps referring to. Now here you are, doing the work for me! Thanks so much and great job!
Very nice to see where the different sites you talk about are relative to each other. I had assumed Sanchez was adjacent to the build site but wasn't sure. I had assumed the Build-Sanchez complex was oriented 180 degrees and on the opposite side of the highway compared to where it actually is.
How about producing broachers and maps for tourist showing nearby hotels, restaurants and gas stations plus other nearby scenic sights and entertainment. Maybe partner with Redline. Just a randumb thought of mine since I'll be visiting soon❤
I think a lot of us texas tank watchers, since hopper day and das fans, knew the flame trench was a almost certain outcome, Elon was never fully confident, "could be a big issue" kudos for the attempt but deluge is slowing things down, so great to see the masseys test stand with cool flame trench, I do hope Elon gets more time at spacex and more more funds more cool hard working staff more materials, here enters Billy idol " more more more more more" really looking forward to the 1st test on pad b including flame trench, & oh my! No words for how excited we are for mechaziilas 1st catch attempt "excitement guaranteed" Come on flt 5
This was a great presentation of what happens on each of those work areas/lots/yards. They really do seem to have great construction managers and workflow software. Ideas for future 'unique' videos (since you are there): - ok we all saw the fiddler crabs crossing the road. How much does the local sealife get up and into these construction areas? What are the various wildlife interest groups and what are their major malfunctions? - How does Starbase expect to handle 10' or '20 storm surge from cat 5 hurricane? May as well envision maximum carnage and plan for it. So what's their plan? - can you drive into Brownsville, show us around the town a bit? Local area flavor. I would think the employees want to get out of Boca Chica once in a while. - Spacex is moving out of Californication; when is that batch of employees expected to arrive and what accomodations can they expect? Is there some giant Concierge service branch helping all these engineers and managers get situated?
Thanks NSF. I think the High Bay will be used to construct the first few iterations of the in-orbit fuel depot ship and will then get demolished for a taller Mega Bay to accommodate the Booster block 3.
So is orbtibal pad b not using the current style of olm ? Is this how they will be able to stretch the ship and booster without being taller than tower?
It seems like it will probably be a different design, but the stretching should just be possible with the current tower height. They can extend the ship/booster up while leaving the lifting points at the same height for a while before it becomes a balance issue
The factory and office buildings will be connected at some point it seems. Do you think there is any plan to connect the parking structure? Would probably have to be a tunnel though, right? Can they even tunnel based on the water table at Starbase?
Thanks, but I really would like to know what exactly lurks behind the windows on top of Highbay and the Mega Bays. Even Tim Dodd in his numerous starbase tours with Elon didn't dare to ask (or he wanted but wasn't allowed to).
I am always asking "How did we get here?" and love going to historical sites and museums. I wish Elon and SpaceX were doing more to preserve their history and present it not only at Starbase but also at other locations.
That location use to be home to the Massey's Gun Range, but SpaceX got them to move further down the road to a new location. The SpaceX area kept the name though, so it leads to an odd scenario where you have two "Massey's" on the same road, one of which basically took the name of the other lol masseysgunrange.com/
The script for this was good but I think the visuals are quite off. Ideally you should have fully situated the viewer first all the way zoomed out to the US as a whole, zoom in on Texas and specifically highlight how close to the coast and how relatively empty the surrounds are, using highway 4 to guide the tour is a great idea but you first have to *introduce* the highway and the major settlements it's near. The video as a whole is also suffering a lot from a lack of aerial or satellite views of the site and I think this is my main issue with it. It's very hard to understand a geographic location without some kind of detailed top down view and the simplified map you have just isn't very helpful for understanding where specific sections and points of interest in starbase are *especially* in relation to each other, which is really how we build up an understanding of what a place looks like. Top down views with overlaid information interspersed with aerial shots for dynamic views of specific sections once viewers are situated on a specific area would have been better overall imo, as this allows a more complete and natural understanding of an area in 3D and you guys yourselves have put out some fantastic looks at Starbase before too. Edit just to say: For me apart from just watching a lot of coverage (which is how I personally actually built up my understanding of Starbase) by far the clearest ever single look at the site for me was comparing the actual legal FAA filing/planning documents depicting the site with the aerial shots, once you know what the sites look like as a whole you can orient yourself to take in new info pretty easy. The planning docs may be very utilitarian but they're also admittedly pretty ugly and dense to look at and you guys surely could do a better job visualizing it in a way that's just as useful to look at
Soon star factory will be churning out a ship every 3 days ! And starbase will be a small city ! Would be nice to have a hotel tho for tourists and maybe some actuall restraunts and an actually road that doesnt need to be closed so often !
why megabay and not just bay 1,2 and 3? i get that it made sense calling them by their size back when their differences where realy the main point (small mid and high bay plus mega bay later on) but now with two and soon 3 mega bays its kinda redundant calling them mega xD
Just nonchalantly to say, I hope her craft parking and move on like this is not life-changing to me or anything have ever seen any of these things working around starbase lol
A factory for mass manufacturing of boosters, a factory for mass production of ships and a factory that makes manufacturing equipment parts for new starhip and booster factories. 🙄
This is about NASA Space Flight channel covering Space X progress in developing starship. If you don't care about Musk fine. I don't either. One can still appreciate what Space X is irrespective of Musk's role in it. He is only occasionally mentioned in these videos anyway.
Great tour, thanks Jack and the NSF team.
THANK YOU! This is exactly what I needed. I've found it hard to orient myself while watching the Starbase Updates and Live Views.
I've had the same question to the point where I had to search for everything on google maps to understand
A perfect Jacksplainer
Jacksplaining.
Nice tour, Jack.
You read my mind. Just few days ago I decided to finally figure out "what is where"with Google maps))
You've done it much better, Thank you.
👏👏👏
Can’t wait to visit Star base! Thanks for the info! 😄
Thanks for Jacksplaining Starbase, Jack! Excellent breakdown!
Thank you Jack for the most informative details on starbase

