I watched this so cause was bored at first but I didn't realize how much seeing women supporting each other like these three have would impact my life. This show is a gem!
Yes i so agree, this show is a GEM! such relatable life that the three young women have got into. Kudos to the creator, the cast especially and the whole creative team, props, music and everyone
Kat becoming editor-in-chief is both unexpected yet understandable. Jane has always been striving to be an amazing writer and embody Jacquline, but never her position. Kat on the other hand wants to be the change that Jacquline always brought to the world, making her perfect for the role
Kat was built for it from the get go. She climbed within the company quickly and was a head of social media. She honestly would have been the first choice if she hadn't gotten fired. I like Jane but she always been about her, which is fine but to be a true boss you do have to be there to support your peers and I find she was always looking to put her opportunities first. It makes sense she is pursuing her own journey and it nice to see her realize that. It actually works for an ending for her.
I wanted so much that they could have shown something like Jacqueline thinking about choosing Kat, unfortunately it had to be something rushed like just Jane giving up, Jacqueline with a "lost" expression. Even when Jacqueline agreed before that Kat is great in management, I wanted more, just wish, they gave us what they could with so little time.
This show was always my safe spot, I watched it from the very beginning, it was there for me at a time when I really felt left out and misunderstood, from a heartbreak, to identity crisis to even cheer me up and give me strength when I needed it the most. Watching the characters grow and learning about life, words can't express how grateful I am to have discovered such a wonderful show. To this day, I still miss it, but overall, thank you The Bold Type for being there for me, for inspiring to live my life and embrace who I am, thank you for encouraging me and inspiring me to always stand up for what I believe in. but most of all; thank you for a wonderful ride.
I think this ending for Jane was perfect, she never took (or rarely) major risks after the Incite incident, plus she always wanted to take journalism towards social subjects farther than she did at Scarlet. On the other hand Kat is better built for a Leadership position and encourages others to do so, in contrast to Jane who was a more individualistic approach
It is an incredible series. I don't think anyone would have liked it to end, but these girls are great and always will be, even though part of the story is changing now.🥺😍
I had no idea I’d be soo in love with this series. It is truly amazing and have taken me on a roller coaster. The moments; the happy ones that had me crying happy tears or the sad ones that had me crying sad tears.. I love it all! The excitement! The support and the push for everyone to be BOLD and take risks! I’ll miss it! Just like EVERYONE else I’m sure. This series is AMAZING and life-changing!
The one thing that bothered me for Jane was how two episodes she convinced her employee not to quit and promised her she will guide her and be her mentor and she straight up ditched her… lol what
Damn, i lowkey forgot about that! Dang now i feel bad for her. Lol well good things she other prospects lines up before jane convince her to stay! Looks like she might need them!

Gonna be one of my favorite shows. Seeing empowering women, make u feel empowered too. Love the vibes from this show. Absolutely gonna miss my girls here 💚💚💚
Honestly, this thing Jane does, where she's always trying to follow in her mom's footsteps annoys the heck out of me. BE YOUR OWN PERSON dude! Nothing against traveling and seeing the world HOWEVER do it because it's what you want to do, not because your mother couldn't. I don't know... this ending seems really far-fetched to me. She worked so hard for Scarlet... how can she give it all up?
I think that’s always been her character though, comparing herself to her mom. She should go to a LOT of therapy though to unpack her complicated feelings about her mom. Yeah I wish they could have her taking a sabbatical or writing for the failing feminist and for scarlet abroad.
