Yeah I never could stand when everyone called Blu a trash phone just because of the name. They did unfortunately make some very bad phones in the past like the ones you found at Walmart for $40 dollars, but I agree that most people calling them all trash phones most likely never used any Blu devices. I've always tried to show the positive side to their phones.
I think the people who call them trash are the same people who are gonna throw away 2 grand on the next iPhone when it releases, knowing that it will become useless in 1 year when they release the next one after that.
@@thepioneer1525 I've never seen a $2,000 iPhone before. They're expensive but, they don't cost that much. My GF is a dedicated iPhone user but, she only upgrades every few years. Obviously, there are people that do update their devices every year whether it be Android or iphone. Still, if they're in financial shape to do that then that's their business.

Eaaaazy! You know what it is! I still have my Vivo 5 and you are right, It was definitely ahead of its time in 2016. The build,screen,usb-c charging and face unlock were all new and some phones didn't have these features. Thanks for the review and im gonna throw a sim in mine and use it for the day. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Eric this is a great series. Interesting stuff brother. Always tune in to your opinion pieces. Back in 2016 I wasn't into mobile phones, I was into devices like the N770 nokia internet tablet in 2006 but by 2009 I was out of devices. Came back heavy by 2018. Now the scene is pretty lame, need microSD for storage. Samsung pen is great, so I'm just doing old samsung phones, newest is note 10+, and im doing a bunch of samsung tablets. Maybe by 2027 these guys will pull their heads out of their and get back on track eh
I had loved that phone so much, but couldn't have gotten one. I was enthralled by it, and with it. It was and still is, one of my best phones of all time. Really loved the slimness of it. Wish they would make phones slim like it again.
Honestly, I've had good and bad experiences with that company. My favorite BLU phone was the G9 pro. It was a very beautiful design but, I didn't much care for the teardrop notch. I've even thought about picking one up again because they're affordable and I can put a custom ROM on it. It would serve as a great backup device.
@@TheTechPreacher you can say one thing about Samsung that you can't about one plus, budget Samsungs get Android 14 not all budget one plus devices get Android 14.
I'm sorry Eazy. For me, Blu definitely means trash. The software was awful in earlier devices up to that phone. Quality control wasn't good in several of those which eventually tarnished the brand's reputation. As a technician, those phones were always back in the workshop with a boot loop, cameras failing, apps not working, and the constant flashing of firmware to make them work again for a while. That improved when they started to use Qualcomm chips and Mediatek was also improving support. In my country, it got so bad that anything Chinese was always compared to a Blu until Xiaomi started shipping a ton of phones and basically flooding the market with better devices (right around when the quality of Blu phones improved and when they released the Bold sub-brand). That practically wiped them up from the market here. They're still around but not like before.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 and note 14 literally killed the market Redmi 3s prime and Redmi 4 selling at $120 was best phone already in 2016-2017 Blu had quality control issues
200 phones! Awesome I got up to 7 then started liquidating 😂 I just ordered my One Plus 12 and currently using my Motorola edge 2022 till it gets here and ordered my 5th pixel 6 😂😂 I just cant seem to get away from the pixel 6/6 pros. Im not a fan of the new design of pixels. Might have to order me a blu vivo 5 now 🙏🏻😎🎉

I've had good and bad experiences with their devices. However, I thought the G9 Pro was rather nice.

I have one too. Even have a new battery for it, but no one will take it apart as the display will crack lol.
Disassemble kit and a heat gun. Have fun
Did you see that on the 22nd of February Samsung is releasing a huge update to fix issues for the Samsung 24 series?
Yeah lol they was getting slammed for a dull display
I liked designs with bezels like on this phone. Reminded me of star trek or star wars
