I don't know why I keep hearing people aren't impressed with the CAS! It seems we are getting a lot of trendy stuff and some basics we have been needing for a while, along with some more risqué stuff! I love it!
side thought after seeing all these outfits: they should’ve added an “exotic dancer” career. it could’ve been a playable career where people give you request for what they want to hire you for, you choose their outfit, you show up to parties and perform routines and get tips. how much money you make depends on how well the outfit matches their request and how skilled you are at performing the routines. this might be slightly too mature for the sims, but it seems like a great way to use all these cool outfits in gameplay. but lowkey not too mature cause we had this in the sims 3. and they could call it a “party dancer” or something.
I'm in love with the new face highlighter and lipstick! Love those new hairs especially the textured one with highlights! (Happy that cc eyelashes can have it's own slot, now maybe I can wear them with rings!)

The shine on the clothes seem to indicate leather, pleather or satin depending on the item. Strangely (and I could be very wrong) a lot of the clothes sort of give me late 90s vibes with the crop tops, the spaghetti straps, the flared low-rise pants and cropped cardigans... That one top that adds body gems to the chest. The gradient/ombre. A bit of Y2K came to mind with some of the costumes.
Yes soma is for retro clothes. But some I think are supposed to be more for bedroom wearing or at least designed for double use. Like that one base game jumpsuit
I appreciate that you went through every single item! I love that highlighter facepaint!!! And I fully agree that the harness top for males should also come without the undershirt. Though the swatch with the star on what looks like a vinyl record had me thinking bands pack confirmed lol. This CAS is solid, I was worried the costumes would mean no real regular outfits but there are a lot of great options. Can't wait for modders to add those costumes to the halloween costume section so we have more options to use every Spookyween! Re: the shiny football shirt and pants - perhaps that would be a great sleep option for a sim that loves soccer from DU!
Most of the shine is I believe is meant to represent the type of fabric the item is, for example, a lot of the dresses have a similar sheen to what I would expect satin or silk to have. I'm loving almost all the CAS I'm seeing for this pack, even the costumes! I think they'll bring a lot of spice and fun gameplay we've been missing in the game. A lot of my Sims are pretty bold when it comes to fashion, so I could see myself styling Sims in regularly in pretty much ever asset, especially the nightlife ones, I've been wanting some new clubbing outfits in the game so badly! Also, I know the babydoll dress is supposed to be nightwear but I'm itching to pair that with combat type boots and choker for a cute alt femme outfit haha
I feel like the spades on the bowling type shirt might be a lil shout-out to asexuals bc that's often a symbol associated w ace spectrum. The 'romantically reserved' also basically lets you make your sim demisexual/aspec if u want, which I think is pretty neat!

