Works and fruits are the result of love of neighbor, not justification. If you have no love you'd pass by the man set upon by robbers on the other side of the road like the Levite. The Samaritan stopped and bound up the man's wounds, took him to the Inn, and paid for his stay and recovery. The Levite had a hefty schedule and couldn't be bothered." People avert their eyes from the poor, "I'm justified by faith alone" ... "Where were you when I was hungry? thirsty? in prison? sick? friendless? without resources?"

@@PabloM.-ss6px Yes. People who never hear about Jesus Christ need to be judged fairly. Jesus died for the sins of the world -- not the sins of Christians. Non-Christians who love their neighbors, are hard working, generous, kind, fair to all, and filled with virtue, integrity, honesty, and humility, are certainly going to achieve Heaven before many Christian hypocrites.

Work out your salvation, (Philippians 2:12-13) not work FOR your salvation. We are saved and made righteous, as a gift from God, born again from above, by no merit of our own. (Ephesians 2:8-9) (John 3:3-6) If someone is born again they will be being sanctified and will produce good fruit over time. Like little children we will fall down and make mistakes along the way as we grow up in the faith. If someone is justified by faith, they cannot later be justified by doing works, if they sin, because justification is only by faith, first to last. The right attitude to have, if saved by God, is to believe that you are saved, and then take the gift given to you and use it for the Glory of God, doing good and proclaiming the Gospel to others. RC is a very good example of doing that.

Abraham is the example, and what was his whole program? Cooperation with Grace. Did you do it, is the question. A man will reap ONLY what he sews. Abraham's works (obedience, not works of law- he was before the law) completed his faith, and he was a friend of God, and the prophesy was fulfilled! See how a person is justified by works and not by faith alone?

      Jonh 6 53:54
Then Jesus said unto them verly, verly I say unto you except you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink His blood ye have no life in you
54 .whose eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day.
This is why Jesus established the Eucharist
Also st Paul said, if we drink from the cup in an anwordly manner we will condemme our soul. Meaning to recive Jesus in Eucharist we must prepare first by getting rid of sin.
God came in person to create again like says in Isaiah,
Behold I will come to make new heavens and new earth.
We are called to live in communion whith God, by living in communion whith God, we partake in God's nature and become a new creation, the old creation was corrupted by satan through Adam and eve.
I don't know why man make such a confusing,
And ys the catholic Apostolic Church, is Christ .
Virgim Mary said, not only she said this ,also said the body and blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.
Only in the church Jesus established.
Multitudes are dying in their sins thinking they are already saved.

Sorry, but you are attacking a straw man view of Catholic teachings. No Catholic who understands the original Christian Doctrine of Justification believe s he earned Salvation. It is the merrits Christ won on the Cross that are applied to us which save us. You really should attend a Catholic Mass so that you can hear the Doctrine in the Scriptural readings which comprise the Liturgy. Every Sunday, the Catholic Church proclaims that Christ died so that many would be saved.

“For it is by Grace you are saved and NOT by works lest any man may boast”. Actually I totally agree with this verse. First off Paul most likely isn't speaking of "good works" in this passage. The majority of Paul's writings are in the context of Jews to Gentiles. How the Jews have the Mosaic law and the Gentiles do not. So when Paul says works he often means works of the Mosaic Law. Totally agree we aren't saved by the Mosaic Law. That being said, even if Paul is talking about good works here he says "you have been saved". In Greek this is the perfect tense, which denotes a past, completed action. So from the context here we can see that Paul is speaking of initial salvation here when we first come to Christ. Paul also speaks of salvation as present tense Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. And he also speaks of salvation as future tense: Romans 13:11 Besides this you know what hour it is, how it is full time now for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed; So the Catholic church totally agrees with Paul here when she teaches... “We are said to be justified by grace because nothing that precedes justification, whether faith or works, merits the grace of justification. For ‘if it is by grace, it is no longer by works; otherwise,’ as the apostle says, ‘grace is no more grace’ [Rom. 11:6]” (Decree on Justification 8).🤣🤣..

The RC church advocates works to GET salvation. In truth, we do good works BECAUSE we have salvation. If works is a part of gaining salvation, then it begs the question of how many good works must we do to please God and go to heaven? It would mean that nobody can be sure of their salvation because they cannot know if they did enough good works. Imagine God turning you away because you was just one good work short of salvation.

