Loved your Betta tank. It's been over 50 years since I bred any when my largest spawning was 622 offspring. In those days the body size of bettas was much bigger but we didn't have them with such lovely finnage. Looks lovely.I enjoyed watching this thankyou. Ed
You should get some of the broader leaf varieties so he can rest on them if he wants. Just keep/grow it and inch from the surface and he will use it as a bed! Even getting some floating plants would be beneficial for him as they enjoy cover.
I'm in love with my betta. They are so cute with their little personalities lol. You should get one of those leaf hammocks, mine sleeps on it every single night! Great video! 💖
Jade Velazquez my betta only uses its hammock in the day time lol My friend gave me her old fish tank decorations with a bunch of hidey stuff but he never uses it!
Love this!! I keep mainly bettas and it's always great to see other aquarists taking proper care of them :) it's far too common that people stick them in those tiny cubes.
I had many years when I tried to save some bettas that I didnt like where they live (into) After I rescued them I always felt good (especially about the ones who I moved in bigger tanks.. cuz some of them were fine in a community tank. #Not2BettasTogheter)
Even though bettas can survive with just a tiny cubes doesn't mean they should, it just awful and sad to see them in such limited space and movement, even just 10-15 gallon would just be better
lynni mendelero if you live in a more tropical climate, like Jenny, then you don't need a heater. But she did say she has a heater but keeps it in the side where the filter is. I have this tank and that's where I keep my heater too so it's out of the way.
That's such a pretty betta and such a nice tank! I also have bettas and it's so nice to see people keeping them in properly sized homes! I love the driftwood look and I've been wanting to experiment with some for a while so you've inspired me to go hunting for some nice pieces.
I've got a male betta on his own w a gold mystery snail and 5 females in a community tank w guppies. They are so fun! Love your goldfish - it's always nice to see there are other people who love their fish as much as I do :)
I've been looking at getting a Betta when I move, so I keep watching videos like this. I love seeing all these informative videos with betta in larger tanks as opposed to the tiny bowls you see all over the place. (Also, I dig the cat footage. Kiss your kitty for me.)
Nice Jenny I too have gotten a dumbo half moon betta myself and I lost my black moor back in June, I miss her a lot but I have a butterfly black moor now but my recuse black moor will be in my heart.
Those plants look so nice on that driftwood! I was trying to think up different ways to decorate my Betta tanks and this is definitely a style I'll keep in mind
Beautiful tank and betta fish! Love the Dumbo ears and his coloration. I'm always amazed at how you keep everything so simple and clean yet it comes out like art.
It's so nice seeing you take care of different types of fish Jennie! I wish all kinds of fish could experience your love and care, haha. And I adore the tank! It looks very clean and sophisticated, especially with the new plants you ordered. I'm sure Arlo is having the time of his life in there. :) And I just ordered your 2017 calendar today! :D I'm so excited about it!

