For anyone wondering, "Teir Abhaile Riu, Teir Abhaile Riu, Teir Abhaile Riu, Mhearai, Teir Abhaile 'cus fan sa bhaile mar ta do mhargaoh oeanta" translates to, "Go home, go home, go home, Mary, your match has been made elsewhere". Hope this helped!
That's fair particularly Jasmine not allowed to leave the palace and falling in love with 1 the law forbays her union with and everyone who talks to her in the palace keeps reminding her and while her father doesn't wish to set her up with a guy she hates she is trying to set a match for her with princes until the end
This song makes me feel like I'm in the 1800s and it's early morning and it's a special day in the village to get on a ship with musicians playing around me in small cottages around me with flowers and sailors walking around getting ships ready Edit:Yall im sorry haha i have a big imagination lol

I'm Asian but I love Sea Shanty Medley, Old Maui, Rocky Road to Dublin and especially this song. Irish music is so pretty to hear. I wish I can sing like them.

The Celtic women is surely an angel. Like dang it no one can sing so beautifully
Have you ever heard of Clannad?
As a black kid that grew up ADORING Titanic, and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, this is so freakin good! (Michael Flatley was like the milli vanilla of irish dance-he faked his taps) I however loved it, and I love this song!!!

Lyrics
Look how the light of the town
The lights of the town are shining now
Tonight I'll be dancing around
I'm off on the road to Galway now
Look how she's off on the town
She's off on a search for sailors though
There's fine fellas here to be found
She's never been one to stay at home
Home you'll go and it's there you'll stay
And you've work to do in the morning
Give up your dream of going away
Forget your sailors in Galway
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Come now and follow me down
Down to the lights of Galway where
There's fine sailors walking the town
And waiting to meet the ladies there
Watch now he'll soon be along
He's finer than any sailor so
Come on now pick up your spoons
He's waiting to hear you play them WHOOO!
Here today and she's gone tomorrow
And next she's going to Galway
Jiggin' around and off to town
And won't be back until morning
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Off with a spring in my step
The sailors are searching Galway for
A young lady such as myself
For reels and jigs and maybe more
Stay here and never you mind
The lights of the town are blinding you
The sailors they come and they go
But listen to what's reminding you
Handsome men surrounding you
Dancing a reel around you
Home you'll go and it's there you'll stay
And you've work to do in the morning
Give up your dream of going away
Forget your sailors in Galway
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Listen to the music flow
I'm falling for the flow of home
I'm home to dance till dawning
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Stay a while and we'll dance together now
As the light is falling
We'll reel away till the break of day
And dance together till morning
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Téir abhaile riú, téir abhaile riú
Téir abhaile riú Mhearai
Téir abhail gus fan sa bhaile
Mar tá do mhargadh déanta
Do Mhargadh de - do mhargadh déanta

Whenever I hear this song it feels like:
Setting:
Years ago men and women were separated far away from each other on two different islands by magic, the magic did not even spare couples, kids and families. All men and women had separate powers, like men controlled fire and earth while women controlled air and water. The power level was the opposite to the real world I.e older people were the most powerful while younger kids where kind of weak(only in terms of magic).
Women's pov:
There were some ways to communicate with the men like sending huge but calm waves through the water between the islands or even a small breeze to tell that we are safe.
Our pov:
The old straight couples were tired of not being able to meet their loved ones/partners, so they decided to break the magic walls that separated them by unity I.e putting their powers together. Days turned into decades and for the first time in something that felt like forever, both sides were ready to break this wall of magic that kept them away from each other. The wall was too weak to handle all elements together and gave up. The wall was broke and love was found again. It was a wholesome moments as daughters met their fathers, sisters met their brothers mothers met their sons, until the unthinkable happened.
Problem:
The old people are reminded of something very unfortunate. When all elements come together, nature acts cruel on the real world due the imbalance. Maybe staying separate was for an important reason, maybe being together created a problem between the elements and real world. There was no way they could stay together, but it was as unfortunate as important it was.
AFTER SOME SACRIFICES:
the men and women were again separated but there was a twist. Every year in the month of February, both the communities would reunite and have moments of love, but at the end of Feb, would independently go to their respective islands.
