The Panchayati Raj Minister has made serious allegations in the Assembly regarding the state’s drinking water projects, accusing the previous government of major corruption. The Minister claimed that a contractor involved in the projects fled after allegedly misappropriating funds, highlighting a significant scam under the prior administration.
Out of 207 major drinking water projects initiated, only 16 have been completed so far. Meanwhile, work continues on 191 projects, with progress being made to meet upcoming deadlines. The government aims to complete 56 of these projects by March 2025, while an additional 54 are targeted for completion by the end of December 2025.
The state government has set an ambitious goal to finish all the mega drinking water projects by 2026, ensuring better water access for residents and addressing long-standing issues of water scarcity.
