I wouldn't call Matter a workaround. Essentially they are supporting HomeKit through Matter, which I think is fine. Unfortunately I personally have had some issues with some Matter over Wifi Devices. I do think Matter is the future in terms of smart home support. But there is still much room for Matter to improve, which I think it will continue to do.
I do like my 2 lamp pro's and have one either side of my bed and it definitely gives a much better look and the two lamps do sync when in placed in a group on the govee app but bare in mind the speakers cannot be synced or connected together and for me that's a big disappointment as it would then be stereo sound and then paired with music it would have been brilliant and for the life of me can't figure why they didn't figure that out. If money is no object then yes they can make a great addition but otherwise 🤷
@Billwilderment If it's a single boys or man's bedroom then yes but bare in mind the brightness would be on the wall to the sides and behind the bed making that 3rd of the room bright whilst the rest would be just lit. The white lights however are extremely bright and could be used in a family bedroom but the wife would still likely devorce. I hope this helps you 🙂
I know they are "floor" lamps, but how cool would it be to mount it upside down from the ceiling? On the ground, it almost just looks like a giant toilet plunger.
I need a light up smart welcome mat for my home that says “Welcome to Govee Land”! That lightning effect with Govee would be cool if someone has those cloud ceilings. 😂😂 ❤️💪🏼😎👍🏼❤️
Thank you dude, saved me $100. Really looking forward to test these with dream view on my HT. I currently have the T2 on my TV, as I need an HDMI 2.1 version of the sync box to come out before I can upgrade that. But these will be the upgrade to my lyras. Great video!
I am finding the same thing! Homebridge is the winner over Matter via WiFi by a long shot (so far). I just don’t understand why firmware allows Matter lights to lose the Matter connection yet still have IPv4 connectivity to the App.
@shanecreates I think I figured out the homekit issue with matter. I was trying to add it directly from the home app but kept failing. I then tried adding to the govee app so the device would have a network but got the same issue with homekit when adding. I re read the matter documentation that came with it and it mentioned IPV6 on the router. I enabled that because I disabled it and once I did it added to homekit wo issue.
Separate your WiFi network into 2 separate ones for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Then join the 2.4 one on your phone and then add the lights to Matter (think that’s what got their M1 strip working for me)
Thank you for this review. I do love Govee lights with their wide range of selection and low cost. How did you add them to Homey Pro? Did you use Matter for the Lamp 2 and how did you add the Pro? Thank you again.
I need two of the pros to complete my current set up I have the t3 lite and the 15 inch lite bars and I want one of the pros for each corner of the back of my living room to complete my dream view setup
Just wondering more about the speaker. If I buy two of the floor lamps pro can I pair them with my Apple 4k TV to get surround sound? Or are the speaker a mono sound
I’ve started using a lot more Aqara devices. They are paired with Apple TVs and a home pod. I tend to get some offline issues from time to time. Would it best to use an Aqara hub for more reliable connection?
Great vid, really swayed me, but dont know if i want the pro or floor lamp 2. As someone with so much smarthome experience, are there any trustworthy apps for mobile that are compatible with IP security cameras?
I wanted the pro just cause it taller and it able to spin the light part. Does the 2 talk then the OG version? Again thank you for always coming through with the reviews.
Yea, those are two features I love about the pro. By "talk to the OG version" do you mean sync the colors and effects? They both support the "DreamView" feature which allows you to sync devices together to display the same colors and effects on each.

Hi, The code doesn’t work on the website?
Hey, code doesn't work.
Just wish Govee would get full apple HomeKit support instead of all the workarounds

FYI: for those thinking on buying, never buy a product based on future promises..They only deserve your money when they’ve gotten the work done
Here, here!
I wish they were taller.
Use a real smarthome ecosystem
This is the review I was waiting for. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Is Floor Lamp Pro worth it if you are not professional floor lamp user?

Do 2 Govee floor lights provide enough light to be primary lights in a master bedroom on either side of bed?

Toilet, plunger or light saver
@@snakeyjaake no, but do you know where I can get one? Must have internet access.

I’d love to see a side by side with the Philips Hue floor lamp. Any chance you have an opinion on those?

Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new smart lighting! 😃
Thanks for the thorough review. Nice video 💪
This is the perfect light for the dark corner in my home. However, issues with Matter is a problem.
Can you see the little individual LED dots inside the tube when turning in on?
I am finding the same thing! Homebridge is the winner over Matter via WiFi by a long shot (so far). I just don’t understand why firmware allows Matter lights to lose the Matter connection yet still have IPv4 connectivity to the App.
I've been seeing these pop up all over the internet recently, curious to see how well they preform.

Thanks for watching! I added them to Homey Pro using the Govee app for Homey - homey.app/en-us/app/com.govee.developer/Govee/
“Thank you Govee for sponsoring this video”. Which means thanks Govee for the free products that I can shill.

Just wondering more about the speaker. If I buy two of the floor lamps pro can I pair them with my Apple 4k TV to get surround sound? Or are the speaker a mono sound
There is no way to pair them to an Apple TV. They are basically the same as a standard bluetooth speaker. No AirPlay or surround sound.
Great info. Where did you get the cool bookshelf from in the video?
I’ve started using a lot more Aqara devices. They are paired with Apple TVs and a home pod. I tend to get some offline issues from time to time. Would it best to use an Aqara hub for more reliable connection?
I bought the speaker version how do I get to play music?
See "Playing Music" chapter: 8:20
@@ShaneCreateson the settings page for me there is no option to turn on pairing status
Will this work using the Aqara M3 Hub as the Matter hub?
Is there a possibility to pair 2 pro lamps for the stereo ?
Does it come with the UK 3 pin plug? And what’s the voltage and power rating?
Thanks Shane!! Order placed
Unfortunately I missed the part about the Pro model not having Matter support. Now I have a good floor lamp with the Govee app to control it. Ugh!
Hello, do you know, tell me their voltage, they are bivolt 110v and 220v
Can you pair the lamp pro with a bluetooth tv ?
What TV offers Bluetooth for output? Lip sync issues would drive anyone insane
@@joshfofer Samsung, it works good for sporting events but for movies or tv shows it is a little off

Can you connect two pro speakers together in a stereo mode if you have 2??
No that is not possible as far as I’m aware.
Does Homey Pro help with the Matter on your network with govee
I'm using the Govee-Homey integration, not Matter.

Sorry I meant to say taller than the OG version of the lamp
peux t on faire sortir le son de la télévision? on peut s'en servir comme barre de son ?

AirPlay??
no

Floor lamps are expensive
Looks like a giant toiletbrush.. dont like the design..
