I really like this format where you go deep in explaining your decision-making of what cards you played and what cards you did not play and why great content, keep on going!
I saw the faceup inking in a tournament in Orlando, Florida and added it into my play style. It helps me remember that I inked that turn without counting or needing a token. I just flip when I call to pass turn.
Yeah fairly sure it is quite illegal. You're not supposed to be even able to look into your own ink well. So if you mickey or heart of te fiti you not even allowed to see what it is
@@Silent1738 apples and oranges on the mickey and te fiti versus turn inking. As that gives the advantage of knowing what inked for knowing what you have remaining in the deck. Turn ink is public knowledge for that moment, turning it face down at the end of the turn doesn’t change anything.
I need to go through your channel more thoroughly when I get a chance, but have you built a villains deck? I’m trying to do something with Amber/Ruby and the Queen of Hearts giving an additional lore to all villains & Hades gaining a lore for all villains on your side of the board. I like this deck list btw, after completing my pirates & bounce tempo deck, I’ll take a look!
Villains is something I briefly tried, I did not use Amber / Ruby though. I actually used the filters on the Lorcana app first to see what ink colors had the most Villains at this point in the game. Amethyst has the most with 30, then Emerald and Ruby have 24. The 2 cards that actually give this ability of the bonus lore are in Amber with only 9 Villains total. I would love to see your deck but also would throw this idea out there. I don't have a deck list for it anymore, but I tried running the small 3/3 Amber Queen with Amethyst, and used Aggro with it. My thought was I am running aggro, I'm running merlin package for control, and if I get the Amber Queen, all of those Snakes and Foxes get a bonus lore...if I can quest with the Queen. It didn't seem to work too well, but I'm not great at building decks apparently.
@@patrickmcclain5692 I might try that later, the madam mim cards make Hades pretty useful bringing characters back. My deck unfortunately is too slow. I’m gonna keep tweaking it, but unless that queen is protected or if you can shift big amber Hades out quickly enough, everything dies to steel or get out quested. Will update asap but damn did it hurt the wallet haha
@@freddieheinz5721 I think you definitely use the smaller Hades at 4 cost, as he is a pretty good card. I don't see the big Hades as that useful though, it's a Shift 6 and even though it has great stats, it just comes really late, not sure its going to be needed. Then again it can be shifted on the smaller one, so it's possible.
How often was it that you saw the bare necessities turn 2? Its interesting for feedback cause most for steelsong i see, hold it for me to take the whole new world if they can time it in time or they ink it early. Even mufasa players as i saw last night tend not to use the bares early. So making me feel i guess that the mickey isn't as necessary/needed? Im sure it all depends what you're seeing. I havent tried the mickey out yet in my sapp steel personally just not finding the room uninkable wise and not really trying to go above the 16 uninkable count currently with it, even if one can afford it with fishbone. That just makes me feel reliant on the fishbone to help get me outta jams versus having it as a push. Thoughts?
My opponenents used it to remove quill every time even if I had AWNW in hand. Which makes sense as they were Steel Song decks so Wheel benefits them, better to discard quill.
I cannot find any report of the top decks for this tournament. Do you have any link/report? And which deck you find the most difficult for Sapphire/Steel?
Love the deck and gameplay! 56 card deck on use your brain is really convincing. It sucks extremely that this tournament made AI generated playmats, they look disgusting
I have a question, and i've to apologize for my bad sentences, because English isn't my primary language. Is it possible to insert in this kind of deck a 3x of Tamatoa, for more Lore possibiliy, or the deck is enough "heavy" without it?
@@AlphosNZI use mickey too, but so late game and loking for 1 card that i can have only one in my deck normaly don´t use. (Other Mickeys can already burn 1 Dime, or i already use with Fish) I understand but late game with Gaston and Brain i already know a lot of cards in my button and with AHNW my deck are small at that point. Maybe im too carefull for that deck ahah
Just curious, How are you able to play shift cards without the previous card needed? For example, you only have shift cogswoth, Gaston and Tink, but do not have their previous version to shift onto them? asking for a friend 👀
This is a completely new format so feedback is much appreciated
Yeah this was excellent
Love the format absolutely informative. Excited to see the results of the event and the decks that made it to top 4
Really enjoyed the new format. Keep ‘em coming.
Keep up the good work! Loved the energy and the detailed thoughts when reviewing

I love that "live on site" video if the camera from the top and
you as a commentator explaining your plays.
There was no commentary on-site unfortunately!
Love watching the live gameplay, great job!
Cool to see this and you commenting 👏👏 learning a lot of this

But is it going with the rules? I think it says you have to ink face down. So it's not really legal. I like it though

@@Jmay76this. It’s for turn inking specifically, not all inking.
same i sit top 32 table for 5rounds and finish with 4-2-2 and out. I believe next time we can be better!
we got this!!!
How did you fair against any Ruby/Sapphire decks you faced? Any strategies to set you up for the most success in that matchup?
Belle Dime is your key to win that matchup, it's our weakest one still

I've tested villians briefly but nothing felt good enough to make a video on! (yet)
@@AlphosNZ No worries 😉 I’ll write up my list here sometime if it’s half decent, thanks for the reply!

It does say in the QuickStart rules to reveal what you are inking :)
Yes, of course but it says to leave it face down afterwards, not face up.
@@AlphosNZ ah okay, i missed that it looked like the opponent also was sleeved side
It's an interesting way to remember whether you've inked that turn already. But as you said, I'd likely forget to flip it.

Where can we watch the rest of the tournament feature matches

I don't think they posted top 8 for some reason.
Amber/Steel was the most difficult matchup I faced due to bare necessities.

Deck's heavy enough without it! You could run 1 copy as a way to retreive discarded dimes but i'd rather just run 2 dime
In, the final game you digin for Dime, you are not afraid that Mickey burn that card?
You can't afford to play like that, it's just as likely that it's at the bottom of your deck.

By just paying their normal play cost not shift cost!
@@AlphosNZ Thank you! The Fam and I are new to the game and still trying to learn all the rules.
wait wait wait, dime gives you TOTAL LORE?! man i've been redeeming other cards cause i thought it was lore on card not final lore......
Just think of the lore on the card as it's base value but not the actual lore value which can change based on effects.
Can you show us what deck won?
I wasn't planning on doing a meta report as I didn't watch much of Day Two. I think the Top 8 would've been uploaded to mushu report or ink decks
looks like those playmats use AI stolen art sadly - otherwise great video! :)
yeah that really sucks to hear :/
