Dude great vids…I’m an Indian Scout Bobber owner but have recently become super interested in Royal Enfields as I recently got rid of my second/all weather bike( the bike I didn’t mind getting dirty lol) and I gotta say you have some of the best vids on here…. Here’s what I love about your vids….. you aren’t stuck in a rut and only ride one style or brand of bike…. I also love your thoughts on simplifying…the world continues to try and push us to bigger better and faster( not to mention more expensive)…. And I love that you let people know they are not less than someone else or some kind of a loser if you either can only afford a less expensive smaller displacement bike or that you just choose to ride one:)… Anywhoo thanks for just getting on here and sharing your thoughts and for all the positivity :) blessings brother
I've never really been an off road biker, other than cutting across a field here and there, but I'm really tempted to check one of these out. You're inspiring me man 🙂
I've ordered one in Oz. Test ride was fine. Mainly for sealed roads and fun. Occasional forest track or gravel road. Looking forward to getting on board.
Miss you man! Your enthusiasm for bikes and riding was a joy to watch! I go back and watch again, I'm thinking of getting a scram. Thought I'll see what the ol' Man had to say. Hope the iron lady is doing OK!
I have this bike. My very first motorcycle. I’m 6’2” 170lbs and mostly feel comfortable. I do find myself moving forward in the seat from time to time. Living in FL I ride as much as I can. Great review.
Finally got my a__ to a Royal Enfield dealer this past weekend. Sat on that identical bike, color and everything. Felt great. Didn't have time to for a test. First time seeing any modern RE's and super impressed. While sitting on this and the Himalayan I'm looking at a Classic 350 in the Dessert Signals. Love the look on that bike. Oh yeah, sat on that too! Can't wait to try them out.
I have also a Hymalayan from 2019. A did 3100 km till now. No problems. The Scram 411 is also good but you need the features. The Scram is a good ambasador for the Himalayan and for RE. The Himalayan is better, cause if you change the tires you will feel the same. But Scram 411 over all is a GREAT BIKE, but not for adventure
I'm sorry I missed the premiere today. Dog duty got in the way. I like the way the Scram 411 looks but as you say, for someone who wants to spend most of their time on dirt and gravel, the Himalayan has been perfect for that. For road rides, the Vespa GTS I have is still smooth, fast, and everything I need. I was curious about the seat being interchangeable. I won't ask.... Great video. Always a nice way to start the day.
Well done on another ace video Ronin I think the Scram with a main stand fitted ! would be fine as a back roads bike in UK Road surface standards are getting worse by the year here Ride safe keeping shiny side up
I just recently got my motorcycle permit and got one of these for my first bike. I've put about 600 miles on it so far and it keeps getting better as the engine breaks in. Fun amount of power, very agile, and makes a good sound. I would prefer a tach over the tripper module though, I've not had good luck with that thing.
First video of yours I have watched, subscribed and liked right away. Living in S.W. Ohio I have to support a fellow Buckeye👍 Other than that you are actually riding the bike and giving your impressions. Most videos show a lot of pictures of the bike sitting there with a list of specs and prices, and very little actual riding. Rode bikes from my early teens in the 70's thru the early 90's. Ready to retire and looking for something to ride for easy trips on back roads maybe an occasional dirt/ gravel road or easy trail ride. This is a bike I have considered and now I know where to find one nearby. Keep posting and I will keep watching. Keep your wheels down. And thanks.😎
Definitely a great bike. I would check out the Fantic Caballero. That thing is even lighter and more powerful as well. It's definitely a true Scrambler.
Nice review thanks I’ve just ordered the 411 scram this weekend and so looking forward to having some fun on it. I do have a Ducati scrambler 1100 which is definitely not a true scrambler but I’ve developed mine for the fast twisty roads which it dose brilliantly, the scram is going to be used for the green lane stuff.
G'day Ronin from Australia, Brother your having so much fun riding different machines at the same time passing on your thoughts, that's what l like about your videos, remember you have to be alive to feel cold, to ride in any weather is to be a true biker, the rain hasn't stopped for five days here and the northern part of the State of Victoria is in flood, had to ride the Interceptor through water over the road, it was 2ft deep and the bike performed perfectly, cheers mate keep safe, Neil 🤠.
@@OlManRonin hi Ronin, it's getting worse the flood, help is required sand bagging a local town close by, so my two sons and the two oldest grandsons and my self are going soon to help, Australia is a land of extremes, perfect one day, kill you the next, have a good one mate.