Ohhh, neat. I started my first aquarium back in May, and it was a betta tank (that now has some other residents as well). I planted it a few months ago and it's GROWING LIKE CRAZY now. I've got Anubias nana (regular size), Amazon Swords, and Java Ferns and they're starting to fill out the tank pretty well.
My beta passed away last year of old age... I just cried!!! I raised him when he was so little, like only 4mm.... I used to play with him. They're the cutest.... Good luck with him 😄😄
Add some Limnobium laevigatum to the Tank! It's a floating plant and very easy to keep and it grows like crazy! After a few days they build long roots, so the betta can hide between them. My betta loves this plant. Also it helps to keep the water parameters fine, so you have less problems with algae. Try it! Greetz from Germany, I Love your channel! 🐠🌾👌🏾
I had white substrate for awhile in my betta tank but changed it to river rock bc it always looked dirty. Looks more natural now. I love elephant Bettas!!
i really enjoy your videos and i wish i had stumbled upon your channel sooner when I did infact have goldfish. ive gained a lot of knowledge on their care and i do admit ive made some of those mistakes and now i feel really sad for my past fish. But i plan to get more fish soon and i feel much better about it after watching your videos. thank you again! :)
You should look into getting apistogrammas! Making a nice tannin aquarium with leaves and wood is so satisfying. I find most apistogrammas to also have a great personality.
My Betta fish named Abzu is just the cutest little guy ever! I'm sort of annoyed with a current outbreak of algae, but I'm planning on getting a few snails to help combat this. They can stand up to a little nipping, and they'll clean up stray food particles!
off topic, but you’re so pretty aha not many people can pull off your hair style, but it looks great and i couldn’t imagine you without it.much love from australia x
I'm so glad that you got a betta! I have two, Nightmare and Henry VIII, in separate tanks of course, and they are the the cutest little fish with such great personalities. They're little pigs too XD.
Looks beautiful Jennie. I also have all my fish in outdoor ponds now, and I'm really missing them inside. I keep two turtles indoors now which I love but I do miss seeing the fish swim. I might have to set up a smaller tank too some day :)
My only recommendation would be to add a couple solid hides. Bettas like having something they can duck into to hide in if they want; being too exposed can stress them out. And I'm not super familiar with Fluval tanks, but I'm guessing there's space for a heater in the filter unit? Hopefully you optimized that, since bettas prefer 78-80 degree water. But I love the elegance of this tank; simple but pretty, and the betta is super cute.
i have my newish oldish betta , pineapple pearls, got him from miejers for free because of how bad he was. hes in a 3 gal now (with filter and heater) ! happy and thriving !
I would suggest adding some larger, broader plants in with him. Will help him feel secure and mine love resting in between the leavers. Java ferns are super easy and low maintenance.
Wonder if it depends on the type of drift wood. Probably the temperature though? My driftwood in my goldfish tank hasn't ever had that weird sludge on it.
an apple snail will sort out the funk on ur wood. mine got really bad so i got a snail and it cleaned it all up in just a few days, did a great job on the algea too
You can use super glue brand gel to put the anubius on the wood which is much quicker than the fishing line. Just put a good dab on the wood where you want it and stick the rhizome part of the plant in the gel and hold for a bit till the glue turns white, it will set up even faster if you dunk it in the water. Just a little planters tip. Nice tank and betta.
For the algae problem you should try a nerite snail. My goldfish tank was getting over run with brown algae and it kept growing over my plants so i went to my lfs and purchased one onion nerite, 2 days later everything looked lovely again.... 3 yrs on i still have the same snail keeping my tank clean.
I'm not engaged, lol. It's a ruby and pearl ring that used to belong to my grandmother... kind of a family heirloom. I just wear it on that finger because that's most comfortable for me. :)
Do you know exactly what kind of driftwood that is? It looks a little like grape wood, which is one of the types of wood that is NOT suitable for underwater use, as it will rot. People use them for decorative purposes, or in desert reptile tanks where there isn't much humidity. Other types of wood that are suitable for underwater use are malaysian, mopani, manzanita, ghost wood and spider wood.
Jenny, I learn so much from you. I've kept bettas off an on over the years, mostly crown tails, but I LOVE your Dumbo! That's going to be my next one. And I'm intrigued by that tank. It looks like an all-in-one set up. Can you tell me more about it?

Love the dumbo Half moon.
Aquarium Co-Op Hi Cory! I love your videos and look forward to them everyday :)
Thanks for the kind words Matilda :)
Aquarium Co-Op hi Cory!
Aquarium Co-Op WTF Cory!

second this! Those beautiful fins get heavy, and sometimes if they don't have lots of places to rest they'll start fin biting!
The Betta fever is spreading haha
there is green stuff on the walls of my tank.
@@Emmatriaaa thats algae just wipe it of
Such a beautiful betta and a great sized tank!
Lifewithpets Hi can you tell me, if you have a filter pump or however do you say for that do you still need to chanfe water and clean aquarium?
With a filter you do still need to do water changes and clean your aquarium.
Lifewithpet
I'm in love with my betta. They are so cute with their little personalities lol. You should get one of those leaf hammocks, mine sleeps on it every single night! Great video! 💖
I have one of those leaf hammocks, but he doesn't use it. I wish he did, cause it's freakin cute!
Brittney Renae Nie znam tego języka :( Jaki on jest?
Jade Velazquez my betta only uses its hammock in the day time lol
My friend gave me her old fish tank decorations with a bunch of hidey stuff but he never uses it!

