Hi everyone hope you enjoyed that little edit! I also reviewed both cuts of Superman 2 on this channel, check it out here: ruclips.net/video/9-HC9lHXkT0/видео.html
as a 53 year old got emotonal and teary I was 7 December 1978 when Superman premiered saw it opening night with my parents no longer with me thank you for this tears of happy memories
I was 5 when i witnessed Superman 2 in the theater. I do remember it because i was SOOOO excited. My parents bought me everything Superman that year. Good times.
This IS The REAL national anthem. Especially because, of the extended play of the music. Wonderful job and a big shout out to John Williams for creating this. I love it ❤. There's no other way of putting it. Thank you for posting this.
I remember going to see the original Superman in the movies as a kid.. as a comic book fan I was amazed at how they were able to so realistically bring the character alive. Thank you Christopher Reeve Margot Kidder Marlon Brando and the rest of the cast, director Richard Donner, musical composer, and the the technical staff that made us believe that a man could fly!
Everytime I hear this any version of this theme, When I think of Superman or hear the words "The Man of Steel" I think of Christopher Reeve. He made me believe that a man not only could fly, but could be more than he is on the surface. Thank you Christopher Reeve for portray "Superman" and actually being a Super Man! Continue to sleep in peace, good sir.
If Richard Donner actually Finished The Movie 100% This would probably be The Theatrical Release For Superman II and this would be The Opening to the Movie of Superman II.
I think we can just acknowledge that Ken Thorne and his music for Superman II and III are criminally underrated. The LALA Land Record releases are a godsend as those soundtracks have finally been mixed so the richness of what Thorne crafted can be properly heard. But let’s not say anything silly here - John Williams is in a league of his own. Almost all of Thorne’s best bits are rearrangements of Williams’ themes, and he does some seriously clever, cool spins on the material. But the reason it is so epic is because it’s Williams’ genius from the start.
@@KalEl290 Completely agree, while reviewing S4 and Superman Returns on the channel I listened to those versions of the soundtrack by Alexander Courage and John Ottman, say what you will about the quality of those films but those scores are also great remixes of John Williams' themes and definitely worth a listen in isolation. I may also feature the original score and those by other composers in a future video -if WB don't block it! 😅
I was always put off by how awkward the first line of the movie was…. “You three criminals..” just sounds like the wrong way to start a great film. And changing the character of Ursa from a misanthropic serial killer (as she was portrayed in the comics also) to Krypton’s version of Eva Braun.
I own the theatrical cut but gave it up for Donner's Cut. Richard Lester just didn't get Superman in my view and there was always questions i didn't understand. Like how Superman Got his Powers back why was it his mother instead of his father. Once the Donner cut was released all of those questions were answered. Donner is the Superior Director he understood Superman as a character. The producers were idiots and didn't realize their mistake until years later. If they'd of stuck it out for Superman 2 we'd of gotten many more great Superman movies. Superman 2 The theatrical cut just has to many dumb scenes for just laughs. I prefer that Superman flies the nuke out into space and that being the reason why Zod is released from his prison. I like how Jor-El warns his son about love and that he has a Higher Calling. I love how even after Superman gives up his powers his father gives him forgiveness and allows him to regain his powers back.
Yes there's 2 i'm not happy with, I recall the transition with Superman 3's version of the score would've worked better but I didn't want to start using other versions! This first Ken Thorne score is quite unique in itself! Thanks for watching though👍

Ken Thorne Isolated Score Main Title
Nice. Looks like you took most of it from the Donner cut. Cool!
Yes most of it is Donner's, some of it is the theatrical cut that I felt was a better shot, such as the villains escape! 👍
This is a brilliant idea. No need to have a lengthy recap of the trial before the credits. Well done!
Literal goosebumps, walking down the street with this on my headphones and a smile like a cheshire cat

Christopher Reeves its look like in cartoon character, still # 1 Superman among them all.
REEVE, not Reeves
Superman: Thanks 😊
When I see this I laugh so much with the new versions of superman 😂
They don't make movies like this anymore 😢
Back when life and movies where amazing
That was 🔥!
I was six years old. The trailers assured us we would believe a man could fly. I did and still do.
I always thought the shot on 3.25 that Reeve flew for reals, Donner also said the same about that shot aswell.
Este es Superman 1 desde 1988 al 1992 ok

I acknowledge John Williams for his Superman Movie Theme...But Ken Thorne was the better composer for "Superman". Still is, to this day.

Your music sequencing isn't fluid. It jumps a few times. Good job though.

Why does the music from Superman 2 seem like it was recorded in someone’s bathroom? The difference in fidelity is jarring.
Probably a much reduced budget!