Early access is fun
That was a very informative video; thanks! I've been watching your channel for 4.5 years and still learned a lot.
Great sweet Jack wonderful explanaitions ❤
Thank you ..Great tour 😊 Thank you Jack and the NSF team
THANK YOU for making this video. I’ve been watching for years and still wasn’t totally sure on what was what and where was where.
I saw the comments asking for this video. Good job
Thank you Jack for an awesome tour of Starbase, Also thank you NSF for all your hard work to bring us these videos!
I was waiting for a video like this, I finally have a clear idea of the map ! Thank you very much for this hard work
Thanks Jack once again very informative love your work 🤠
Awesome video NSF team! I knew everything already, but I’m sure there are many people just learning about Starship and this is a great overview of Starbase! Only thing missing is Jack asking everyone to be excellent to each other, which is one of my favorite things Jack says

Such a great video idea
Great idea thanks Jack!
Thanks Jack.
Next how about a history of NSF. How did you start, How did all your talent come together?
You literally have people from around the world participating and contributing. I'd love to hear the story.
Excellent video, descriptions and images, maybe a video drive by next time to fully show distances and scale would be the icing on the cake
You must have been reading my mind! Recently I've been wondering about exactly this! And it was my intention to do a search to try to learn what and where all these locations are that nsf keeps referring to. Now here you are, doing the work for me! Thanks so much and great job!
Thanks team NSF.
love the graphics. Did Mr. Map help with that?
Thomas Hayden edited and created the graphics on this video. -kmr
Great explanation! Thanks.
Very nice to see where the different sites you talk about are relative to each other. I had assumed Sanchez was adjacent to the build site but wasn't sure. I had assumed the Build-Sanchez complex was oriented 180 degrees and on the opposite side of the highway compared to where it actually is.
Hey, smart idea to do this. Thanks.
Thanks for the overview!
Just thank you very much Jack

Great summary
Good show thank you
You're looking a bit toasty there, Jack!
Good stuff.

