Can you guys do a most underrated Broadway musicals. So we can have Newsies, Seussical, Tuck Everlasting, James in the Geint Peach, Matilda, Once on this Island, Miss Saigon.
Facts damn THEY ARE ROBBED EVERYWHERE I mean everybody agree that it's a wonderful show but I feel like it has zero recognition and that makes me quite sad because I love this musical with my whole heart
@Andrew Esparza Urie The revival of Falsettos had closed months before the Tonys took place. Not only was Hello, Dolly! running and fresher in people's minds, but it also received unanimous praise from critics.
falsettos revival is my favorite, but it’s closely followed by once on this island. i was lucky enough to see the revival on its broadway run and it was INCREDIBLE
Chiara Offreduccio YEs the helicopter was amazing. But I also loved Eva Noblezana I mean she was just a year younger than Lea when she stared in the revival and had such a strong and beautiful voice.
@@chiara1194 I prefer him over the original he makes the characters so charismatic and the original for me acts like a villain and although I believe the original had better singing skills Jon Jon will always be my favorite
I am great friends with Hailey Kilgore. My folks and I saw her in OOTI during Presidents' Day weekend 2018. After seeing the show, we got to visit with her and I sang for her It's You, I Like from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. As soon as I finished the song, she hugged me with tears in her eyes and I even met 2011 Disney Legend, Lea Salonga.
@@jennatomashosky8624 YES THANK YOU they are the best two for me (a lot of other composers are great too, honorable mentions for me are Rogers and Hammerstein, Stephen Schwartz, etc.) but these two are just a whole nother level it's so iconic. (There are also great contemporary composers though, esp. Dave Malloy and Lin-Manuel Miranda for me!!!)
Before I watch the video, just wanted to recommend a current revival: Kiss Me, Kate! Not sure if it will be on the list, probably not because it's so new, but it's amazing! It's currently on Broadway with Kelli O'Hara, Stephanie Styles and Corbin Bleu! The choreography and acting are fantastic!
I really enjoyed the revival of Falsettos. I forget his name, but the person who plays Whizzer is brilliant. Love his acting. Especially the “I’m not sure Jason, Jason maybe so, *Absolutely* Jason!” Part. The way he said it makes me laugh every time.
Still crossing my fingers for another revival of Big River, just so I can see it with my little brother who is a big Huckleberry Finn fan. He literally reads the book every few weeks and sleeps to the song "Worlds Apart" and "River in the Rain".
Followed Falsettos journey from In Trousers ("How Marvin Eats His Breakfast") to March of the Falsettos to Falsettoland (which I did get to see on B'way) to Falsettos (a mash up of March and Land). Such a great show. Of course, Chicago has now made history as the longest running Broadway revival and the longest running American Musical on Broadway. I just learned that a young man from our recent production (in Lubbock Texas of all places) has been cast in the ensemble when the show re-opens on Broadway. Go Zach! Could not be prouder!
Once in this island is always my forever favorite! I was in a production in high school and met my husband in the process! It's always my number one! It is actually based off of The Little Mermaid (original fairytale) not Romeo and Juliet.
OOOH! I actually saw that revival of "South Pacific" with Kelli O'Hara! Not only was it a brilliant production, but I even got to stand on the stage and go backstage after the show to meet some of the cast members!! Thanks to the good offices of an alumnus of my high school, I was able to get a group ticket and go with the director of my high school musical (Class of 81!) and several alumni who were also in many of the musicals my high school performed over the years. This Broadway baby was in absolute awe and raptures! Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For me, Pippin is the best musical revival. It gave fresh life to a show that, without the vision of Diane Paulus, would’ve remained in obscurity and not given the love it deserves. Then again, it was the first actual musical I did so I’m a bit biased.
South Pacific (2008), The King And I (2015), Carousel (2018), Anything Goes (2011), Miss Saigon (2014 West End), The Color Purple (2016), Guys And Dolls (1992), Cabaret (1998), Chicago (1997), Hello, Dolly! (2017), West Side Story (2009), Gypsy (2008)
Once on this Island is actually supposed to be a reimagined version of The Little Mermaid (not the Disney version) with themes from Romeo and Juliet mixed in as well.
Ahhhh Chicago!! Especially after seeing Fosse/Verdon show the many hurtles the show went through, I appreciate Chicago even more than I already did!! :3
I was lucky enough to be able to see Les Miserables in the final weeks of its run in 2016 with John Owen-Jones as Valjean, one of the most well known. It was amazing. The only other show I've seen on Broadway was the Music Man revival in 2000 with the primarily known as a movie actor Craig Bierko as Harold Hill. (Fully enjoyed that one!)
10: South Pacific (2008) 9: Falsettos (2016) 8: Once On This Island (2017) 7: Gypsy (2008) 6: Les Misérables (2014) 5: Anything Goes (2011) 4: Annie Get Your Gun (1999) 3: Guys and Dolls (1992) 2: Cabaret (1998) 1: Chicago (1996)
One of the best revivals in the Deaf West production of Spring Awakening because of its beautiful concept of using deaf actors along with hearing actors to tell a story centered around the miscommunication of sex and sexuality among youth through the literal way of people not being able to hear. It was beautiful.

