It’s funny that he says he changed his name because Oscar Isaac (Guatemalan actor) said he did the same. He dropped his last name Hernandez and used his name and middle name Oscar Issac and started getting roles too. It’s sad that us Latinos are marginalized in the industry for our names and not our talents. I’m so proud to see these actors like JD Pardo & Oscar Isaac finally land big roles like Ex Machina, Star Wars, Mayans MC. They’re breaking barriers for upcoming and aspiring Latino actors. I will always always support my people. Love Mayans MC JD! Keep up the good work.

Kevin Murphy I know there’s more Latino actors out there my post was about the fact that he had to change his name. But I love that more Latino actors are getting bigger roles. Michael Peña is another that comes to mind.
Erik Auevedo Latinos are not innocent at all that JD couldn't even play a Hispanic character because other Latinos said he looks white.
Zack they didn’t reject him for being a white Latino they reject anyone who doesn’t look like a gangbanger. Oscar Isaac is darker than JD and he also said that all the Hispanic roles they offered him were for gangsters and thugs. Esai Morales has also said the same thing.

Latinos we work so hard for our parents to one day say how proud they are of us. I didn’t get to experience that 6 months before I was to be a first generation college graduate my mom passed away and it did not mean as much to me but happy he was able to hear those extremely impactful words. He is a great actor.
I have been told by so many people to watch Mayans MC. I have seen all SOA but to be honest, I wasn't interested in Mayans. I finally watched it, binge'd it all on Binge! Lol What an awesome cast of actors and show! I loved it. JD and Adelita are my faves in the show. My wallpaper and screensaver are now videos and pics of JD lol You should be so, so proud of yourself, I enjoyed watching this lil snippet of your journey. And have been watching all I can of you on youtube! I'm ashamed to say I didn't know any of your work before Mayans, you really do deserve all the recognition for your hard work and more!
