It's not weird. All depends on how much weight you have vs. power as to how well a smaller sprocket can get up to speed. This is why race cars can use a high rear end gear and still have insane acceleration. Because they have enough power to do it. There's a curve to everything.

My buddy and I have messed with our ct200's recently I found tillotson straight chain with 60 tooth had the best balance of torque and top speed. I'm really interested in this 40 sprocket with the stock jackshaft though.....
Well I have a nibbi pe22 and exhaust for my bt200x and I just grabbed the 40t sprocket just trying to see if this motor will be usable on another project of mine before I pull it. I have a 420 going on the Coleman soon and was debating on using my 276cc flathead or this Coleman motor on my mm80 I’m leaning towards my flathead and selling this motor if it doesn’t wow me soon… 😊
Shoulda went bigger with the rear sprocket and slapped a torque converter on it instead. Tons of power low and mid range and still good top speed. I have same bike with 60 tooth on the rear and 9 tooth on the torque converter jackshaft. Governor delete. It’s almost too powerful down low.. will put you on your back if you goose it from a dead stop or slow speed and will still do about 50mph with my big butt on it for top end.. I’m about 240lb
I have used a torque converter and straight chain. Check out the CT200U and CT200U-EX playlist for many more combos on this bike .Thanks for watching !
I have watched a bunch of them lol but all your testing done with the juggernaut and all of the mods to the ct200u I would of really liked to see if you would have kept everything the same and put a 60tooth rear. The power will surprise the hell out of you and surprisingly enough you don’t even lose top end speed.. you can get higher mph with straight chain and clutch but the down lower power is so terrible that the bike is basically rendered useless unless you only ride it on pretty level pavement and do no off-roading whatsoever. The torque converter and 60 tooth rear is an all around winner IMO. You can literally go trail ride in the mountains and have tons of power or cruise around the roadways still hitting about 50mph.. great content here love the channel. But would love to see the juggernaut and 60tooth rear combo tested 👍🏼
@@87fiveoh I'm not sure that would be worth testing. If you had 9/60 gearing with a Juggernaut once the belt shifts the result would be close to what you would have with the jackshaft and stock Coleman gearing. It would need around 7K RPM just to get to 40 mph. That's one of the reasons why I'm never going to use a Juggernaut. I would probably have to use 10/40 gearing with it to keep the RPM down at higher road speeds. I'm using 9/60 gearing and it is very fun prior to the belt shift. With a yellow spring in the driven in the tightest hole I get 4500 RPM in less than 100 feet in the yard. And half of the run is uphill. With my 196 I get to around 47 mph right at 5K RPM. With the 224 it should do better than 50. If you're getting 50 at 240lb you're doing really good. What engine and what mods?
@@Deucealive75 I have the 196 with governor bypassed and a stage 1 from go power sports and valve springs. 9/60 gearing on stock ebay tav 2 clone. I need to get a rpm gauge to see what kinda rpms I’m turning.

Was it just not broken in yet in the prior videos? Or maybe the taller gearing kept it in the max torque range just that much longer to where it accelerated quicker in the midrange even with the taller gearing. I mean could you tell 0-10ish was indeed slower at least, or not really a difference?
I think it had something to do with what you said . The engine comes with a small cam that is made for lower RPM . I think the gearing put it right in its max torque range . I've got a Tillotson 212 with governor delete, chinese mikuni, 125 main jet, and straight pipe with muffler on my mini bike. Gear is 10 tooth clutch and 44 tooth sprocket. For some reason, at full throttle, when I reach around 47mph the engine starts to cut off. I've tried bigger and smaller jets, and I've also experimented with removing the air filter for max airflow, but it always happens. Could this be a sign of valve float? I've got the stock springs in the Tilly and not quite sure what spec they are. Any suggestions would be awesome.
Not sure about the RPM you are turning but that could be the problem. One thing about it is the springs are super easy to change out and inexpensive. Another thing I've found with the Chinese Mikuni is the engine will cut out at the top if the main jet is too big. You can always look at the plug and make sure it has that nice brown color to see how it running as far as rich or lean goes.
How's about a 13 tooth jack shaft sprocket...and a clutch on final drive chain...a 1 to 6.3 ratio...and 2nd clutch starts to engage at 2600rpm to 3400rpm...nice torque take off and nice top end...
The 44 could be better if you are a bigger rider. Sometimes we can get to high of a gear on there and the engine doesn't have the torque to pull the gear. Check out this video on that topic if you haven't already. ruclips.net/video/xV8i59aGUao/видео.html

