    Hi...I have successfully upgraded my PDX 2000 :). Works very nice. Really thanks for your info. The chip I used is from a vci 100, could not get cheap ics from utcsource and it's the same. :). The pitch resolution increased a little bit from 0.07 BPM to 0.05bpm increments (Pitchfader)

    GREAT!!! Ive seen many of your post in the internet regarding crossfaders and mods. This is really great. Im "retro-retrofitting" :D a pdx 2000 into an pdx a2 painted cherry red. It looks great but the motor is just too weak. Maybe ill do the mod later. Really thanks for all your contributions on the internet. :D

    Wow man, you did it again!!!
    What would it take to get a display readout?
    Have you looked at the C1 microcontroller and data sheet? Is there a chance you could add the additional options the C1 has?? Major, minor, sharp flat etc??
    I’m curious since the C1 allows you to program it in the fly and save pitch values programmed to buttons, how is that achieved? Just multiple Chips?
    I have a C1, if I can help w pics or anything ever lmk
    Legendary work bro 🤙

      Yeah I really wanna look inside the C1, I have no idea how it relates to the other vestax turntables... I'll hit you up when I'm in the USA next year :)

    Hi there, fantastic idea and execution, love the project. Thanks for such a great and comprehensive video. I have a few notes/questions, but no need to respond unless you think it'd be interesting for others.
    Can you still program the mcu after assigning the debug pin a regular serial function? Or do you need to remove the mcu and pop it into your rom programming fixture?
    I think you are making the chip swap unnecessarily difficult for yourself by using regular solder. There are low temp bismuth bearing solder wires and pastes which makes large sma package reworks a total breeze and takes most of the risk out of it. Not even sure if you'd need to mask off the rest of the board for it. That could definitely lower the barrier to entry for a big rework job like this.
    Love the video, looking forward to more cool projects like this one. Thanks a bunch.

    What an astounding mod and video! I loved every bit of this video!
    You seem to know a lot about turntables and their inner workings, and that makes me want to ask you this question: Do you think you can help me figure out how to fix my Gemini PDT-6000? The "key adjustment" fader doesn't work at all, no matter how much you slide it or which pitch range has been selected. This is immensely frustrating, considering the fact that I purchased this turntable for that specific function.

    • @TheRasteri
      @TheRasteri  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate! you sure you have the PDT in "LINE" mode at the back? It can't do the fancy key stuff in PHONO mode

    At the risk of asking an incredibly stupid question, how can I tell whether my 2000 is a Mk1 or a Mk2? I've got a white one that i bought from eBay a few years ago in less than stellar condition that I'd be happy to send up if it's the model you're after (and assuming you haven't already got one)

    Great Video... So much knowledge on Vestax turntables. Do you know if the Vestax PDX A2 MkII Replacement Tonearm would fit and work on my Vestax pdx-2000mk2 turntable? I really wish I could find a Vestax pdx-2000mk2 Pro turntable which has the anti-skip tonearm or to be able to find the tonearm from the pdx-2000mk2 pro and install it on my pdx-2000mk2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    uhh...just one question :). What is the pitch resolution of the pdx 3000 in BPM ? :) (i mean the steps in BPM when moving the pitchfader) . its like in the pdx2k or better. I think for long mixes that sucks :) . Thats the only thing that has stopped me between the twelves and the pdx.

    • @TheRasteri
      @TheRasteri  3 года назад +1

      I'm not sure, I know the PDX3000 has updated motor control but I don't know if the pitch resolution was changed. I guess you could try upgrading it and see :)
