+Vlad II Dracul Blackstar? Blackstar was meant FOR his passing. Even the name, Blackstar, is a reference to a type of cancer lesion. The whole album has various references to his upcoming fate throughout - David Bowie knew for eleven months that he was going to die, he prepared himself for it and turned his death into a work of art.
+ProfessorRaskolnikov A blackstar is the remnants of a massive star that has collapsed because of its density. like a black hole in deep space. One of immense energy and gravity that even light cannot escape. Appropriate for a unique genius like Bowie. He could never be completely figured out and he left us with that unfathomable sliver of mystery and awe. Deep love and gratitude... and Godspeed, Starman.
TruthBeTold121212 I think you just described a black hole, and all black holes are in deep space, by the way. I've never heard anyone call them a 'blackstar', though, although I don't doubt the reference to the cancer might have doubled as a reference to a sort of science-fiction black star as shown in the Blackstar music video.
Oh yes...and so we'd even gladly watch him murdering that flute and still be happy...If David Bowie cannot lift your mood, I don't know who or what will...
Talk about a guy who had EVERY right to be pretentious and aloof, but rather was a down to earth bloke always ready to laugh at himself. Seems like the kind of guy you could have 3-4 beers with at a local and never stop laughing... and he was the guy the made the best music of the last 50 years. Insane. There are artists that haven't contributed 1% as much as he did that act like they are the second coming of Christ, but Bowie, who had at least 7 different incarnations EACH worthy on their individual merit of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, just seemed like an old friend ready to share a laugh. A big part of his legacy to me will always be his humor and personality. Thank god we live in a post RUclips world where we all can relive these moments whenever we start to miss him. Thanks for the life changing music, and thanks for the goofy smile currently plastered on me face. We all miss you man.
Lauri go rangers I've since found and watched more funny Bowie moments on RUclips, and it is just amazing how charismatic and funny he was. I know a lot of it has to do with British culture in general, being able to laugh at yourself and staying in touch with the everyman, but he really shined so bright in that respect. With that idea of Britishness in mind, just think of how SERIOUSLY some American artists take themselves! Your brain won't even let you imagine Bob Dylan being as light and fun as Bowie was. Or just think how one dementialy arrogant and humorless most rappers are, and they don't possess half of 1% of Bowie's talent. One glaring exception is seems to me was Jimi Hendrix. If you ever watch his interview with Dick Cavett, you'll see just how humble and funny he was. I'm sure if he was still with us he would be just like how Bowie was.
I agree once more with you :) Jimi & David both had high intelligence & therefore high capabilities for music, literature, etc.. Including great humor :)
Lauri go rangers Totally! Great point! Can you think of any other musical artists who carried themselves in such a manner? I've seen some stuff with Elton John and Paul Mccartney that really made me laugh, but I'd love to hear who else you think was like that. :)
+Tom These videos are wonderful ... giving us a glimpse into David Bowie's personality beyond his music. This is just so amazing; he is so charismatic. You know ... David's charm, wit, humor, humility, and warmth is a lot like that of Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin (anyone who has seen Robert's interviews would agree). Can you imagine these two in the same room together? What a laugh riot that must have been. ~sigh~ Yeah ... but I wish we still had David, the way we (very thankfully) still have Robert.
love this guy!...I hadn't really seen too many interviews with him before, never realized how charming and funny he is. He doesn't have a huge ego like some stars, just a down to earth genuinely nice man, and one handsome dude!
i felt like absolute s h i t half an hour ago because of some things, and now that i'm watching these videos of him i'm actually feeling much better so thankyou for making it :) i'm sad but happy at the same time, like i was laughing while bawling my eyes out :')
Instead of crying sad tears, this made me cry happy tears. I'm so glad he existed. He was such a bubbly person. I strive to be that lovable and happy person he was. Miss you David!💕
The first clip had me laughing till tears came out. Still can't believe this man is gone from our world, but at least he's in a better place now. R.I.P David Bowie, your legacy will live on forever
+Vlad II Dracul He wants us to be happy....*))) This is one of the reasons why he didn't want anyone to know about what he was going through and why he wanted to be buried alone.
I loved David Bowie and still do, he was an amazing person, as a kid he let me escape into the amazing fantasy of labyrinth jareth being my favourite character, yesterday was a very upsetting day for me and many others
My hubby - an admirer of Bowie himself - played the song "Heroes" the other night. And I felt an instant sadness... AGAIN...about the fact that he's gone. And I asked him "When, WHEN will it stop hurting me to the core that he's dead? " Since I was a kid he was so inspirational and important to me. It was and still is like I've lost something very special... a symbol, a gem, something basic like a color that is gone forever now. David, I've never known you personally, but you were and still are a very important person in my life! I'll love and miss you forever.
I went to a tribute tonight in a little seaside town, and boy was the joint jumping especially when the "Passenger" from Lodger came on- it was great to see everyone really getting into to things the real young hipster to the 60 pluses that is the freedom he gave people - to be themselves. Shine on you crazy beautiful diamond dog! We will never forget you.
+nostaligicangel I hate to be pedantic (well, maybe I don't :-)), but "The Passenger" is from Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" and is about the only song on that album which Bowie did not co-write with Iggy.
Thank you SO much for taking the hours and hours of your time to bring these gems to the rest of us. I was watching the clip that Conan did about David and your funny moments were in the margin....its good to have some laughter to mix in with the tears....
His voice appeared in my dream a week ago. I was scared for my brain tumor. I had a craniotomy. In the dream, I asked him, "Will I be ok?" His ghost said, "It'll be alright, sweetheart."
I was never around during Bowies prime and just recently started to listen to his music. As a musician myself, I consider David to be one of the most brilliant and inspiring musicians to ever walk the face of this earth and mars for that matter. Rest in piece, Starman.
"I'll just gonna get older, and older, and never stop singing!" and so he did.
Literally, an album released hauntingly close to his passing.
Exactly what he did
What a legend

