- "Kugutsue" can be translated as "Puppet Picture/Painting" (or "Puppeteer Picture/Painting", given the reading of the kanji). I am and have always been very in love with the part starting at 3:45 and I am very happy that I got around to translate it! The performance is from the GazettE's Tour 2007-2008 Stacked Rubbish Grand Finale [Repeated Countless Error].
Translation by me.
Annotations:
"Being manipulated by a drooping obsession of ideals" - Or rather by the person who is being obsessed with ideals. Also note that sound-wise, this part has the word "utopia" in it, just the kanji are different (理想狂 instead of 理想郷).
"While losing yourself" - This is a bit of interpretation. "Yourself" is not actually in the original, it's left open what is lost. If I left it open (by just putting "while losing") it would sound like losing a game or failing at something. I wanted to make sure it's clear that something is lost, so I decided to go with a bit of interpretation for this one.
"You entrust your head to the entangled intentions" - This is a bit of an uncommon expression. I talked to some native speakers and to most of them this line leaves the impression that while the situation isn't ideal (intentions becoming entangled instead of being honest and clear), the speaker subordinates themself to it, letting it take its course on him.
"Your feelings scatter and mix together" - "Feelings" can also mean "thoughts", "wishes"...
"The fading day is staring at that picture and withers, dying away" - "Dying away" is just implied by kanji usage. Usually, the 〜ゆく(yuku) suffix at the end of this sentence is just a grammatical device, but because a specific kanji, meaning "to die", was used here, this meaning is added.
"Even the voice that peeled off can no longer be heard" - Intuitively I would have used something like "come off" instead of "peel off", however "peel off" is already used in English in the song, which I take as a hint that this is the usage Ruki had in mind, plus it also fits the imagery of a painting best.
"Flowers of colors you have never seen - Will tempt you once again" - "Tempt" is usually "invite", but can be used in this way to mean "entice", "lure", "tempt".
