Halo: Reach - Flying a Full Seraph (REVISITED)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- On the mission Long Night Of Solace, you can actually fly a Seraph. It's kind of like a secret vehicle that you can't get to fly any other time. In our old video from many years ago, we did show you how to fly a mini seraph, but now in this revisit, we'll show you how to fly a full size seraph. Enjoy!

Seriously thought no one uploaded shit like this nowadays... Just wanna say thanks dude... really miss the halo days :)
VenomTV someone remove your like
VenomTV they will return in 2020
Rittmer nice
How people find this stuff out is beyond me, fair play
Randompancakes12345 yeah I don't understand it either
a few developers probably should there friends how to do it then they showed their friends and so on and so on...
This wasn't left in intentionally so I doubt dvgd's theory is correct, seems like someone just spent hours fucking around outside the map to try and see if they could get in a Seraph
wrong
Wrong. Things are left in the game all the time, period.
To the guy below, yes it was cut content.
Fun fact: Reach was to have a playlist that was a little like Battlefront as an invasion gametype and dogfighting would have been a thing. MS rushes everything so it was cut. Anything you see with unique traits (reticule, ability to enter if spawned by default, etc.) that isn't normally accessible was usually cut.
They say space battles were originally going to be part of multiplayer, but were cut at a rather late stage. That would explain why the Seraph is quite usable.
The balls at the end of the video are used for reflection mapping, I believe. Being an old Xbox 360 game, most reflections and lighting have to be baked into the level, so those balls are what they draw the assets from.

God reach is STILL a beautiful game
I know right 7 years later and the game is still fun
The Black Sheep and now it’s being remastered
Yeah bro it is
@@theAverageJoe25 not really - just repurposing for native pc capability as well as hdr and 60 fps. Halo 2 Anniversary is the gold standard of a full remaster...
keep up the nostalgia dude
+Westley Ward Reach sucks. Halo 4 is the best.
Go away buthurt 343 fan.
AwesomeGoldenGamers think it's a troll lol
Can't we just love all halo games?
Even Halo 5? :/
Remember Reach
Who knew remember reach would come to mean remember the game and when Halo was still amazing?
JR SmileyFace Never Forget

The one textured ball looks like it might be what they used for texturing the reflective surfaces.
Yes. That is correct.
Sweet
I don't understand xD Why should a ball be used to texture other stuff?
@@Mesferto Light map and reflection map, I think.
I still can't understand why these aren't in forge or simply drivable in campaign if they can be driven ?
Ian Blanchet ikr
Because it's still too fast for even forge world
Ian Blanchet cut content maybe, like intending to be able to hijack them in space using jetpack and break in but cut out last second
They probably had plans of it being a vehicle you can use in the campaign or somethin, maybe even had plans of using it for noble 6 to end up escaping reach instead of dying for a final mission, idk
Strudel Actually, it was left in the game to be coded
A lot of people say Halo 3 was the last great Halo, but I think Reach was, or at the very least a close second.
Halo 2 niqa
The Sith Halo 2 isn’t the “last” by any means
@@thesith7442 Halo 2 is pure garbage, nowhere near as good as 3 or even Reach
John Craven The fuck you say? Halo 2 is literally the only reason 3 exists so shut your sorry ass up and appreciate the nostalgia
We boarded and hopped off ths pelican very first try and also shot down the Seraph on the very first EMP shot. When we went to retrieve we flipped it onto ourselves and we all died lmao.

lmao be like le mow
Legit never actually got notifications for this lmao
Freezy Pop that’s not how you use the word karma
Probably one of the coolest Easter Eggs in video game history. Being able to fly and shoot what is essentially a set piece is pretty awesome.
Holy shit I thought this was from a couple years ago! very old fashioned style halo vid, love this shit
Many winters have past
@@alexjones8239 And still cold as hell in my state
14:14 when he flies it
Finally.
it's crazy that people are still playing this game after 7 years. I think that shows how much better bungi is at making games than 343
Isaiah Comfort yea because bungies latest games since halo have been amazing. Said no one ever
Isaiah Comfort *was, remember destiny exists
you can thank activision for fucking up bungies development of destiny
lol well yeah halo 1 - halo reach will always be GOAT because of bungie, now we got 343 making the halo games and they done fucked halo allll up
AWW come on, cut us some slack.better frame rateswould say better graphics, but only applies to models - not scenery/ground - - as it is easier to render the game on solid 60FPSBetter physics board/engineBetter partymodes(soon to be Halo Lounge/lobby)yes halo 3 and halo reach were probably better (story wise) but some people like to play games that allow them to "create" their own levels/maps and try to perfect them.H6 Reclaimation will be one hell of a treat for those who are on that level of creativity...
Huh, didn't know you would be able to fly these things. Possible cut content?
Anyways, this was quite the good tutorial! Glitch tutorial videos remind me of when Reach first came out, haha!
Probably just a re textured banshee so they could easily script it.
They made it because it's easier to use A.I then animate static objects.
Huragok more than a retexture. The vehicle feels like it's affected by gravity like being affected by its own momentum. It can also do unique flips. But this ones different in the sense it's affected by gravity. It's possible to get one in the space part that flies similar to the human equivalent. It even has quad fuel rod bombs with lock on.
