When you realize how much power and how many capabilities you have in a package this size, it's really a pinch me moment. I've already used it for two weddings, and I can't believe how close it is to my Z9. Hope you enjoy yours!
Oh absolutely! This is truly a great value for any photo/video creator. I've been using it for my work this week and WOW!. But I do have a few honest critiques I plan to share in a future video. Thanks for watching!
Congrats on the Z6 III! You now understand why I skipped out on the Zf, while being a great camera with some Nikon and industry firsts, I surmised the Z6 III would have all of that and more. Nikon certainly delivered on this camera. Congrats again.
Funny, I got the Zf last Nov as kind of a holdover for the Z6III. But now, good luck prying the Zf out of my hands 😆 It’s an ideal daily carry, and second body to my Z8. But - I do still really want the Z6III as well. No rush but it’s on my list. I also think for your use case, 100% you made the right call 👍🏻 Can’t wait to hear more about this camera, your setup, etc.
I don't regret buying the Zf at all. At the end of the day, these are all creative tools for me. I was using the Z6III today at work and I'm so happy i picked it up. There are a few things I noticed already that I hope Nikon will address in future firmware upgrades. I'll make a video to share my thoughts. The AF and stabilization are realy good! Overall, it is a great value!
Nikon has fully fleshed out its full frame lineup with the Z9, Z8, ZF, and now the Z6III. I’m currently shooting with a Z8 and the original Z7 as a backup. I’m eyeing a Z6III as the perfect partner for the Z8 especially as I branch out into video.
As more real world testing gets into the mix it’s clear there’s very little practical DR difference between the 3 and the 2. Add in some current generation noise reduction and any minor differences disappear.
@@RobertSilverPhotography I haven't checked yet, but we are usually about 6 months behind. I don't need it till wedding season begins in Dec. I will try to buy it on Black Friday. Usually there are good deals.
I’m picking up a second Z6III body tomorrow and I’m beginning to wonder how often the Z9 will come out of the bag. There are times when you need the extra stills detail, but for video, 6k tends to be a lot more practical and these days I do a lot more video than I do stills.
If you think you'll be capturing video then the Z6III. I really enjoy the added phot/video feature of the Z6III. The XF is fun camera. But overall I would recommend the Z6III. You get more bang (feature) for your buck.
Great question! I noticed the lenses rack really well with the cameras that have stacked (or partially stacked, Z6III) sensors. There was a night-day difference in performance from the Zf to the Z8 or Z6III. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. The AF performance on the Z6III and Z* has been great. Of course, there is always room for AF improvement but I use these two cameras for my professional (paid) work proudly. 😀 The Nikkor lenses overall produce sharp, beautiful footage and smooth AF!
The Z8 most definitely. A fully stacked sensor, 8K, 4K/120, ProRes Raw (internal), and the form factor are great for building a video rig. BUT the Z6III is fantastic, perfect as a B-cam. Hope that helps. Of course, ill be making a follow-up video about my professional experience. I keep my Z9 exclusively for all of my professional still photo work. Thanks for watching!
Nice video man! This is what I think about the Z6iii, Nikon has a huge problem that they do not want to realize, they need to make a video first camera instead of the other way around. They already have too many great Photo cameras. My biggest issue with this camera or any camera with the same issue is the absence of dual video recording in professional camera in 2024? How doe no dual video recording make sense if want to use this camera for job that you cannot really re-shoot like a wedding for example? I think the s5iix is better camera for your money in 2024 if you want to use mainly as a video camera, and it does photo incredibly well, and you can adapt a ton of great EF lenses. I will skip this one! Hopefully they get it right with the Z7II.
To be honest, you make some really great points. BUT if you already own a Nikon Z camera (or lenses) this isa not a bad camera for a video e. Does it have everything, no. but its not a slouch either. It does sound like the S5IIx would be a better choice for you. To your point, i wish it had open gate, dual ISO, shutter angle, unlimited record time, etc. So i understand your point completely. Watch, in the future there video first camera will come from their RED Camera line. Thanks for watching!
Since you started drinking after the purchase 😅, I believe you got it under sound mind and no purchasing while under the influence was happening.. I have been guilty of this😂
No man, definitely it was AFTER the purchase. The camera and drink were great, lol! I just got into whiskey and cigar smoking and im loving it. Very relaxing with some good company. Getting into my grown-man hype, lol. Thanks for watching!
@@RobertSilverPhotography To be honest, I too am looking at trading in my Zf for the Z6III. Maybe I should get some liquid courage in me first too. Enjoy the camera and the new hobby!!!
Funny, i was going to comment on this as well. Anytime i make a large purchase like this, I always stop for a drink after the dust settles to rationalize my latest financial decision. Never fails me! 😂 I have my z6iii on order with local shop, also considered the zf but felt it would be a better second body for me down the road. Im not a professional, just a hobbiest who shoots my kids action sports and tournaments which can be long so ergonomics is helpful to me... When I get the call, hopefully soon, i will immediately head for a nice local pint! Cheers!
Using this beside my A9iii, without grip, it’s bigger than the Sony. Big enough as it needs to be. Beside the Plena and 70-180, I use the Sony lenses on it as I did with the z8/9. After selling those to downsize, the 6iii is the biggest one so far. Even though I want to just stick with the Sony and Om-1 ii, Nikon offers great unique lenses like the Plena as Sony with the 300 GM and the fact I can adapt those lenses with the megadap is great. I’ve always liked the Z ergonomics since the original Z6 so I guess that’s why I wanted the Z6iii
Awesome! I felt it was about the same size as my Lumix S5II. It's more travel frinely than the Z8 and has got some many features. Ill be sharing my longterm review of the camera in the future. Thanks for watching!
Bro, you change cameras more than underwear 😂….seriously, I tried the Zf for a week and knew that the Z6iii would be a much better buy. I passed on it TBH, don’t need the hipster retro look. 😂
Yes, indeed LOL! Im shameless. These are tools and if better tools become available that help me produce better work for my job and paid clients, why not? Seriously, I dont spend my money on much of anything. Ive got 5-8 year old jeans, a regular car... my money goes to my photo/video gear. A guilty pleasure, you caught me LMAO 🤣
Was this about the Gold Bar or about the Z6III?? Respectfully, you show the booz but not a single sample of vid, still image or anything else? Not cool brother 😂 But gave you a courtesy like anyway. Peace
LoL, got cha! No for real, I wanted to share some reasons why I sold my ZF and bought the Z6III. This was not suppose to be a review by any means since I just bought the camera - it wouldn't be an honest review. I just happen to be at the gold bar and was having a great weekend. If I didnt make it then I wouldn't havent gotten to the video for a couple of more days. But the drinks were great thought ,lol. It never hurst to shouit out a local small business :) Thanks for watching!
@@RobertSilverPhotography Thanks for taking the time. No biggie, keep up the good work. BTW, I know that bar, I used to live in Freemont and was hanging out int he San Fco Bay area frequently.
I saw those posts about the dynamic range. To be honest, I want to use the camera a bit more, under diverse conditions, before I give my honest opinion. So far, zero complaints.