The reading/study of the NT (in whole) shows us that in fact our good works DO NOT COMPLETE OUR SALVATION. James teaches us that, & so does Paul. See Romans 3 & 8. M.Luther was emphasizing that the sacrifice of Christ ALONE purchased our ETERNAL salvation by God's grace, THROUGH our faith, which also was itself a gift from God [to our heart]. SEE Epheaians 2 ! The Catholic "church" (tragically & erroneously) does not even teach that our salvation is ETERNAL; that is IF WE DO HAVE IT. So IF YOU REC'D IT, >>>IT WAS ETERNAL. See John 3:16 ! !

History: James is a book written by a Catholic under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, selected by the Catholic Church to be included in the New Testament, and painstakingly copied & preserved by hand by the Catholic Church for 1,500 years Before the first Protestant Church was established - which occurred relatively shortly after the printing press was invented.
Catholic Teaching: does not include a belief that a non-Baptized person can enter into Heaven for eternity by doing the Jewish works of the law, rather it includes that someone who wants to connect to God and chooses to do the Works that Jesus has revealed are necessary for eternal salvation must be done whenever possible - these works mentioned in James 2 includes: Doing the Will of God, Obeying His Commands, Forgive, Baptism (Mark 16:16), Receive the Body & Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion (John 6:22-70 & 1 Cor. 11:23-30), and among other things, do the Works of Mercy Matthew 25:31-46.
Authentic Christian BELIEF is not just a thought, it requires ACTION...
we read in Jude 5 "Now I desire to remind you, though you are fully informed, that the Lord Who once for all saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterwards destroyed those who did not believe."
And in 1 Cor. 9:27 we read St. Paul say, "I punish my body and enslave it, so that after proclaiming to others I myself should not be disqualified."
We see in the Bible that the Salvation we have while still on earth is contingent, it can be lost. We're saved in a sense when we accept Jesus and are Baptized, Confirmed, and receive Holy Communion, but by our actions we must continuously show our Faith to receive the eternal reward of salvation after our death James 2:18-26.
You seem to have misunderstandings about what the Catholic Church teaches - for a clearer understanding, in addition to the Catholic Book the Holy Bible, please read the Catechism of the Catholic Church for a clear and concise presentation of Catholic Teachings. Catholic teaching is more focused about fostering a relationship with God that is alive and active. We worship a God of Ĺove....we are made in his image to love. Love is not a noun but a verb. Love demands action.
The works that are referred to in the bible require context....they are works of the law as was practiced by the jews who would have been the first Christians who Paul was writting to in his letters. These were the strict religious customs like the law of the sabbath. This is the problem that occurs when people interpret scripture for themselves and are reading things out of context.

Roman “Catholics” are not really “Catholic” but PAPISTS. Papism is an 8th century invention thanks to the donation of Pepin and a forgery such as the “Donation of Constantine” the Roman Papist institution is the most sexually immoral entity in the world. Over half of their priests are closeted sodomites and the Vatican has the largest porn collection. Why is the RCC full of sexual deviancy? According to Saint Paul in Romans chapter 1. Idolatry is the reason why “they” are given into a reprobate mind. You can see the idolatry in their so called “veneration” of icons of Mary and the Saints that consists of bowing before them.

@@EvieBear236 Paul tells us that, when we are judged, each man’s WORK will be TRIED. And what happens if a righteous man’s work fails the test? “He will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire” (1 Cor 3:15). Now this loss, this penalty, can’t refer to consignment to hell, since no one is saved there; and heaven can’t be meant, since there is no suffering “fire” there. The Catholic doctrine of purgatory explains this passage.
      WHAT DOES “SUFFER LOSS” MEAN?
The Greek word which is translated as “suffer loss” is zemiothesetai. It comes from the Greek word zemioo. Forms of this same Greek word, zemioo - which is translated as “suffer loss” in 1 Cor. 3:15 - are found in other passages in the Bible. The word is used to mean punishment. In Exodus 21:22, Proverbs 17:26, Proverbs 19:19 and elsewhere, this very Greek word zemioo is used to mean punishment. That means that zemiothesetai, the word translated as suffer loss in 1 Cor. 3:15, can mean punishment.
So, the man who suffers loss and is saved by fire can mean a man who is punished and is saved by fire. Doesn’t that sound just like Purgatory? Yes, it sounds exactly like Purgatory because that’s what it’s referring to.