Well I was down the RE dealers last week, having some recall work done on my himalala,,, great job Cooper man , brakes are better than when I got it now! Anyway while I was there I had a real close look at the new scram, and I really liked the front mudguard and the seat, and yes I was told the fender and the seat won't fit on my 2k19 himilala, well,,, front fender went straight on, I have always hated , that captain beaky double fender set up , but if its taken off, you can kiss good by to ya head bearings each season, But hey the new mudguard takes care of that. They said it would look a bit odd, actually it looks great! The seat can be fitted, but you need to handy with some modifications, it won't go straight on, but can be done.
So someone with my 38 yrs in the saddle tired back would like this fr the very reasons you stated. Mostly road with occasional gravel or fire road. I’m really set on the classic 350 but I should check this out
Am just wondering if you can put another tooth on the countershaft? Hey I live in Seneca County Ronin and want to do the trip down to Mid Ohio to check out the Royal Enfield Scram. Since I don't do that much anymore and if it would pull the higher gearing it might make the perfect bike for cow trailing, well-abandoned rail lines and such. Am getting rather vintage, 69 years young, and am also 6'2" so from what you are saying it might be a great local APB, for local gen around use. Sorry the BMWR1150RT gets me in trouble for wanting to ride rather hard, and the Oldwing, a 93 Goldwing is a motorhome on 2 wheels which is nice on the highway but a handful around town and back roads. Mom has banned me from her F650CS, as for some reason when I get on it I ride it like I stole it, it begs to be flogged around. Her Buell Blast is basically a Moped with one hell of a ATTITUDE, did some rather minor upgrades and it gained a shitload of power but for me it is like that Russian Bear on a tricycle at the circus.
Just bought one of these! It tooks a few test rides of different bikes though! Test ride number 1: Voge 300 Rally: Made my teeth chatter and made my balls ache with the vibrations! Test ride number 2: Voge ac525x I really liked it, but it seemed cumbersome and heavy! Test ride number 3: Triumph 400x Scrambler. What a hoot, really liked it. It was a bike you could have such fun on......Buut....It had a snatchy throttle! Test ride number 4: Honda deauville 700! Did not like at all. Heavy and ergonomics were wrong for my 6' 2" frame Test ride number 5: Scram 411...Ahhh! 'Relax, I've got your back....Chill out what's the rush'! Minimul vibrations, easy to ride, and looks great......Yep!... This is mine! Thanks for the video! Mark.
Great show man! Everyone throws the "scrambler" terminology around, but when pressed for details, nobody is really able to define what a "scrambler" actually is... I find this very frustrating... Just out of curiosity, what is your deffinition of a scrambler bike?
Thanks for the video and info. The Scram is definitely tugging at my interest although the Hima is still at the top of my list for now.. As far as the seat for you on the Hima, check out Seat Concepts. They make a tall seat kit.
From one Central Ohioan to another, who's also a new rider - would the Scrambler/Himalayan be able to handle highway traffic in town? Specifically 315 and the northern loop of 270 between Dublin and Westerville? That's about all the freeway riding I need to be able to do from time-to-time and the 250 I bought used just can't quite make it much past 60 MPH. Also, with colder weather coming, would these bikes be able to handle reasonably clean winter roads like we get here in Central Ohio? Finally, how would these bikes fair in the Hocking Hills area? That's most of the riding I do - largely in Franklin county, I'd like to be able to do a few day trips here and there, and the very occasional gravel road (for example I have a brother-in-law in Morrow county who lives on a gravel road). Thanks for any advice you can provide to a noob from Central Ohio!
If I get one I'd have a center stand fitted before I took delivery. If you want more just go through all the Himalayan videos you'll soon get some ideas
Hey Ronin, Which of the two motorcycles is more comfortable for traveling and for the city, the classic 350 next gen or the scram 411, which of the two has better response to pass trucks on the road and to go with a passenger, thank you very much for your opinion (since you tested both motorcycles). A big salute from Argentina,
Currently deciding between a scram 411, a meteor, and a Honda rebel 300, I’m 5”5’ so seat height is a huge factor. I’m also a new rider, so I want something easy to learn on.
@@TruthSeeker9038 I had a CB300R and I hated the sound it made. Sometimes it overheated and didn't want to start. Overall good bike but the Hunter and Meteor is a lot more bike for less money. I would go back to owning a Grom 125 or getting a Monkey 125 before buying another 286 from Honda.
I know you said its happy around 55-65 mph but unfortunately I have alot of highways around me, would this or the original Himalayan hold 70 mph long travels pretty good?

the standard Himalayan stuff like windscreen wont work, but Im certain the aftermarket will full that void. Givi has a whole line of accessoties for the Scram, including pannier racks and the like. Check out their website
We don't have the 411 in Thailand yet, and I'm not sure we get it. Here, they are pushing the Hunter, I think it has to do with the market. Not really sure, but saddle height might be a factor.