I like the two hairs at 5:44 (the long one) and 6:06 (short with clips). I will use them lots. Then I like the earrings and necklaces with hearts and the butterfly earrings a lot. For the CAS I like a lot of it, there is some really bright white and pink stuff here which I love. They have lots of things that go well with bra and lots of basics so I think the CAS is really good.
Clothes for younger sims is my fav, ugh 🙁 I know its a romance pack but some cutesy heart related clothes and jewlery could be nice. A butterfly costume, maybe?
For the first hair style, those are not stripes. I do believe they were trying for a wavy hair texture. If you hair is wavy and you brush it back into a pony tail it will look like that! (I’m black and I have that exact hair texture)
They were only stripes because of the color it was. She was looking at the dyed version first, which had the "stripes", you can see the difference in the hair color black and brown. But yeah the texture contributed to the stripes look as well. Though it showed stripes of different colors.
With how many more interesting traits they've been adding to the game, they should eventually add at least one or two new trait slots. Without Growing Together, there just isn't enough to create sims that feel too unique characters from other characters.
I wish girlfriend and boyfriend hadn't been removed as options - I'm all up for 'partner' being an option, but being inclusive does not include excluding.
It’d be cool if there was a pro wrestler career or an exotic / gogo dancer career to use the costumes for then you could make like nightclubs or gyms that have those things. It would also be cool if there was a pole dancing pole item that works like the rock climbing wall machine and you can level up the skill. Obviously there’d be a pole dancing death, I feel like the pole death would be getting struck by lightning or the pole falling over mid routine
The Sims team have really upped their game on the Custom Content stuff. I will be getting this pack probably just for the CC. I spend hours just making my Sim.
Thank you for this video I'm glad we received new Cas items for both Male and Female one of the hairs for the male I just can't bring myself to use it on a male sim, female well maybe but just depends. I wish we could have something with the chains but I guess they just wanted it to be that way.
I'm glad we got an eyelash category but I really wish they had given us the option to remove the chunky thick lash that is attached to so many of the preset eyes! They always looks awful and it makes so many of the presets unusable
The hat is from the costumes, one is suposed to be a park ranger type thing. The second mask is for sleeping, you can buy them anywhere. I wore them as a teen for medical reasons. I still have one somewhere that I hand embroidered. The first mask is reminiscent of the "sugar-skull" masks that Mexicans wear for festivals like CincoDeMayo and Dia de Los Muertos. Some "sugar-skull" masks are full face, others just makeup, but some are just over the eyes. That mask 8:08 is just a subdued version of those.
"Amore" is Italian. "Amor" is Spanish. Just a tip for Latino etc surnames. Women typically don't take thier husband's surnames. That is something I hate, hate, hate about the game. It always pops to the mans last name when they marry. I never marry my sims any more, because even when I reset it in CAS, it just pops back to hubbys name when I reload to play next. And you said Esme and Rami were cousins, they can only be paternal cousins because cousins from thier mom would have a different surname. They would also likely have hyphenated last names which would be different because they have different moms, unless thier moms are siblings as well as thier fathers. The way hyphenated surnames work (if you are into realism in gameplay) is thus: Dad/Ronaldo Amor-Diaz, Mom/Anna Rodriguez-Gomez, so Rami would have the surname Amor-Rodriguez. Dad/Gonzalo Amor-Diaz (Ronaldos twin brother), Mom/Consuelo Martinez-Alvarez, so Esme (Esmeralda means Emerald) would be Esme Amor-Martinez. Kids get the first half of each of thier parents surnames, Dads first. If you meet someone who has a latinate (Iberian) surname that is not hyphenated, it typically means that the family has been in the US for a few generations and has dropped the double surname, but not always. My family came to what is the USA before the Revolution, when Spain still owned this part.
I'm loving the CAS with this pack! I mostly use cc for CAS but I'm impressed with this Lmao I'm guessing the catfish costume is there because of Cupid's Corner (since people catfish on dating apps)
The clothes are so shiny so that when the sims make a date via the dating app they can tell their date “I’ll be the one nearly blinding you, can’t wait! XOXO”
Im trying to figure out what is with all the butterflies all of a sudden? There were ton of butterfly decals in the party essentials kit, now butterflies in this pack, are they hinting at something or is butterflies trendy rn lol
The shiny fabrics are probably supposed to represent satin clothing Since satin has a shine to it, very soft if you get good quality and its smooth... Though its a terror when your trying to sew with it
Why is the makeup so shiny? Because Ciudad Enamorada is supposed to be Mexico City, not HOA USA. They only wear makeup like that for festivals (sugar-skull again) etc not every day, similar to Carnaval in Brazil. Use it on the party outfit...
Some of Mexico is desert. The Chihuahua and Sonoran are the two major ones, so cactus makes sense. Look at the Mexican flag. The snake will make sense.
I always look forward to your cas review! There are some nice pieces definitely.. but I would not buy this just for the cas imo(unlike some packs). Not a huge fan of many of the pieces and many are very situational.
Great review .and I’m glad that they actually added masculine mens clothing . Was tired of the feminine clothes for men . And the shiny clothes I believe maxis was simulating satin or silk . And if these 2 sims are base game sims without cc and mods ,could you upload them to the gallery . Console base game sims are ugly . 😊

For the new eyelashes they kinda just look like you put wayyyyy too much mascara on and it's all clumping together. I hope that made sense.

I think all these butterflies are hinting at fairies coming. There is a lot in the new world that has a lot of butterflies on it.
Butterflies aren’t heavily associated with fairies..
I think it’s because there’s a place in the new world called Plaza Mariposa. Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish.

Kids get a couple of hairstyles, but that's it. This pack is clearly geared towards more risque content so they wanted the focus on them.