They need a heater so I dont love this

lynni mendelero she has a hidden heater.

Boil the wood for awhile and it should help kill off the white slime on the driftwood.
Rachel Samuel I’m sure she did
I've got a male betta on his own w a gold mystery snail and 5 females in a community tank w guppies. They are so fun! Love your goldfish - it's always nice to see there are other people who love their fish as much as I do :)
I like the simplicity of this layout, I think your betta does too. Anubia nana petite are wonderful mini plants.
I've been looking at getting a Betta when I move, so I keep watching videos like this. I love seeing all these informative videos with betta in larger tanks as opposed to the tiny bowls you see all over the place. (Also, I dig the cat footage. Kiss your kitty for me.)
I’ll bet you would have so much fun with plant life that Betta love, above in their habitat.
Such a lovely fish-- congrats !!
You have given me alot of help with my gold fish you know how to keep them alive, the music is awesome.......and your cat is so beautiful.

Nice job with the betta tank. Its simple and the plant choice does not take away from the betta itself. Looking good.

Could you tell us about the proper feeding schedule for bettas? what food and how much to feed them as well.
twice a day, 2 or 3 pellets. I feed omega one betta pellets. I like it because it floats haha.
Songyi Han thanks
I feed 3 pellets in the morning and night and mine is too healthy lol. Sorry for your loss tho. You sure he died cuz of food?
I agree with you, i feed my Betta 3 in the morning & at night, they say a Betta's stomach is as big as their eye.
Okay your cat is adorable.
Also loving how your nails, Betta, and cat all match. ❤️

love how gentle you are with your cat

My beta passed away last year of old age... I just cried!!! I raised him when he was so little, like only 4mm.... I used to play with him. They're the cutest.... Good luck with him 😄😄
Love the tank! Betta fish are tropical fish so a heater is needed if the water isn't 78-80 degrees!
where did you find the driftwood? I have been looking everywhere for a shape like this and I literally can NOT find one
This is one of my favorite aquariums! It fits perfect with the betta! :)
So glad your uploading videos as usually again 😬really enjoy them
Can you do a video with all your pets and fish ?
Loving the look on the Betta tank!
I am obsessed with dumbo bettas! I love your tank too.

