- Based on a true story from Amani Simpson, 'AMANI' is the latest short from Joivan Wade (The First Purge, Shiro's Story, Deep It & Mandem On The Wall) - The film depicts the inner reflections of a young man battling with his faith after being stabbed seven times.
The vision is that this will be much more than a film, but rather a movement to strengthen the discussion and debate towards the end of the knife crime epidemic plaguing the lives of our young people and adults across the country. i was stabbed and my lung was punctured in the process causing air to escape into my body with no way out (pnemuthorax). I was told if i had gotten to the hospital 5 m,inutes later i would have died. I can't explain the pain i went through and that was with tons and tons of morphine they had given me. Since this happened to me in October 2016 I have donated over $10,000 to air ambulance charities and will continue to do so as these are the guy who saved my life.

I was about 16ish when this came out, running road, thinking I was bad until I took multiple baseball bat strikes, never in my life have i ever been so scared, 19 people outside maccies, now just 18 I moved away and started a fresh life with a parter and reconnected my dad, this is the video that stopped it, I thought I’d revisit it to see why I was so inspired, and I wasn’t surprised when I felt the urge to get up and tell someone else how great a new leaf can be, these videos are real shit and it’s the reason I’m okay today ❤️

Had the great pleasure of watching this and meeting Amani Simpson today. His story happened in the area I grew up as a teenager and where I and my family live now. If this story changes one persons path in a positive direction, it’s done immeasurable good. Thank you Amani for sharing and creating.
Not Christian but this really opened my eyes for me as I was like this in school chose to do dumb shit for some attention and get into trouble with police turned my life around after watching this realizing the consequences if I kept choosing this path now trying to get into my college hoping to pass my GCSE 🙏

This is absolutely inspirational and if it hasn’t been shown in secondary schools across the country, it needs to be. Both of my children have been robbed at knife point and if I hadn’t drilled it into them that they hand over their things in this situation, they found very well be dead now. More of our youth needs to be educated on the impact knife crime has on the victims and on the aggressors, including families. This has really, really resonated with me on a personal and professional level 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@mulligang1543 When i got stabbed it was honestly like being punched really hard. When i got shot it was instant pain,it felt like being hit with a club hammer. It's really hard to describe because when you're in these situations your adrenaline is also affecting any pain. I was also a young fit man who stupidly thought i was invincible.

I cried from start to finish. I pray that Amani's story will be used by God to change and save young lives. The God of second chances intervened because He had a greater plan for Amani's life that could not be thwarted. I hope this goes viral and is seen by 1000's of young people who are at risk or involved in violence.

Before I was Fresh and Silent in Secondary did not talk,but then I started hanging out with the bad kids,got popular,got money.ive been involved with the police MANY times also we got chased BY a guy with a huge knife.After,I watched this my eyes open and realised this can happen to me.It only takes 1 second for your life to get taken away.And I don't wanna end up like that.Soo,boys stay off the streets,it's not fun.I lost 2 cousins BC of this.
