An article in the General gave names to the five minor countries between Big Red and Great Blue: "The large country on Blue's eastern border is Yellow. Yellow shares the Great Koufax Desert with White, to the east. White, of course, borders Big Red - a distinction it shares with Black, to the south. The long, narrow country west of Black is Green, which is between the lake and the sea. The country in the center of the map is Brown."
Lots of joke names on the map. The Great Koufax Desert (which is very Sandy), Lake Pinsky (named after the designer Larry Pinsky), and River Zocchi (named after game designer Lou Zocchi).
1st Wargame I ever bought, from Children's Palace, in early 70's. Still have it. Yes they were pink and baby blue
This is one I haven't got a hold of yet. Looks fun.
This is a great old school Avalon Hill game. You're right it is one of the games that started it all.
Thanks man!

"...game with the cards" You might be thinking of Kriegspiel.
Nice video, John. A very cool game for it’s time! Cheers!
Thank you!
