Hi John! What do you think about 10.. Ka6? The knight seems kind of misplaced in that position but it does safeguard against Kc7 from white. It does walk into potential discoveries given movement of white's knight on b5 but I can't see any obvious discoveries that you would need to be prepared for. Good game anyway :)
John Bartholomew Oops! Totally did not piece together that Bxf7+ would come with the rook threatening the queen simultaneously. Thanks for entertaining my blunderous idea anyway :)
on 4:07 you were loosing the game , but you opponent did not find it , when you played queen takes on c5 , he had knight to b5 and you were loosing the exchange or you will be down knight ,
Hi John, really nice game. One quick question though. I was surprised you did not consider playing 15...Na5. Not sure if it is the best, but it looks like a good move to me. Am I wrong?
+John Bartholomew Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Glad to know I was not crazy, I was too lazy to set up the position myself and run an engine on it :) By the way, loved this video. I am a Grunfeld player and I know I have to castle before playing Qxc5, but I never fully understood why. Now I know!!
+Sebastian Fernandez Thanks, Sebastian - glad you liked the video! As you can see I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to the Black side of the Grunfeld ;) Hope you can improve over my play.

Neil Shah Thanks, Neil!
10...Na6 would deal with the treat of 11.Nc7, but unfortunately it falls victim to 11.Bxf7+ Rxf7 12.Rxc5, winning my queen.

Neil Shah No problem. Thanks for your comment!

I really thought on 10, your Knight to A6 would at least save your Rook.
In this game in particular i was rooting for the lower rated player. He played a fine game. Sorry john
biernico Ha, no worries. He did play well.
One heck of a dogfight! ;O)
+Stefan Holbek I remember this game. Touch-and-go for awhile!

+Sebastian Fernandez Hey, Sebastian! Difficult for me to recall my though process, but 15...Na5 seems completely reasonable, yes!

ah missed 10.... Nd5
+blahs444 Still looks sketchy for Black after 11.Ne2, but yes - WAY better than what I did :)