Possibly cut PvP space content? That one level where you're flying around always seemed to stick out a bit too much to me.
Highly likely, I'm sure Bungie actually stated they wanted to add PvP space content, but it had to be cut to save time...
Watching this knowing that a couple of friends found hidden content through a series of game bending tricks and being able to enjoy the fruits of their labor in mcc is worlds beyond mind blowingly badass.
There was a wall there at the end of the video because the beginning beach area already deloaded. A way to avoid that is to get out of the map using the first pelican, avoid deloading the beginning, and PP a sereph. That way, there are not any BSP walls you hit other than the level barrier.
Don't you mean Long Night of Solace
TheLemonTree98 caught that too XDXDXD
TheLemonTree98 why not
Long night of failure?
TheLemonTree98 I would like but you have 117 likes
"Winter Contingency"
Tanya Beam I mean the plan was to destroy the super carrier which they did so the original mission wasn’t a failure
Bungie really shoulda added the seraph to forge or something. Even tho you never (properly) fly it in-game, it's still my favorite vehicle in Halo
@Cactusmanofdestiny yep. Forge in the MCC has Seraphs.
the cube and spheres are most likely there for references when making the game, they'd use the reflective sphere to help show where things would be reflective and use the texture cube for getting the right texture, as for the untextured sphere, maybe it's there for the same reason as the reflective one, combining the sphere and cube to see how it would work out and then putting it in, but that's just my guess.
Best way to enter small seraph: throw grenade directly at it while it is right side up. When it is in the air, run full speed and get under the light and hold X. You will either enter the seraph, or go flying backwards
Bungie revealed way back then that they'd had plans to include a multiplayer space battle mode, where the elites used seraphs and the spartans used the sabres. They probably had gotten far in developing how seraphs worked in gameplay before they scrapped it, and left the assets ij the game
Alex Denton117 Spartans can use both actually, it’s just that the elite can’t use the sabre.
MCC players: *"sometimes, my power, its scary"*
I was just thinking about this glitch or trick yesterday. I love these videos. They bring back good memories.
See I love all this hidden stuff in Reach, it really feels like a fitting end to the series.
Once Reach comes to PC I hope someone makes a Battlefront 2 style space battle game type using the Sabre, Seraph, Banshees, Longswords, etc. I hope Halo on PC has an amazingly huge modding community
Can you press y to switch firing modes? Like between plasma cannons/fuel rod guns? Awesome vid btw.
I've made some researches. Apparently you have to use a mode in order to be able to switch fire mode. If you're wondering, the second mode works identically to a Plasma Launcher with green charges that serves as a counterpart to the Sabre's homing missiles.
No
Sadly no
@@jasonrose6282 yes actually just not with this glitch
ruclips.net/video/4xIy5Lm4owk/видео.html
Wow. One of the coolest glitches i have ever seen in Halo. Thanks for this upload!
I think the spheres are quick access to reflective textures or scripts, you can just copy the script of a matte or glossy object and give it to a window or the like.
the reflective cube is used for the reflective effect off water or any other reflective surface. the solid probably does something similar.
To all the people who just randomly mess around and look around in all games, like every little thing, like I used to in school (while ago now, Don't have the time and patience always anymore) Don't ever let people tell you its a waste of time or just sad to waste so much time. It is because of people like you that the internet has things like this and crazy speed runs for us all to know and do.
P.S. Ooooh Cloud Graphics are so pretty.
oh man the nostalgias kickin' in hardcore with these videos thank you so much
The balls behind the map I believe is used for cube mapped reflections. Now this is just an educated guess from other games where as they would use several test balls with different materials varying amounts of shine to build art in games. Guess the devs left it behind as it didn't probably didn't effect frame rate on this first part of this mission.
And now ,we can fly a seraph in forge
love the lighting test spheres and the map box. Surprised they still have the boxes in their maps that was all the way back in halo 1.
God I remember using the pelican at the beginning and trying so many times. I got it to work once with a friend that I met on Reach, and one I haven't talked to since. A lot of memories.
8:19 "Teammate waiting to respawn (you're moving to fast)"... XD
Damn, can't believe this guy died yesterday, rip generalkid
When designing something, people often leave samples of textures in an easy place to copy and paste from. Sometimes in big projects tiny things that are used as tools can just be forgotten and left in because they are not visible. That is my guess as to what the orbs are. They don't have to be textures, they could have some other property that was used repeatedly when designing the map.
the balls are crater balls for creating the map and stuff
I was under the impression that 2 or 3 people on this channel were called general heed, but it turns out you just grew up kek
tobsmonster2 wtf are you on about
+Fintan Lehane watch his old videos
It was a joke bruh...
Walking dead reference: We are all General Heed...
But nah in all seriousness I used to have a lot more people help out with my videos, primarily with narrating them. However I was the one that filmed and uploaded all the videos, the channel did briefly swap owners a couple times, but it was only temporary.
Generalkidd I know what reference dat is. Oh BTW did you watch ep 11. Some crazy shit!