Can you guys do a most underrated Broadway musicals. So we can have Newsies, Seussical, Tuck Everlasting, James in the Geint Peach, Matilda, Once on this Island, Miss Saigon.
Where was The Color Purple???
Where's chorus line and rent why isn't in there it should be 1000%.
@@averytussing7913 Newsies is not underrated
David Klak to some people it totally is.
Falsettos deserved to be AT LEAST #5...the amazing story paired with that cast is SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!
they put falsettos in the thumbnail so that people would click on it then gave it #9, it got robbed just like it did at the tony’s :(
LITERALLY
Facts damn THEY ARE ROBBED EVERYWHERE I mean everybody agree that it's a wonderful show but I feel like it has zero recognition and that makes me quite sad because I love this musical with my whole heart
EXACTLY! as a depressed, gay, teen theatre kid, im sad
Chicago is so ingrained as a broadway staple I forgot it even was a revival
I can't believe Pippin was just an Honorable Mention. The revival was arguably better than the original.
I am a simple person. I see Falsettos and click immediately. Because it's my number one. Falsettos is life
Татьяна Пополова same here
Absolutely same
It’s like, what would I do if I hadn’t heard of Falsettos?
Facts damn
Same sis
In my opnion, Falsettos should be higher
I'm so with you on that, definitely deserves higher than #9
I agree falsettos was amazing
YESSSS
I so agree! Falsettos should’ve been at least top five in my opinion
Should’ve been number 1🙄😂
The Once on This Island revival is my favorite!!! That show was so beautiful and touching.
Edit: ITS ONLY 8??? And Falsettos is 9???
i feel like the deaf west revival of spring awakening should've at least gotten honorable mention
yes oh my god!!!
agreed
Honorable mention means it was in line for being number 1
Omgaw yess
It should have gotten #1
Falsettos was robbed at the Tony's and i will forever be salty
Tyra Kristiansen I clicked this just to like comments about Falsettos being robbed at the Tonys
Same😤
@Andrew Esparza Urie The revival of Falsettos had closed months before the Tonys took place. Not only was Hello, Dolly! running and fresher in people's minds, but it also received unanimous praise from critics.
*sees Falsettos in thumbnail* YES
*Falsettos is only 9 on the list* excuse me ???
Falsettos was robbed at the Tony's, and now this list.
Ikr smh
one hundred percent agree
This is a damn conspiracy
falsettos is niNE??? offended
It deserved so much higher but I'm happy to see it and OOTI on here! Also where is Deaf West Spring Awakening?!
It should honestly be no1 ❤️ I love falsettos with all my heart 😍😍
The 2016 Revival of She Loves Me deserves at least an honorable mention. She Loves Me is criminally underrated overall.
in my opinion, falsettos should be higher, and also where is the color purple???????
I think the second half of the list had the order all wrong. Also where was the revival of The Color Purple or A Chorus Line??
Devon Savage exactly! The color purple is just amazing!
YES A CHORUS LINE!!!
A CHORUS LINNNEEEE
falsettos revival is my favorite, but it’s closely followed by once on this island. i was lucky enough to see the revival on its broadway run and it was INCREDIBLE
Falsettos is number one
forever
Nine months.
Ten months.
NINE MONTHS.
They should have added the revival of Miss Saigon. That was amazing.
i second this, it was so heartbreaking and overall phenomenal to witness :)
Chiara Offreduccio YEs the helicopter was amazing. But I also loved Eva Noblezana I mean she was just a year younger than Lea when she stared in the revival and had such a strong and beautiful voice.

“What Would I do” from Falsettos makes me cry every time 😭😭😭😭😭
Bethany Jones same!
Just reading the words What Would I Do makes me cry 😭😭😭 Falsettos deserves the world but is robbed everytime
I’m a simple girl. I see Falsettos... I cLiCk!!
I am great friends with Hailey Kilgore.

