Hey! I feel like I need to clarify one thing as I already saw a few comments about my creations looking similar to Uncomfy's characters. First, I would like to say I love Tammy and her cute art. That being said, I've never had intentions of copying her. In reality, her characters are pretty much inspired by asian artstyle cute characters and the faces and certain elements are more common than you think. For example, my Octopup character was inspired by a game called Moonstone Island and a tv show Bee and PuppyCat. Yes, Tammy is the most popular polymer clay artist who does these characters but that doesn't mean she invented this style - so many polymer clay artists are doing them, but she's the most popular one (and quite rightly so! She's amazing). But calling my art copying or even a plagiarism is not okay and is very disrespectful. Please do some research before insulting me and my art and try to be kind. I'm against copying other people's art but every artist is inspired by someone or something, even the one you think has the most original art. And I won't change my beloved art style just because it's similar to someone else's.
I just wanted to say that I feel for you. It not nice feeling unfairly criticised especially for plagiarism. Just accept it with grace. Now you're starting to expose yourself on RUclips. I didn't know who Tammy is and I must say her items are very similar to yours, so there may be some piece of truth in this criticism but don't let this affect you. Stay true to yourself and do what you think is right according to your own values. Maybe 100 people make impressively similar things, some being more popular than others. Perhaps you will be criticised again or receive negative comments for one reason or the other. Sometimes, difficult situations help us evolve. I love what you're making in this video by the way. I want to start my own Etsy shop as a non native speaker so I can relate to your effort. ❤
Hi. Since you and Tammy both make capybaras, and animals with tangerines or blueberries or sprouts on their heads, and animals with the same exact indent and shape for the lower half of their bodies, and even the way the bow tendrils fall is too similar, if not from her, I want to know where you got those inspirations from, because I’m genuinely curious if you both saw those same exact things somewhere. Also, this last part is my advice to you. Calling your viewers disrespectful will make you look bad. And when you respond with “excuse me, how is xyz plagiarism” etc etc. (Basically, don’t say anything argumentative and/or with attitude.) Don’t let your emotions get in the way of your success. In the future, just kindly and calmly state your inspirations and reasons as to why you believe otherwise, and then leave it at that, because when you are this public, and you really badly want to thrive as an artist, optics matter. It’s a good idea to reach a certain level of maturity before deciding to do something like this.
I think that's a fair comment, I'm glad to find someone to follow, I'd like to try this but obviously my cartoon characters are completely different, I hope when I make stuff it's completely different @@iLexy3
Yeah i was inspired by Tammy to put my story into my pieces like I'm brainstorming to show my identity, my background. A lot of sad painful moments, so I would create something to take away the pain and put a smile on my face
P.S. I recognize that fruit-bara from somewhere! Maybe on TikTok or just photos but I knew i saw it somewhere and thought it was so cute!!
Hi Katherine! I’m so happy to find an art creator that just started RUclips like me!! Your products are so wonderful and my personal favorite is the capybara 🥰 wish you the best for your shop and hope to see more of your journey 😁
Thank you so much for the nice comment! 🥰
Wow, I didn't expect that. Such work is difficult to do. Therefore, it goes without saying that a skilled person does it.❤😉💗👍

I too am going to be starting up my shop soon, and wanted to see if you have any advice on setting up your business model, best mode to ship, etc.? Are you hoping to transition to full time art creating (THE DREAM)? Best of luck to you and your creations are so so cute!
Hi Catherine😘. These products are very very very cute and I wish you a dream come true😚. I hope your new business goes well and becomes popular💗. If I ever come across it, I will definitely buy something from it💖. I wish you the best of luck in building your cool and cute business☺. Carol💜. PS: Hodně štestí Vivi😊😍🤫.

I'm so glad! Good luck with your shop! 😍
Hello lovely, i have uploaded some shorts to youtube but im nervious to inteoduce myself and my art in a long form video😅. Thank you for being brave ❤ and congratulations on opening your shop 🎉
Hiiii! I totally get that, I have an advantage because I've been making youtube videos for 8 years now, so I'm not video-shy anymore, but trust me, it gets much easier after 2-3 videos and after some time it will feel natural to you! You need to start somewhere. And if you don't want to show your face, you don't have to, you can just make voice-over videos (which I do more or less because I'm not that comfortable speaking in English). 😊 I love your cute clay companions, best of luck to you!
cute products, it's great that you're following your dream, hopefully the business will catch on, I wish you the best of luck ❤️🥰😍🫶

Thank you so much! 🥺
Excellent clay charms ❤..... I love your all craft 😍.... Please upload more with details ❤....
Thank you so much!! 😍
How do you learn to make clay arts?
You have 2 cats!! How do you keep cat hair off of your work? I recently started crafting with polymer clay for fun, but my cat is very clingy and likes to sit on my desk or my lap so there are little hairs everywhere no matter how much I dust! Do you close your cats out of the room while you work? lol!
Hi! Well, I don't let my cats get near me when I sculpt and I clean the work space before I sculpt anything. There's a lot of dust particles in my creations anyway, but the best thing to do is use isopropyl alcohol to clean any imperfections!
Awww everything is so cute 😍 All the best on your shop. New subscriber here. Keep going 🩷
Love it ❤
I think your designs are very cute! Good luck! 🥰
Thank you so much! 🥰
That is a dust mask you are wearing not a fume mast, will not stop fumes at all. Also fume mask need their filters changing every so often, stay safe, love your characters ❤

Wow keep up the good work ❤

This looks ridiculously similar to "Uncomfy"'s channel and clay art which has been around since 2021. You have even copied her intro line "hello friends" and her clay figurines with some slight variations. I hope you realise that plagiarism is not ok.
Excuse me? "Hello friends" is a completely normal intro of so many videos and channels. I wanted it to sound welcoming and not just "hey guys". I think many people don't realise that Uncomfy didn't invent cute polymer clay characters. I'm actually inspired by many drawings, different kinds of art and yes, polymer clay artists too. There are also some artists who do almost identical characters to what Uncomfy does and I don't really think I'm one of them. Cute faces and fruits on characters head is not unique to one artist.
I know Uncomfy is one of the most popular cute clay character makers but as long as FairySyrup's characters are different it's fine. There are many artists out there and it is really difficult now to create something completely unique. I made clay characters in preschool nearly 30 years ago and I wasn't first. If someone paint a sunset, it doesn't mean they are copying someone. There are already thousands of sunset paintings out there.
Tammy’s style is heavily inspired by Asian kawaii/cute characters. Have you seen the cartoon bee and puppycat for example? Puppycat’s face looks very similar to Tammy’s style. She didn’t invent this type of face, this is a known design that many other characters/brands use. As long as it’s not the same it’s fine, there are plenty of artist that use the same type of style, wether we are talking about paintings, sculptures etc
@@carinalousada1413 @artwitholga what can I say, if any type of plagiarism is ok with you for the sake of sales or views who am I to disagree. Getting inspiration from someone's work is one thing but copying it is another. Also creating a sunset is very generic whereas creating a very particular bear holding a cup with whipped cream is not. I mean what happened to originality?
@@tambakit 1.) that's a squirrel, not a bear. And it's holding a cupake, not a cup of whipped cream. 2.) I follow around 150 small polymer clay artists on instagram and have seen around 10 of them sculpting animals with cups. One of them even specializing in that. Just because you saw a popular artist make something doesn't mean everyone who does something similar is copying him/her.