Picking isolated verses of Scripture to attempt to define the meaning of words like justification, sanctification and grace, etc. assumes we humans have not only received but fully understand the entire revelation and meaning of Christ's words and actions in Scripture - as well as those of his apostles and the Doctors of the church throughout the ages. In other words, we fully understand the mind of God. I don't think so.
The fact that we don't all agree would indicate in and of itself that there is still much to be learned. Most Catholics would agree that the Catholic Church needed reforming in the 16th century, and indeed the church continues to reform and make what we might call course corrections as new insight, inspiration and grace enlightens our leaders with the Holy Spirit. All this laborious effort to maneuver the Church’s written doctrines into some sort of heresy is entirely avoiding the fact that Jesus clearly intended His Church to have a leader holding the “keys of the kingdom” who, just like the Davidic kings, had a prime minister who ruled while the king was gone and held the keys, both literally and symbolically. Only Peter and his successors retain this office and thank God they do. Name any large organization of millions of humans without a CEO, President, Prime Minister, what have you, and you’ll have chaos, just like the 30 or 40 thousand denominations of Protestantism. Jesus knew that the buck had to stop with someone for the Church to be “one, as the Father and I are one.”

Only a consecrated family member of a consecrated marriage applies an exercise of an absolute power of simultaneous authorisations of it ensuring its procreation gift role conceptions and it insuring its identity in need of union capability.
This application at the international level was first by a consecrated male female marriage of economist/statistician, Colin Clark, in 1964 in objective circumstances then completed in subjective circumstances simultaneously of the Vatican state alleged embezzlements of Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage's procreation role gift charity donations and the Italian Parliament unacceptable risk of fraud on the identity of Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage by the consecrated celibate marriage of Pope Francis on 17 June 2021's simultaneous authorisations of its non-economic process ensuring in the Italian Parliament alleged embezzlements' case and its economic progress insuring in the Vatican state unacceptable risk of fraud case.

There is a lot of misinformation in this video regarding Catholic theology. I hope I can clear a few things.
    1. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross opened the gates of paradise allowing us to enter IF we so choose. The catholic position on salvation is that by His sacrifice we may choose to be in union with Jesus and his Heavenly Father. However, by our actions, we can and may choose NOT to be in union with God but rather separated. God respects the free-will of man and CANNOT force us to love Him. If we spend our entire earthly life living in sin and doing everything to avoid God (despite being baptized), he will simply grant us what we have freely chosen - eternal separation (aka Hell). Faith is more than believing. It is an adherence to the will of God, it is an act of love whereby our wills assent to the Divine Will. By definition, we cannot claim to love God, nor seek union with Him, unless we follow His commandments (action) - "If you love me, you will keep my commandments," and again, "He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him" (Jn 14:15, 21). Protestants keep erroneously implying that Catholics believe that it is by our own merits that we are saved. That is incorrect. Rather, as the Council of Trent rightly states, we cooperate through the free exercise of our wills with God's saving grace. Our faith is proven/demonstrated by the way we live.
    2. With regards to St. Paul's teachings on justification: Yes, we are justified by Christ's salvific act, however, Paul's definition of justification does not equate to salvation. Salvation requires both faith (belief) and action (adherence to the demands of said faith). Paul is quite clear that justification for him was the sacrifice of Christ (cf. Rm 3:24-26). When Paul argues justification by faith and not works, he is clearly railing against works of the Law (i.e., Mosaic law - e.g., dietary and purity laws, cf. Rm 3:27-31). He was clearly arguing against the Judiazers who were trying to convince the gentiles to become Jewish before they can be Christians. In fact, Paul's whole letter to the Galatians was one giant rant against justification through the works of the Law. It is equally clear that Paul was encouraging the Christian communities to work on their righteousness (cf. 2 Cor. 13:5-10). If we were automatically saved by faith alone, why work towards righteousness? The fact of the matter is, we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless we are worthy through our works of faith (cf. 2 Thess. 1:5-12).
    3. Yes, mortal sin does bring forth death: "...but each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown brings forth death" (Jm 1:14-15). One must be restored to a state of grace to be saved (again, justification is not the same as salvation). We must adhere to the word of God and not simply accept it: "Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" (Jm 1:22). And of course, there is that one inconvenient verse that Martin Luther despised because it went against his Sola Fide theology: "What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him?" (Jm 2:14).
    4. On the Catholic teaching on Purgatory: Throughout scripture and tradition, it is a known fact that we cannot behold the face of God the Father if any stain (remnant) of sin clings to us. Protestants tend to perpetuate this notion that Purgatory is a bad thing. It is not. It is a gift from God so that we may behold the beatific vision. Jesus tells us to "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt. 5:48). When Moses asked God to see God's face, God replied, "you cannot see my face; for no one shall see me and live" (Ex. 33:20). Sin, by its Hebrew definition, is a turning away from God - to "miss the mark" (חָטָא). When we sin, reparation must be made because it is not enough to say that I love God, but rather, love has to be understood as a verb, an action. Saying I love my wife while simultaneously beating her proves I don't truly love her. I must act on that love. I must prove it. I must "hit the mark" so-to-speak. If I am forgiven of my sin, I must show my contrition by reorienting myself back to God (i.e. conversion/metanoia). Yes, in the sacrament of confession our sins are forgiven (which thankfully means we won't go to hell), however, if I did not make any reparation for the sins I've committed, I lack the expression/demonstration/resolution of my conversio (turning towards) God. To behold the face of our Heavenly Father, there can be no doubt with regards to the assent of our hearts, minds, and wills. Purgatory is that chance for us to make reparation for forgiven sins that have not been amended. Similar to the description in the book of Wisdom, it is like gold in a furnace tried by fire to remove any impurities. Again, thank God for purgatory, because the alternative is eternal damnation. Yes, the Church sinned by selling indulgences, but this has long been condemned as the sin of simony. Most, if not all, of Luther's original grievances against the Church have already been addressed. You cannot "buy your way into heaven." A priest CANNOT impose a penance of making a donation. Yes, throughout the Catholic world parishes, basilicas, shrines, and other holy sites ask for donations, but it is NOT a requirement. I don't have to pay a donation to climb the steps at St. John Lateran even though a sign kindly asks for it.
I wrote this long response because I am tired of so much misinformation being perpetuated by Protestants regarding Catholic theology. Funny how you never see Protestant ministers debating Catholic theologians on Catholic positions. My brothers and sisters in Christ, I pray for the gift of understanding and respect.