How has the auto focus been in comparison to sony?

Right on! You get my reasoning but I did have with the Zf. In the long run, this camera enhances my creative workflow. Thanks a lot, Wayne!

The Z6III is the perfect b-cam (partner) for my Z8. Features, size, durability. I barely use my Z9 anymore, lol.
I've had mine about 5 days and am loooving it so far.
Awesome, welcome to the club!
Great review Robert. Nikon has made quite the comeback over the last 3 years. Regards, Gil
Thanks Gil, appreciate it!
I wanted that Zf so bad but I think I have to forgo that and get this beast! Enjoy, I can’t wait to see you create more content this Z 6 III!
If you're looking to create photo/video camera, this camera is a no brainer.
Great video Robert! Super informative!! Hope you are well brother!
Thank you so much!
I love mine so far! What's your take on the "poor dynamic range" stories gaining traction?
Im loving my experience with it too. Happy with my purchase 💯

Congrats. Can't wait for it to come to philippines
Is there a release date for the Philippines yet?

what did u use to record the video? looks clean and has beautiful contrast
I sued the DJI Pocket 3 to record this video.

I cant argue with the logic. I own the Z6III, Z8 & Z9 and I've used the Z9, by far, the least.
As a sports shooter, my Z9 is mated to my 400mm. Now I’m trying to figure out if I should get a Z8 for my 70-200 or another Z6III.
Looking for an everyday family camera that could also handle some light editorial photo work. Would you go Zf or Z6iii?

yes, indeed!
I don't know much about nikon camreas but how are their lenses for video AF? DO they rack smoothly like sony lenses?

Just sold my lovely Canon R6 M2 and for the Z
Wow, how do you feel about the transition?
If you could only have one, is it the Z8 or Z6iii?
Z8 is much bigger, but it has a traditional non-flip out screen. The overall power on, AF response is even better on the Z6III. Z8 has more pixels.