SHE WANTS TO WRITE ABT THE FALLING FEMINIST IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND? IT'S TAKING RISKS AND STRIKED FOR THE FUTURE. NOT MIRRORING HER MOTHER.
it bothers me so much that the viewers understand nothing from the show. the purpose is to make the world a better place and brought joy to people yet these kinds of people just shouldn't watch the show in the first place
I wish people would look at the ending with a different perspective. The story lines go way beyond the show and the ending gave everyone a prequel to what would actually come to be (albeit sped up). Someone in Kat's age group being the EIC isn't realistic, but in the future I could definitely see her in that role because of her passion and skills. Jane not taking the job is just life. Most of the time we see people doing what they think they're supposed to and then doing what feels authentic to them when they get older, so it was wonderful to see a young woman like Jane being true to herself. Sutton and Richard are just life too, hell marriage is an entire topic with alot of complexities. There's no way to look at that relationship if you don't go beyond what the show had the opportunity to show you. Will Sutton eventually want kids? Will Richard eventually stop wanting kids entirely? Will they have another couple of years and then split? I don't look at their relationship as a fairytale cliche ending, I look at it as a work in progress. I really really love this show and then that are portrayed. It was so inspiring!
The only ending i did not like was the fairy tale ending of Richard and sutton, I feel like Richard sacrifice is too high, I know we all make sacrifices in relationships but it seams in this relationship its always been Richard making sacrifices, and while he might feel its worth it when things are good between them, how will he feel when they hit rough patches, what happens when she accidentally get pregnant again and she as to get rid of it.i really wish she would have focused on her therapy and Richard went through with his adoption, I think that a better message than what we got.
I think is a very positive ending for couples around the world that are struggleing with infertility...love can be more important than babys. Couples can choose to stay togheter even if a baby is not a possibility. Even if this is her choice not to have a baby...
@@cristinad1282 I think this is very different for infertility. That’s where two people having common goal of wanting a baby but not able to have one. They go through the struggle and suffer together and explore options together. And yes love goes beyond babies. But this case it’s two people having completely different goals and wanting very different things. So the compromising party suffers alone and in this case, love has gone beyond self.
@@cristinad1282 but they are not struggling with infertility, they are capable of having kids the only thing in the way is that one person want a baby and one doesn't, so one person as to give up on what they want to be with the woman they love,if it was the woman making this sacrifice we will not be ok with it.
I agree..I hated how Richard giving up his dream of wanting a family was so casually tossed away to justify Sutton's feminism...I mean the first thing she does after their split over the baby issue is to hook up with an ex flame, interrupted by his wife agreed, but hook up nonetheless. I felt Sutton always short changed Richard.

I wish that she went to more therapy and spoke to her dad for some closure or something. Maybe realize that she just didn't want to be like her parents. Richard could still have adopted & been a stay at home dad and she could focus on her career. I hate that they didnt compromise or even try.
Haven't seen this season yet, have it taped, but if there was another season. About 1 month into traveling, she would probably say, why the hell did i quit my job & do this haha
This finale was such a mad and unrealistic rush to end things “beautifully”. I know it’s a drama but still it has to be relatable no? They should have just left it at season 4 and up to us to imagine how it should/could have happened for each character. Kat with zero experience in editing, never covered/shadowed or even be an assistant/deputy EIC, gets the role. Jane who cannot even manage two staff gets considered for the role too. What’s the board doing? They do know there are other ppl out there yar? And Sutton’s ending is the worst. I think we’re over the “and they live happily ever after fairytale”. Richard deserves better. He looks like shit after marrying her.
I like some of your points, but you are dead wrong about Kat. I am guessing you haven't worked in online publishing... But it seems you forgot Kat ran the digital division before Scarlett stopped printing physical magazines. I worked in online publishing at a women's mag; trust me, the job isn't hard, lol! You just need good instincts and an understanding of audience development numbers. (And I originally come from advertising). An EIC's job is basically high-level project management. An EIC of an online mag has heads such as a creative director, audience development, sales, social media, and content operations team. It's totally doable, and my boss was a world-class idiot, but she hired smart people (that she took credit for who got the job done. Lol).
@@Skysdalimit247 I thought digital was ran by Patrick. Kat has always been in the social media dept until she got fired no? And she just got re-hired to run a vertical with Adena. It’s fine yours differ. I see many others enjoyed the finale so there’s really no right or wrong here.
@@Skysdalimit247 kat is perfect for the position, she had so many managerial positions from when she ran the social media devotion, to her campaign,to her activism innovations, she is always coming up with innovative ideas for her activism, and she is very good at seeing them through, I did not understand why jane was being pushed for the position because other than being a good writer i didn't see leadership qualities in her.