M Taylor, regarding your cherry picked citation to the letter of James, when read in its entirety it is clear that the Author is teaching that "works" are evidence of saving faith not the means of obtaining salvation. Abram was justified before he ever left Ur. Genesis 15:6. It is grave error to take scripture out of context and neglect to consider the entire counsel of scripture to interpret any single verse.
All scripture is inspired by God and useful for instruction.2 Timothy 3:16-17. However, we are admonished to rightly divide the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. All scripture is written for us and our learning but not all scripture is written to us as grace age believers: "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience might have hope." Romans 15:4. Most of the Bible is written to the Jews under the law, even the four gospels are written to the Jews under the law because they only deal with the Lord Jesus Christ before His death, burial and resurrection. The Apostle Paul is the apostle to the gentiles in the age of grace and only his letters are written To the grace age believers for our doctrine. Acts 9:15-16; 22:21;26:17-18; Romans 2:16;11:13; Galatians 2:5-9. The Apostle Paul received the doctrines of grace by revelation from the resurrected and ascended Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:11-24. Even Peter, at the end of his life and shortly before he was martyred wrote by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, " ...even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." 2 Peter 3:15,16. God has not changed, but the way He deals with humanity and our salvation has changed because of the Lord Jesus Christ and His completed work of the cross. We are saved by grace through faith, not of works. Ephesians 2:8-9. If you try to mix grace with works then grace will not benefit you. Romans 11:6; Galatians 2:21. Be guided accordingly.

Patrick, a just and merciful criticism of both Sproul and roman catholics is as follows:
Process thinking work of what I do and progress in my having faith in who I am are inseparable and qualitatively equal as in uncertainty belief as the keeping of this IS and QL=.
Both roman and non-roman catholic christians, if not joined in consecrated marriages, either celibate vowed to man in Christ or male female vowed to God, cannot keep this IS and QL= as their relationships as not consecrated exercising an absolute power of simultaneous authorisations of their ensuring and insuring cannot out occult their occult as hidden, incest connected as substitute mate, condition of uncontrollable:
"… oscillation between persistent forms of regressive 'familyism' [conceptions] on the one hand and an affirmation of radical individualism [capability] on the other that, in destroying the family reverses the progress of humanisation, heedless of the long-term consequences of so doing.",
as warned against by Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage's President of its Council for the Family, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, in his address at the UNO on the UNO "The International Day of the Family", 15 May 2013.
These non-consecrated relationships cannot but engage in gaining economic advantage by tax-exemption embezzlements and lower insurance cost by fraud with a non-economic inducement, falsely purported presumed of "higher vocation" (RCC teaching in TTMHS, PCF, 1995, 35; cf. "opinion" of St Paul at 1Cor7:25:34) of consecrated celibate to male female marriage in grooming by diseased 'familyist' family members of their psychologically and or emotionally vulnerable family members in their helper of the family roles with this false separation of works and faith non-economic "higher" status.
Pope Francis by simultaneous authorisations by his consent in uncertainty of his belief in his present moment both particular present moment and general circumstances of this consent to be joined in consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ as inseparable and qualitatively equal with consecrated male female marriage on 17 June 2021 simultaneously corrected the Protestant position of justification by faith alone and the Roman Catholic position of "higher vocation" (Pope St John Paul 2's Council for the Family "Guidelines", TTMHS, PCF, 1995, 35; cf. St Paul's "opinion" at 1Cor7:25-34) of consecrated celibate marriage vowed to man in Christ to consecrated male female marriage vowed to God.
Pope Francis presented this simultaneous correction in both his consecrated celibate marriage's own particular subjective case and in a consecrated celibate marriage's general objective case as in his particular case as of a helper of the family procreation thinking gift role in his particular Vatican state case of alleged embezzlements of his procreation role gift charity donations by ten of his Vatican sate citizens/employees, including Cardinal Angelo Becciu, and in a general case a family member identity having faith in need of union in the Italian state Parliament general case of the "Zan" anti-homophobia bill as an unacceptable risk of fraud on consecrated marriage, celibate or male female, in general keeping in uncertainty the inseparability and qualitative equality of helper of the family thinking role gift and family member identity having faith need which keeping is in uncertainty belief.
The absolute power exercised by this keeping in uncertainty of belief by consecrated marriage, either celibate of Pope Francis or male female on the reference point of this keeping by Mary at Lk1:29-45 and Mt1:24, is evident between 17/6/21 and 18/12/21 when convictions and sentencing for these embezzlements was recorded in his Vatican state criminal court following in early November 2021 defeat of the "Zan" bill in both cases on exercise of an absolute power of simultaneous authorisations by Pope Francis' consecrated celibate marriage on 17 June 2021.
The Protestant - Roman Catholic occult as hidden and incest connected as substitute mate divide as both objective and subjective is ended by this exercise of an absolute power by consecrated marriage, either celibate or male female, simultaneously authorising protestant and roman catholic role groups combining of all their activities as helper of the family procreation gift roles.