I get the reference very good
Thanks for uploading....*))) His humor will remain like everything else he did for us.
He was so sweet and kind and witty.
God,we miss you so much ,David
"Nothing can stop me from laughing..."

His smile is so contagious too
coolest guy in the world, but all he did was make dad jokes.
what a gem. :')
Elle J. Winsett i wonder if it was sarcastic or not?
something bad it was sarcasm
David Bowie is hilarious, who knew, and down to Earth, quite rare in celebrities.
+katiemiaana
He's always been funny.
Good old English sense of humour
Oh yes...and so we'd even gladly watch him murdering that flute and still be happy...If David Bowie cannot lift your mood, I don't know who or what will...
He is hilarious. I didn't think so at first because I'm a fellow capricorn, but he grew on me like fungus. Lol. But hes the best. He's just wonderful.
Oh how lucky I was to be born in a time where David Bowie was in the world
KingOfTheCairns has
He said..."I wish I could have more time..." yes...I wish you could...I'd wish you'd never gone...

I agree 100%... Love him! RIP & long live Bowie in our hearts :)

so that's why we all had to learn the recorder in elementary school
+kuroshitsuji1fan "If David Bowie had to learn it, then so should you!"
-Teacher excuses
+burpie lol hahahaha
That is the only excuse I will allow...
love this guy!...I hadn't really seen too many interviews with him before, never realized how charming and funny he is. He doesn't have a huge ego like some stars, just a down to earth genuinely nice man, and one handsome dude!

8-10 cups a day?! That explains a lot!

I CANT STOP LAUGHING
Oh, me either!
Instead of crying sad tears, this made me cry happy tears. I'm so glad he existed. He was such a bubbly person. I strive to be that lovable and happy person he was. Miss you David!💕
I love that he was abit of a tech nerd on top of everything. " oh don't start, clean her desktop up!"
He was so HILARIOUS, and pardon the pun, down to earth. Truly going to miss his presence on this plain.
The first clip had me laughing till tears came out. Still can't believe this man is gone from our world, but at least he's in a better place now. R.I.P David Bowie, your legacy will live on forever
Thanks so much for this. Really diminishes the blow from his passing.
+Vlad II Dracul I agree. His sense of humour was brilliant and it really does help process the loss. .
+Vlad II Dracul I second that.
exatly 28 days before he died ,you have uploaded this, not knowing ,we wouldnt be talking about hum now,in past sentence..
+Vlad II Dracul He wants us to be happy....*))) This is one of the reasons why he didn't want anyone to know about what he was going through and why he wanted to be buried alone.

He may be gone but still spreads happiness
My hubby - an admirer of Bowie himself - played the song "Heroes" the other night. And I felt an instant sadness... AGAIN...about the fact that he's gone. And I asked him "When, WHEN will it stop hurting me to the core that he's dead? "

David, I've never known you personally, but you were and still are a very important person in my life!
I'll love and miss you forever.
Its been a terrible week, I still can't get over his passing, but it was nice to see his humor and funny side.
I found my old diary, and I was eating steak the day he died.
Love him, but is it just me, or were his natural teeth sexier?
8:15 his best look ever....
Totally agree
This really helps, thank you
a fabulous video of David being himself - great to see and he will be missed by us all.
Wow! David Bowie loves coffee as much as I do....
I swear he was high with the glasses part (R.I.P Starman)
I went to a tribute tonight in a little seaside town, and boy was the joint jumping especially when the "Passenger" from Lodger came on- it was great to see everyone really getting into to things the real young hipster to the 60 pluses that is the freedom he gave people - to be themselves. I know man. They could be brothers
David Brosnan or Pierce Bowie, it works
I knew David Jones 💓😗💓😢
I was never around during Bowies prime and just recently started to listen to his music. As a musician myself, I consider David to be one of the most brilliant and inspiring musicians to ever walk the face of this earth and mars for that matter. Rest in piece, Starman.