It really depends on what engine you're running. If you are going to upgrade to a 212 then the cc100x playlist will apply to your bike. It also had the 75 tooth rear sprocket. ruclips.net/video/tJeup9bo-wo/видео.html
I’m going to try a 42 tooth 420 chain split sprocket. I have a 55tooth and I’m already going 60+. I built my Tilly even more and cranking damn near 20 hp. I also run a juggernaut. How much top end do you think I’ll gain? Hoping to go at least 70
If that built Tilly has the torque to pull that gear it should fly!
@@Black66 oh it does haha, do you think it could hit 70? I also changed it to a 41 tooth sprocket lol! As small of a 420 split sprocket i could find
How did you get "30 MPH" out of that bike "STOCK"? Every one of those stock Coleman 200cc bikes come with a maximum speed of around 19-22 mph.
Watch the CT200U-EX and CT200U playlist for more speed combos on these bikes. Thanks for watching. ruclips.net/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/видео.html
@@Black66 you did NOT answer my question. In the video, at the 7 minute and 38 second mark, your whiteboard indicates "Stock 30 MPH"...
@@bobbrown4234he has aftermarket carb the stock ones have a governer spring you need to get zip tied but with the original linkage it doesn’t matter it’s just the butterfly valve that’s making it go 20 24 stock but mine was 30 with it zip tied i got a torque converter after and exhaust and vm 22 carb with 125 main jet it went 48 mph and now 41 is top speed after putting a 40 tooth sprocket instead of 50 stock so i’m kinda mad he got faster and i got slower 😂
@@bobbrown4234the original carburetor has the linkage connected to governor i don’t think the gear does anything with aftermarket but it didn’t let me full throttle when it was fully stock no zip ties but i should be happy with 40 i guess but i definitely spent enough so 55 should be the speed i don’t know what to add to get the 40 tooth to work as intended this guy knows but i have 196 stock nothing internal upgraded so maybe it’s something easy the low end isn’t bad but holding throttle is slower now than wih bigger rear sprocket his 212 preditor can’t be why their basically the same stock maybe more reliable idk i thought i would gain 8 mph like him not lose 8
Didn’t do anything to the governor?
External, not internal. Check out my other videos on this bike
Is the governor removed on this
I think the external governor was removed in this video. Check out the CT200U and CT200U-EX playlist for many different combos on these bikes. ruclips.net/video/ZFLSbnoH59g/видео.html
Can you sell me a 40 tooth if you have any extra ones by any chance please ?
I found it on ebay
It's that bullshit Chinese carb you got on there
How's about a 13 tooth jack shaft sprocket...and a clutch on final drive chain...a 1 to 6.3 ratio...and 2nd clutch starts to engage at 2600rpm to 3400rpm...nice torque take off and nice top end...
That would work. Check out the CT200U-EX playlist.
We try many different combos with this bike and others. ruclips.net/video/X0SmAZJ6qW8/видео.html
I’m trying to run a 12 tooth gps racing clutch with a 40 tooth sprocket is that a good idea?
are you planning on leaving the governor?
The only governor part left is the nylon wheel inside the engine . I'll take it out sooner or later. When I install a cam or a billet rod.
Do you have an extra 40 tooth sprocket you can please sell me ?? Or can you send me a link to a 40 tooth I can't find one at all for a ct200u
I left a couple of links in the description of the video for the 40 tooth. The first link might have one...
@@Black66 which video is it ?
I just ordered one on the link you had on the other video thanks man 🔥
What about a 44 tooth ? I will still get more top end with the 40 tooth tho right ?
The 44 could be better if you are a bigger rider. Sometimes we can get to high of a gear on there and the engine doesn't have the torque to pull the gear. Check out this video on that topic if you haven't already. ruclips.net/video/xV8i59aGUao/видео.html
@@Black66 okay I weigh about 115 pounds I'm pretty light and i will check out that video thank you

@@justinmanse2849 I use a Hemi in quite a few on the channel along with the regular Predator.
Link for the sprocket doesn’t work
Pretty strange how your 0-30 time it faster. Maybe because the sprocket is harder to pull the clutch slips more and lets you get a better launch? Great video though, I'll definitely be picking one of these sprockets up. Paired with a torque converter this sprocket will be super fast.
Thanks! That's probably why it is faster. Kind of Like slipping a clutch in a car.

Hey Kingman thats not far im down in Prescott. Just started the mini bike addiction in July. Still learning and watching videos. How do the stock tires hold up on road so far? Im doing about 50 50 on and offroad
Actually they have held up pretty good on the street so far . That’s is mainly where we do most of our riding .

what exhaust is on there?

Let me know if you find out bro I wanna know too

I am so confused how r u getting over 40 mph with this ?? I have the same bike same engine and have the 40 tooth on with a straight pipe and it only goes barely 30mph
You probably still have the internal governor on it I don't recommend taking out the internal governor without getting a billet rod and flywheel
im going to fallow but first i have to tell you my drag racing moto; drive it like you stole it !!!
I really want that
I literally was gonna do the exact same mod lol
I love that mod. This thing moves out now. And it is still quick. Surprisingly
you made your chain tighter after you took the 50 tooth off thats why you got a faster 0 to 30 wit the 40 tooth
Lol
in the drag racing world its all about torque and gear, so have no fear, now play with new mods and you may? can lower sprocket again. hay, i was imprest on you test as well not being a mini bike owner

Can I use #35 chain on my Coleman ct200?
I just swapped my 50 tooth for a 44 tooth and i also have a 12 tooth up front. I'm hoping i don't lose too much bottom end either but i did it cause i want to hit 50 mph. With the 50 tooth and 12 tooth up front i was hitting 41 mph so well see if the 44 tooth plus the 18 lb springs i just put in will do the trick. If not i also have a mod 2 cam coming in the mail soon. :)
Where did you find a 16mm 12t jackshaft sprocket? I bought a 5/8" 12t jackshaft sprocket recently and it was too small.
Time for a bigger engine lol…

Dude I just picked up the BT 200 X today and it's all stock with a 55 tooth rear sprocket but I wanted to add a 40 tooth rear sprocket.

Maybe depending on the weight of the rider. Try it out, If you don't like it you can always switch it back.
@@Black66 175 lbs. Thanks dude.
Put it this way if you had the Mini bike and you just wanted to do one upgrade what would it be? I know eventually I'll end up with a V8 and a blower on that thing but for now I just want to do a quick upgrade
