- John Mayall, known as the Godfather of British Blues, has passed away at the age of 90. He died peacefully in his California home on July 22, 2024, surrounded by loving family. Mayall was an influential blues-rock musician and formed the band John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, which included legendary artists like Eric Clapton, Mick Fleetwood, and Peter Green. His tireless efforts to educate, inspire, and entertain left a lasting impact on the world of music1. In April, he was announced as a 2024 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the musical influence award. Mayall’s legacy will continue to resonate through his music and the countless lives he touched.