You are lucky, I've only met a guy that was on food Network
When I saw falsettos was 9 I felt attacked, but Chicago as number 1 makes sense.
Pippin was definitely worthy of being in the Top 10. It’s still my favorite experience I’ve ever had at the theater.
I was so lucky to see Falsettos in 2016, i hated Andrew’s character in the beginning and ended up crying at his *spoiler alert* Death
With me it was more like
I absolutely hated act 1!Marvin and Whizzer
And then act 2 hit
And I haven't exactly stopped crying
Could you guys please make a video about the Top 10 Broadway Composers?
I second this!!
JONATHAN LARSON
YES
Jason Robert Brown and Stephen Sondheim
@@jennatomashosky8624 YES THANK YOU they are the best two for me (a lot of other composers are great too, honorable mentions for me are Rogers and Hammerstein, Stephen Schwartz, etc.) but these two are just a whole nother level it's so iconic. Spring Awakening?🥺
Deaf West Spring Awakening is without a doubt the most incredible revival of a musical ever, and it hurts me that it wasn't on this list.
DW SPRING AWAKENING?!?!?
this shoulda been #1 it was beautiful. not even a mention is beyond disappointing.
I feel personally robbed
Falsettos is the reason I came and I'm upset it's so low
It should be higher
I think the colour purple 2016 revival needed to be on here.
Haydon Dickie amen
Les Miz was great but the casting of Nikki M James as Eponine was CRIMINAL 💀
I have to say that my favorite revival is either the 2012 revival of Evita or the 2018 revival of Oklahoma
Porgy and Bess, with Audra McDonald and Norm Lewis, is the best.
Falsettos. Sob.
Faith Prince is what made the Guys & Dolls revival.
Falsettos definitely deserves be higher up on the list. It's a masterpiece. Also they had to show that Tony clip 😂
Top ten broadway plays that need a revival
YES! Matilda should be on that list.
LOOK AT MY FAVOURITE IMPERFECT FAMILY MAKING THE COVER
Yes Pippin! By far my favorite revival along with 42nd Street. I actually really didn’t like the Cabaret revival, but I get that a lot of people did.
the Hair 2009 revival should’ve been AT LEAST an honorable mention.
Agree completely.
I agree completely. I saw that show and it was phenomenal.
Are you kidding me? Falsettos at 9? Disappointment
Leanne Haddock there’s been plenty of better ones lol. Also, the tea is it didn’t even win best Revival.
The 1992 Guys and Dolls was one of the first shows I ever saw live and holds a special place in my heart 😊
When I did a production of that show in high school, the 1992 revival's cast recording is what we used to practice with.
I have a soft spot as I was in it for my school's production. I had so much fun and made a lot of new friends
"starring a magnificent Christian Borle as Marvin" uM eXcUSE ME what is NOT a magnificent Christian Borle?
The 2017 revival of Hello, Dolly should've been at least an honorable mention
Scotch Tape I know, that revival was fantastic. My favorite musical!
I really enjoyed the revival of Falsettos. I forget his name, but the person who plays Whizzer is brilliant. Love his acting. Especially the “I’m not sure Jason, Jason maybe so, *Absolutely* Jason!” Part. The way he said it makes me laugh every time.
Once on this Island shouldve topped this list. BEST SHOW IVE EVER SEEN
The 1994 Carousel Revival is one of the most beautiful pieces of theatre ever put on stage.
I will forever have a soft spot for Guys and Dolls as I was a crapshooter in my school's production of it. I'm quite glad it was #3
I LOVE Ramin! I wish they had done a cast album.
We just did 'Chicago' for my school and ironically people said our show last year 'A Chorus line' was better... too real man🤣🤣
I love "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown"! We did that in high school (I was in the pit no singing talent here). ^_^
My favorite’s gotta be Les Mis 2014. Ramin is my favorite actor of all time and I just find it incredible.

If Deaf West's Spring Awakening is not at least an honorable mention I will riot
edit: AND RIOT I WILL
This is deaf west spring awakening, Sunday in the park with with George 2018, angels in America, and company 2008 erasure
Was that a Sally Brown Funko Pop figure?
In my opinion the 10th anniversary of Les miserables was the best. The cast was amazing
So, nobody is going to discuss the 2016 revival of Fiddler On The Roof?
Danny Burstein was a wonderful Tevye, they did that show so much justice!
Cabaret and Chicago in the top makes total sense, but not even an honorable mention for spring awakening 😭

Nick Ducote I thought La Cage was beautiful too