great!! thanks Jack
0:00 Start
10:06 End
Thank me later
Exactly what i would expect from the flamey end of flight 4.
0:01 one second after beginning
10:05 one second before the end
Thank me later
:v
Always wanted this video
Great video!
Should say how much I enjoy the rest of nsf presenters and of course thanks to Mary
Always watch Jack's update., and this update was great thanks
Very helpful.
Great tour! As for high bay, it will need to be replaced by an extra tall mega bay for Block 3 boosters. Leaving mega bay 1 & 2 for ship production.
It would be so much fun to see Starhopper painted like a Minion
Very good
I hope Jack are taking care of that skin after the recordings, be careful with the sun ❤
Can you guys do a NSF logo version of Jack's hat? That would be an instant buy for me
Someone needs to count how many looks/locations for Jack over the video 🤣
For a drinking game?
@@realfoggyif that’s what you wanna do 😉
R.I.P S26 gone so young
Thanks NSF. I think the High Bay will be used to construct the first few iterations of the in-orbit fuel depot ship and will then get demolished for a taller Mega Bay to accommodate the Booster block 3.
finally got the starbase sign cleared out
Having map jump around and use different animations for different things is confusing as heck for me
Is it possible to build a ship road to carry them to the launch site without using the highway?
So is orbtibal pad b not using the current style of olm ? Is this how they will be able to stretch the ship and booster without being taller than tower?
It seems like it will probably be a different design, but the stretching should just be possible with the current tower height. They can extend the ship/booster up while leaving the lifting points at the same height for a while before it becomes a balance issue
Did you do the village out of order just to see if people were paying attention?
The factory and office buildings will be connected at some point it seems. Do you think there is any plan to connect the parking structure? Would probably have to be a tunnel though, right? Can they even tunnel based on the water table at Starbase?
When you update it, add the New Storage Lot, VIP (?) Housing, and Store/ Restaurant area….
Thanks, but I really would like to know what exactly lurks behind the windows on top of Highbay and the Mega Bays. Even Tim Dodd in his numerous starbase tours with Elon didn't dare to ask (or he wanted but wasn't allowed to).
Here for the info and jokes 😂
Is ship 26 a pathfinder or a vehicle designed to get gold at vesta overkill and unlock module design?
I am always asking "How did we get here?" and love going to historical sites and museums. I wish Elon and SpaceX were doing more to preserve their history and present it not only at Starbase but also at other locations.
I'd also like to know the why/history behind the name(s); "who's Masseys?"
That location use to be home to the Massey's Gun Range, but SpaceX got them to move further down the road to a new location. The SpaceX area kept the name though, so it leads to an odd scenario where you have two "Massey's" on the same road, one of which basically took the name of the other lol

Great tour. But you are going to have to give us a new tour once a year with all of the constant changes SpaceX is known for.
Starship ‘n’ Sushi 😂
Hey, what about BEING EXCELENT TO EACH OTHER?! 😯 You forgot it, Jack! 😋
Boosters are going to get way taller so no doubt high bay is on a timer. It has been around since low bay…
They should put heat shield tiles on the quick release arm.
No
Bro with the workers on side and the long working hours its like building the pyramids again xD
Still no news about future industrial pipelines for methane and water?
Only nitrogen production on site?
Soon star factory will be churning out a ship every 3 days ! And starbase will be a small city ! Would be nice to have a hotel tho for tourists and maybe some actuall restraunts and an actually road that doesnt need to be closed so often !

I completely agree, but alas SpaceX apparently has to keep up a weird naming scheme
Somehow i assume that even the megabays will be demolished for an even larger VAB-complex
Who owns the land where the flame trench exhaust blast goes? Is any of it in Mexico?
The Massey's exhaust does go over mexico. The launch site is all SpaceX or US government land
What they should be saying at 1:19 is "I'm glad S16 isn't here!" 😉
Great tour, THANK YOU!
please no background music while jack talks
Don't forget to be excellent to each other!
So I don't have to be excellent to others this time? 😈😂😂
he's ORANGE
Where is the "be excellent to each other"?
Lol I visited when tower 1 was just a concrete cube...
👍
S26 is no longer in the rocket garden(
To speed when you speak, difficulté to follow the traduction.
Gwen is going to totally scrap high bay and starbase and build mega3
😅
dang..first is airport lot..then pee/get bacon as bathrooms dont exist ..

Bigger beard please, then get back to me.
To much U (visually speaking)
I am sorry … if you still support Musk … I can’t support u … bye
SpaceX is primarily people who aren't Musk. It's perfectly valid to be a fan of SpaceX and dislike Musk at the same time -- plenty of people do!