Yeah and uptil Season 1 they showed Lauren Park as the Junior Editor and then suddenly cut her off and never mentioned a Junior Editor. I mean yes Kat was great but in reality you dont get considered for such positions with no editorial experience. She only managed social media and even with that broke a lot of rules (which again we love her for) but in the real world that ain't happening.
Okay im gonna miss this show but i have an issue: How is Richard giving up HIS DREAM became fine? Restarting your relationship by giving up something that important doesnt sound good. Also did Sutton told him about Billy? Anyways Sutton used to be my favourite but i’ve had a hard time with her character for the past 2 seasons
Exactly. In real life, a guy who wants to become a father that badly will let the girl go and not his wish to be a father. I have not yet watched the final season, but I'm sure Sutton will not have told Richard about her one-night with Billy. Because Richard wouldn't want to be with her after that. Sutton forgave herself for doing the one-night with Billy and chose to not tell Richard about it.
Gracis .
I thought Jane would travel with the bodyguard guy...finaly man for her👏👏...i agree with Kat to be the best for the position...and i deffinitly not agree with Sutton&Richard...i know it's show but🙈🙈🙈
I have been addicted to this series. I've learnt so much from it! I'm a Christian so had to skip past some bits but it taught me so many lessons. Everyone should watch this. It's been Amazing
I have yet to see Series 5-6episofes but girls your acting is truly amazing and very natural just as your editor Jackuline. This may sound weird and perhaps is, but I have been watching all 4 Series on. Netflix, back to back for over ,3 weeks and I still see or hear something new. Just for the record l have not got a publishing background and in my view it was a big mistake to end it, but I am still enjoying each episode as if it was my first viewing. Graham
I am just not satisfied with this ending at all. Richard apparently wants to suffer for the rest of his life in a kidless marriage. Even if he's STILL adopting, GUESS WHAT? Sutton, is STILL going to have to be a mother, to Richard's adopted baby.smh. Kat won big, im not mad, but that is entirely far fetched! lol She got the dream position, and the girl, she' s been dating since season 1. lol. Jane is THE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT. 1. She ALREADY LEFT SCARLET before, so having her leave again is abit redundant. 2. SCARLET SAVED HER LIFE! She constantly says that. She busts her butt to get the E.I.C position, she dont event make it to her interim chief position, she gives it up before Jacqueline leaves. She skips dinner to have sex with some rando marine she JUST met, and want to Eat, pray, Love, her way around the world...Im sorry, but NOOOOO!!! This show took Jane BACKWARDS! As much as I love this show, it suffers from Character UNDEVELOPMENT! If anything, Kat should be travelling and fighting injustice everywhere, she's the dang Social Justice Superhero. lol. Its crazy how as much as things changed, most of them stayed the same, Kat wars with commitment issues. Now all of a sudden she DON'T? LOL. Y'all answer is to give her MORE responsibilities to commit to? I truly enjoyed this journey, honestly, Im just not satisfied with the ending.
@@folklorevermore13 well. That's even worse. Yet another concession he had to make for Sutton. Smh. And some kid, is not getting a home with a good dad because of Selfish Sutton. Smh.
I didn’t like the end either. I think it was sad Richard had to give up his dream, he should have known she didn’t want kids before it got that serious, but at the end, he just couldn’t live without her, so… too sad. And Jane? Come on! Why didn’t she get her happy ending after all of the suffering with her health and Ryan? I was hoping for Ben to show up at some point, but it was Ryan, just to say hi? I found it so weird. I guess they wanted to show us she was over him. Although I must confess I always silently wanted her to end up with Alex, specially after staying with her for two extra months when she was recovering from her surgery. But he just fooled around with the other two friends and I lost hope along the way. (I’m also aware I was probably the only one 😅) Anyway, it felt like she ended up alone, and I don’t necessarily mean it in a romantic way. She “lost” her mentor and mother figure, she’s going to be an ocean away from her besties for God knows how long just to take a risk she already took, and she also ended a potential relationship before it even started… I expected a better closure for her, as she was my favourite.