I love the "I'm just gonna touch that" that cats do 😅😂
Great video, i have learned so much about goldfish from watching your videos.
Beautiful betta 🐠 💛 and adorable kitty 🐈💜
Nice tank :) Love nana petite. There's an even smaller anubias called pangolino that you can get too
The Dumbo betta fish is so pretty!
You should look into getting apistogrammas! Making a nice tannin aquarium with leaves and wood is so satisfying. I find most apistogrammas to also have a great personality.
Beautiful kitty! And beta. I love that you've got more than 1 type of fish now lol
Omg Jenni all your stuff is so nice and modern lol. Love your channel and pets btw 🐡🐊🐱
YAY YOU'RE CONTRIBUTING TO THE BETTA COMMUNITY!!!!
5:10 "They send extras so I CAN EAT THEM."
She says grimm. The cat.
I was more projecting human thoughts on Grimm.
Grimm like the plants . Haha
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. :D :D :D
Grimm is going vegetarian
My Betta fish named Abzu is just the cutest little guy ever! I'm sort of annoyed with a current outbreak of algae, but I'm planning on getting a few snails to help combat this. They can stand up to a little nipping, and they'll clean up stray food particles!
can you make more videos of bettas
Love how it came out, and your betta is gorgeous 😍
finally the beta is here😍😍😍😍...and i love the plants they are super cute😍😘😘😘😆
Love everything about your tank. Betta looms awesome.
off topic, but you’re so pretty aha not many people can pull off your hair style, but it looks great and i couldn’t imagine you without it.much love from australia x
I'm so glad that you got a betta! I have two, Nightmare and Henry VIII, in separate tanks of course, and they are the the cutest little fish with such great personalities. They're little pigs too XD.
Nice setup. You can also try Buce down the road if you want something a bit different vs Anubias.
My kitten does the same thing... Hits the stuff when I clean my aquarium where there outside lol
Wow what a lovely fish but I still miss not seeing your goldfish this week stay gold
Don't forget floating plants for your betta ^^
Now that is a pretty looking Betta!
cats do love boxes :) and a unboxing :)
Looks really cool! Might have to get some anubias nana petite nie
Lol I commented on this once you mentioned your betta before. Really neat tank!
Looks beautiful Jennie. I also have all my fish in outdoor ponds now, and I'm really missing them inside. I keep two turtles indoors now which I love but I do miss seeing the fish swim. I might have to set up a smaller tank too some day :)
Where did you get the gravel or sand? I don't know exactly what that is
I love that betta breeder, that's where I got my Koi Betta.
My only recommendation would be to add a couple solid hides. Bettas like having something they can duck into to hide in if they want; being too exposed can stress them out. Your betta is absolutely gorgeous! I'd love to see more videos from him! (I already watched the tank cleaning one ^^)
i have my newish oldish betta , pineapple pearls, got him from miejers for free because of how bad he was. hes in a 3 gal now (with filter and heater) ! happy and thriving !
New to your channel but so glad that I found you wow stunning Betta and tank set up.
What is in the cage beside the betta tank?
katie gibson she told us a couple videos back that it's a Leopard gecko tank, thumbs up if you want her to do a tour of her Leopard gecko tank😄😊👍
I would suggest adding some larger, broader plants in with him. Will help him feel secure and mine love resting in between the leavers. Java ferns are super easy and low maintenance.
Your cat made me laugh out loud with his constant curiosity boops
the cat touching the plant was the best part
Wonder if it depends on the type of drift wood. Probably the temperature though? My driftwood in my goldfish tank hasn't ever had that weird sludge on it.
Really nice tank and Betta!! I have one at work. Great video.
Where did you get your driftwood??
an apple snail will sort out the funk on ur wood. mine got really bad so i got a snail and it cleaned it all up in just a few days, did a great job on the algea too
In LOVE with this tank!!!!
Just wondering if you have the pump turned all the way down with the foam filter you have placed over the output. Thanks for your help
You can use super glue brand gel to put the anubius on the wood which is much quicker than the fishing line. I read that the Fluval Spec V glass thickness is only 1/4 inch ( 3.175mm). Is that thick enough to prevent cracks & leaks? Thanks.
WOAH did i just see a ring on that finger? Congrats!!!!
Derek C Oh i wonder😄😆
I'm not engaged, lol. It's a ruby and pearl ring that used to belong to my grandmother... kind of a family heirloom. I just wear it on that finger because that's most comfortable for me. :)
Grimm is really adorable.
where did you buy that beautiful wood? does he make dark water? Thanks for your video!
tank look great with the new plants cool better fish love the color
Does her tank include a filter & heating system? I wanna consider buying one later
definitely show us some updates on that those plants will look beautiful if they take and grow in
omg this means we have both started keeping bettas around the same time!
He is a fabulous looking betta 🤗
I am new to plants. Do you clean them or quarantine them before adding them to the tank?
What type of driftwood is it? Looks like really thin grapewood but I want to be sure.
Hello! I was wondering what kind of driftwood you are using for his tank?
What kind of food do you feed your bettas
Nice betta. I love the set up :)
where did you get the wood for this tank its beautiful
Your cat is the funniest.
Do you know exactly what kind of driftwood that is? It looks a little like grape wood, which is one of the types of wood that is NOT suitable for underwater use, as it will rot. Angellus Black same thing I was wondering!
Looked like spider wood to me
One time I was looking for driftwood and accidentally ordered grape wood lol
Jenny, I learn so much from you. I've kept bettas off an on over the years, mostly crown tails, but I LOVE your Dumbo! That's going to be my next one. And I'm intrigued by that tank. It looks like an all-in-one set up. Can you tell me more about it?
Could I just put moss balls on my 3.5 gallon fish tank for my betta?Would I have to do any extra stuff?
Would I have to change the way I do stuff if I get some live plants for my 3.5 gallon fish tank for my betta?