The easter eggs and secret vehicles are fucking amazing in Halo Reach.
The spheres are to test reflectiveness of an material. Imagine setting up a "Mud with water puddle" material, the only puddle would be reflective. Booth spheres have no texture, just reflection
Thanks for the tip Generalkidd
You can now spawn this on forge and a sabre too
I was watching this vid on CGI (Beginner Guide to CGI in Blender) and I noticed the dude, used a Cube and a shiny ball to help out with some stuff lighting stuff. I was suddenly reminded of this video.
I actually pulled this off back in the day, I just used the beach pelican to get out past the mountains to fire at the ships to get the mini one. I managed to get the large one too, but the skybox is full of invisible walls that insta kill you, so I didn't get to fly more than once.
Can't believe that 343i did an epic gamer moment and added the Seraph and Sabre to Forge. NGL, it makes me kind of sad to see all these tutorials become defunct.
ActaCaboose wait what, when and where ?
@@ovak2164 Watch it here: ruclips.net/video/v7SywM7bElg/видео.html
You played with it yet?
@@silverhusky7993 Not yet, as the only working version of Forge requires a controller, and I don't have a controller yet. But, from what I've seen from other people's videoes, the current in-game Seraph is very WIP and may be why the official release of Forge PC is being delayed so much.
Thanks for the nostalgia. Subbed.
Recommendations Brought Me here... Man halo Reach was a good time
Those balls help the lighting artists.
I thought this was a old video for a second but I need to try this
Did anyone else notice how beautiful the backdrop/ scenery that was atop the complex?
Seraphs look like mini phantoms XD
PLEASE DO MORE LONG VIDEOS I LOVE THEM
4:39 Kevin the cube was in halo reach all along. R.i.p Kevin
Damn it’s been a long time from seeing this, good memories
On forge world, if you go to the blood gulch area and go to the side with the water, in the distance there is a HUGE island that is textured, you can go there if you have a modded game mode, i can go and take you if you want it is sweet if you can jump the barriers you can even go to the halo ring texture
I remember watching a video like this year's back. Funny how time works.
Those are SFX spheres they modify environment lighting etc.
Super, super cool. Looks like they don't spawn infinitely though, because once you got the large Seraph down, only one Seraph ever flew over the base, instead of two.
+Lazer X7 Actually they do keep spawning. I've shot down 2 before, one after the other.
Huh, then extra cool. Keep it up man, love the original Halo lineup and its awesome to see people are still finding secrets in them.
I will never do this but it was a awesome video to watch, very good
I think the balls purpose is to have a place for the textures to load from, in a lot of games there will be sprites or images of textures hidden under or around the map it's normally used to save on loading time
Cool. I'm never doing this. Not just because it's physically impossible, but also because it's borderline impossible to find the help I would need to accomplish it. Also I have no patience for that. It's too random, too time-consuming, and not really worth it in the end.
But it's really cool to see that this is possible.
I swear this game has the hardest glitches
awesome, what a cool vehice too
bro I swear I saw this video as soon as it came out
-Fast forwarding at x2 speed
Spartan: *h h h h h h h h h h h h!!!!!*
If only there was a game mode that had these... Like space battle, plus if we could customize our own ship. I understand the xbox had it's limits, but with a emulator i'm sure someone will eventually make a mod for it.
I fucking miss these days.
Hands down the best halo
An un-textured cube. Pretty cool.
I hope when this comes to pc, the modding community will give us all this in forge.
the balls where there to test the reflection shader, the the blank ball was to test the ambient lighting .
I remember doing this, getting a full Seraph is difficult.
2021 now and we can simply spawn it in the mcc forge no glitches also im happy to see how much youve grown
well now you will be able to fly the seraph and the sabre in reach mcc pc without glitches
I like how bungie puts the little stuff in
It's crazy how in the script they made u able to fly a seraph but in the story u can't
i love halo reach it is one of my favorite halo games.
I wonder if it still works in the PC version of reach
That is long, convoluted and fucking awesome. I like Bungie because they left shit like this in the games, whether on purpose or not.
the only thing i hate about these revisited videos is even when the games were new and these glitches were something every on did I could never do a single one of these
the reflective ball is the sky ball. if you stand on it, youll see your feet in the sky.
Captain Planet
I Have to try this
I wonder if this vehicle was meant to be in a mission or gamemode at one point but was cut. I know at one time they planned on making boats for Reach as well so its possible
Reach was so amazing
That's how detailed bungi went.
Let´s make Reach great again.
Good old days.
dude it's fucking 11:40 pm and i'm drifting off and all of the sudden a trailer for the nun starts and it a fucking jumpscare fml
my left ear loves this
his audio only comes out of the left cup, you cant tell on speakers
Turns this video transparent with a map playing the Indiana Jones themes song.
Still remember when we did this glitch with my friends, god that was a long time ago
Smokin weed with General Kidd
And now we can fly around in Forge on two spaceships
Oh and by the way, you made a mistake in the description; You put Winter Contingency. Change it to Long night of solace.
Cool vid i never knew i can drive a seraph! Tnx
Seraphs look like flying energy swords
You are insane. well done