I have things that I need to let out: before that SPOILER ALERT!!!! 1. Why there are only 6 episodes on season 5??? 2. It's unfair that Sutton and Kat get to be with their one true loves (Richard and Adena, respectively) but not Jane? Oh Ryan 😭 3. Why does Jane have to leave Scarlet after all this time?? 4. At least Ryan got to be in the finale for a hot second but i'm sad that Alex wasn't there. He was such a huge part of this show. 5. Not finale related but where's Lauren?? I watched the whole series in less than two weeks but i didnt know what had happened to her.. 6. A spin off is needed! Can we have Jacqueline spin off please at least??
I don't know why but I feel Sutton is so self centered and selfish.. she don't want to adjust. Richard did so much for her but when it came to having kids she was ready for divorce but not kids
This is the most ridiculous thing ever. You don’t AdJuSt to have a kid. You either want one or you don’t. You don’t have a kid to save a marriage. It is not selfish to not want to have a kid. It is indeed selfish to have a kid when you don’t want to and end up giving them a poor life. And also, her not wanting a kid didn’t matter, because Richard chose her in the end. He could have divorced her, but he didn’t.
Birthing and raising an unwanted child for the sake of someone else is not an "adjustment". A baby is not a bandaid to save your marriage. If the marriage will apart without a child, then it's a weak marriage anyway. Let it fall apart.
Can someone tell what happens to Sutton in finale I mean in Sutton’s career.I know she and r Richard got together.Out of 3 girls I kinda liked Sutton more because I felt she was simple, hardworking lady who kinda lagged behind in work compared to other friends.I know the feeling because I am honest, hardworking but I lags behind in career 😢
I just wish these girls didn't all have to work at scarlet because their roles just seem to be enmeshed in each other it's hard to really see them as individuals. I mean we get to see kat do her thing because she's just a go getter and doesn't let anything stand in her way. Then Jane gets to shine because shes the main character. But I dont really vet to see sutton be her own besides be with Richard. I wish their roles were so clearly defined.
It also should also be on Freeform .com or their app. I use to catch up there before i had hulu. And Freeform is free. They use to only do the latest 5 episodes but im guessing since this season was only 6 they should have all the episodes.
Make a movie with such a plot: Sutton passes the therapy and she understands that he wants children and they with Richard go their child and still establish one and orphans. Jane interacts with Jacqueline, but not to scarlet. And while renewing relations with Ryan or better with Ben. The finale for Kat let him remain the same, because only she has happy End..Viguly and empty inside because of the final.
You can't read, can you? I saw this video thumbnail on my recommendation when i was starting to watch season 4 and i immediately scrolled pass it when i read that "finale scene" sign..

She only managed social media and even with that broke a lot of rules (which again we love her for) but in the real world that ain't happening.
last season was just average
but the last episode was another level
I love them so much. ❤
We need a spin off!!!
Gracis .
I already miss this show ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
I wish I had such friends😭
I thought Jane would travel with the bodyguard guy...finaly man for her👏👏...i agree with Kat to be the best for the position...and i deffinitly not agree with Sutton&Richard...i know it's show but🙈🙈🙈
Still miss those girls in the final show?! I love about them! 👍😍💓💕💞👩👱
I have been addicted to this series. I've learnt so much from it! I'm a Christian so had to skip past some bits but it taught me so many lessons. Everyone should watch this. It's been Amazing
I will miss this show sooooooo much!!!!
I'm gonna miss seeimg Richard!😭
I ❤️ Kat Edison
I have yet to see Series 5-6episofes but girls your acting is truly amazing and very natural just as your editor Jackuline. This may sound weird and perhaps is, but I have been watching all 4 Series on. Netflix, back to back for over ,3 weeks and I still see or hear something new. Just for the record l have not got a publishing background and in my view it was a big mistake to end it, but I am still enjoying each episode as if it was my first viewing. Graham
It's good that this was the finale. It saved us from watching Kat managing scarlet and burn it to ashes.
He’s no longer gonna adopt
@@reneekwamboka8892 facts!