John 6:44. NO man - son/daughter, pope/priest, zealot - can come to Jesus unless God, the Father, draws him (man).
A parent can NOT draw or reveal Christ as the son of God to our children.
Jesus to Peter: Blessed are you, Peter, because flesh/blood did Not reveal to you . . . rather God revealed HIS Son.
As a parent, I couldn’t repent myself - much less change my children.
When God convicted me of my deceitful and wicked heart, HE circumcised and repented my heart, and clothed me with HIS love and mercy.
God’s promised is that HE will also circumcise the hearts of my children so that we may love HIM with all our hearts and souls.
But God has preordained the TIME and place for HIS merciful work in us.

An impressively accurate description of Catholic doctrine. I think it got a bit muddled in the description of Indulgences, but not badly. The major point you missed was the ’good news’ that God can make a sinner into a true saint. I sense you do not grasp the good that He has in store for you.

  • @jimmy5634

First comes faith…the works follow. The Bible tells us to accept God’s grace on faith, then repent ( turn away), from the flesh and be “born again” as a “ new creation “ in Christ. The new creation is a spiritually-focused being who is now following Jesus, his teachings and his actions, which are defined as “works.”

Do you not get it? So much idol worship in the Catholic religion. If it's not that old demon, the pope, it's Mary, or the saints, or all of the religious symbols you use. Don't you get it yet? If you strip away the robes, and the hats and the smoke and the gold plated crucifixes, and the long winded unfeeling chants, and the dead..if you strip away all of that, your left with Christianity. Biblical sound doctrine. Explain to me about the Hail Mary prayers. What's the point of saying something several times? Where in the bible does it instruct us to do this? And where in the bible does it say that it can absolve someone's sins? And that another man has the authority to do so? Where in the bible does it authorize anyone to use the title "Most Holy? The only one that has ever been called that name, is God by Jesus. People refer to the pope that way. That's disgusting. No human can be the most holy. Tell me in the bible where it says to worship a man, like they do with the pope. He has no more the ability to get close to God anymore than we do. Actually I would be closer to Christ than the pope. Jesus would call the pope a blasphemer, a self righteous hypocrite. I would call the pope an antichrist. Tell me where in the bible it says to display dead people, and worship them as saints. The Catholics are so blatantly arrogant and WILLFULLY dishonor Jesus. They spend BILLIONS of dollars on those ugly churches, with cathedral ceilings and gold plated everything. Jesus said "Don't call anyone Father but your father in heaven"! Catholics call their priests Father. They are an abomination. If you can show me in scripture anywhere about any other f the things I mentioned above, I will become a Catholic today.

This is such a tough one to wrap our heads around. Here’s how I look at it. Faith and salvation are both gifts from God, completely unobtainable on our own. I can’t go out and work my way to salvation and faith. However, just like any gift we can accept or reject them through our own free will. Any works we do are only using gifts that have been previously given to us by God. Faith itself would therefore be both a gift of God and an act on our part.
