These are some of the best testing I’ve ever seen I have a 496 similar to your Dyno mule and I am putting together a 540 that will be similar to this one. We do have Brodix ported heads but similar size anyway it’s been very helpful. Keep up the testing!!
That's the worst part about a dyno mule. The deck height & heads need to be pretty identical & even then you can't always expect everything to just bolt-on. Seems like most of what I do is very specific and for one specific application. But you're learning some valuable data & doing it right. It just isn't always easy as people think it should be. Great info
After milling the head deck surface, you need to correct the intake face on the head. The Big block chev is at 90degs. Just recut the intake face until it cleans up fully. And then run an extra thick intake gasket. So now any intake will bolt right on. NEVER cut the intake manifold.
Eric, great testing and video. I still always go with a Brodix intake, but I run al Brodix casting, so I go with the intake the heads call for. I have the intake machined to match the heads after they're machined. This sbc I'm doing the heads are 13.5° oval port, and for the first time, I'm going with an All Pro valley cover, and the intake is CID and they make them pacificly for the company doing the 13.5° Brodix 2300 symmetrical port because it's a little different than Brodix 2300 they offer.
looks like power still going up with dominator, where does it roll over, where would you shift NICE how was the match at the top of the ports, bottom not so much :)
Bit off topic Eric , I see someone fitting Promaxx cnc ported heads to a 440 BBM, would be awesome to see a review on these, lovin the vids ,especially the BBM stuff😊
Dang huge difference on hp difference also Facebook is messed up right now I don't know if they fixed it yet but I can't log in and a few of my friends can't neither so just to let you know
i was on a live feed posting about a totally different situation and story and my comments went to your channel and nicks garage youtube needs to be cracking down on chineese cause i have info on the case im not supposed to have and its linked to a special chineese interest so none of my comments are hitting this individuals site and some chineese hacker is shuffling them to other posts ! as crazy as it sounds its a fact
Would be nice if the engine specs are kept in description for easy refrence.
Excellent video, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
How much power would a dual plane cost a street 540?

This 540 is very impressive 875 hp is some serious hp just think what it would do with a pro charger. Very good video. Oh yes do the tunnel ram.

I wonder what the vacuum is under each carb at WOT

On flat mill it’s not really necessary
Great test. Well done Eric.
Test Afr 290 ovals
2 dominators on a tunnel ram would put you over the 900 mark
I'm thinking narrowing the cam lobe centers to maybe 108 deg. would build more mid range without sacrificing the top end.

Eric, have you ever tested a bbc profiler Sniper Jr. Intake?
I talk about it in the video.

Thank you again for the terrific information.
Just in time ❤
Yeah tunnel ram

The profiler tunnel rams the shit, Darrin Morgans design

man, you do some nice work. if only you were closer to me i would love sending you some parts.
Nothing better than a nasty Big Block Chevy! Frickin sweet! Thank you sir!
Well, if i had a 540 i might b interested
That's one hoss of a 540 right there
So close to 885 hp or 100hp/liter.
You have a bigger dominator? 900hp through a 1050 carb you are probably pulling 2" at wot.
Thanks
Nice!