@@folklorevermore13 well. That's even worse. Yet another concession he had to make for Sutton. Smh. And some kid, is not getting a home with a good dad because of Selfish Sutton. Smh.
@@righteous1191 ? Selfish sutton? X D
When is it coming to Netflix?
When is it coming out on netflix? My Gf wants to watch
when is first episode of The Bold Type ?
I want the dress Sutton has
I'll forever love the girls. ❤😭
I Really Love this serie❤️
I wanted more but its over
I have things that I need to let out: before that SPOILER ALERT!!!!
1. Why there are only 6 episodes on season 5???
2. It's unfair that Sutton and Kat get to be with their one true loves (Richard and Adena, respectively) but not Jane? Oh Ryan 😭
Ryan is a liar and a cheater, thank god Jane didn't take him back.
@@BlueberryCheesecake8 i bet they just make him that just to get rid of him (the character i mean)..
@@laramiaizz I'm not sure, from the beginning it was established that he was a womanizer. It makes sense tbh.
Yo quería Ryan con Jane
omg is that it ? is that the last episode of season 5 ? was that the Final Episode of THE SHOW ?????!!!!!
Can anyone name the song playing in the background?
Sad to see it end
Sutton and kat will be so much better without her lmao
@@shabaraliberal1804 hate the ending of Richard and Sutton .... One sacrificing too much and other just being pain in the ass...
@@sushmitathakur161 I was sad Richard couldn’t get his dream to be a father too.
Especially since if it was the other way around, meaning Sutton giving up her dream everyone would’ve been mad
Birthing and raising an unwanted child for the sake of someone else is not an "adjustment".
A baby is not a bandaid to save your marriage. If the marriage will apart without a child, then it's a weak marriage anyway. Let it fall apart.
I miss themmm😩💗💗
I wanted more
Where I can watch this season?
This show was like therapy sessions for me.

Foxes - Courage
I randomly click something an this pop up
Seriously how can I watch season 4 and 5 in the UK 😩😩 I'm surviving on RUclips clips just bring it to netflix!
Way to much Jane this last season. It was really boring. But happy to get one last fashion closet moment and also that Kat is the next editor in chief
5th season was the most boring season ever!
im crying(( such a good stories) Loved watching it)))
Can someone tell what happens to Sutton in finale I mean in Sutton’s career.I know she and r
Richard got together.Out of 3 girls I kinda liked Sutton more because I felt she was simple, hardworking lady who kinda lagged behind in work compared to other friends.I know the feeling because I am honest, hardworking but I lags behind in career 😢
What’s the song in this scene called?
Foxes - Courage
Netflix, can you pick the series up for a 6th season???
But 6 Episodes thou 😭😭😭 I wanted more
I just wish these girls didn't all have to work at scarlet because their roles just seem to be enmeshed in each other it's hard to really see them as individuals. I mean we get to see kat do her thing because she's just a go getter and doesn't let anything stand in her way. Then Jane gets to shine because shes the main character. But I dont really vet to see sutton be her own besides be with Richard. I wish their roles were so clearly defined.
Why on netflix is just 4 sesons?
Netflix didn’t license season 5 worldwide, they thought it was too expensive.
😭😭😭😭❤️
Where can I watch the final season?
It also should also be on Freeform .com or their app. I use to catch up there before i had hulu. And Freeform is free. They use to only do the latest 5 episodes but im guessing since this season was only 6 they should have all the episodes.
Netflix have only 4 seasons
Eu adoro essa série! ♥ quando chega no Brasil, alguém sabe?!
Why doesn't RUclips have a spoiler warning! It's ruined two shows for me in the past few months like this
I literally says finale scene on the thumbnail
You can't read, can you? I saw this video thumbnail on my recommendation when i was starting to watch season 4 and i immediately scrolled pass it when i read that "finale scene" sign..
This was way to rushed wish they did a better job of writing the storylines.
Aah I cried at end this is life changinf series fo real. Idk why I wanted to see more Jane ane Scott now that she was leaving scarler she and Scott shud catch and travel amd write failing feminist column. Tbh 6 episodes for finale wasnt enough at all
