this shouldve been a bigger debate than the “we were on a break” thing
"We've never locked it since 1995." - season 5 Chandler 😆
My phonology teacher introduced her intonation class with this. Gotta love her
Did your teacher say whether or not if was definite that Monica asked? Just curious. I always thought she stated "got the keys." until I heard this particular clip where it does sound like she does ask "got the keys?". (I was looking it up because of a facebook discussion and realized i may have been wrong aha
BigSchmill she definitely asked
Monica should’ve said “GET the keys”
Lies again? Keys To House
Lmaoo Chandler just literaly burst in and it was unlocked
That's because they were there of course.
*Rachel:* Got the keys.
*Monica:* Got the keys?
Joako Fan Monica should’ve said “GET the keys”
Maybe "got the keys" will be their always
Get the keys would've been better to understand
Monica should’ve said “GET the keys”
Then it wouldn't be funny.
Bada Bing888 who said the scene had to be funny?
SuperJackster01 well it’s comedy. If they didn’t say something which could be misunderstood it wouldn’t be funny. Do I really have to spell it out?
Bada Bing888 I understand it’s a comedy. But not every scene has to have humor in it. If you constantly have jokes, gags, humor, and other funny stuff in every scene, the viewer would get sick of it and not find it funny
@@superjackster0165 it's not just a joke it sets the rest of the episode in motion.
I use this joke all the time. My housemate never laughs at it.
I’m an ELICOS Teacher in Australia. I showed this clip to my students so they can have a better understanding of intonation. Most of the Colombian students had seen this episode but said it was Spanish dubbed.
I’m surprised that joey had the keys , a time before they made joey completely stupid
The world's best friends show❤️
Should've kicked the door down. They didn't, and everybody lost. It's not like they haven't kicked it down before...
Rachel’s hair is amazing
It seems like the only time the door gets locked is Thanksgiving 😂
The real question is: Who locked it?
It's auto-lock
She pulled the door and it locked from inside. Like the kinda thing that snaps shut.
But it wasn't autolock when Chandler came in 😂
While learning English, I realized something. There is something wonderful in English, it's called "subject". If you can use subject, there will no misunderstanding thing. For example "I" or "you, we, they". "I got the keys" or "you get the keys" or "Can you take the keys?"
Don't be lazy.
Sorry my english.
In 10 seasons no one ever used a key when walking in…
Except that time when Monica locked them outside
Omg my mother thought the apartment was real in real life 😂❤
In retrospect, it was completely Rachel's fault
Ur literally on something if u think that to be true
Its both of thier fault
Monica Should've told Rachel to "GET the Keys"
honestly got agree with rach on this one. monica should have said "get the keys" or "do you have the keys?"
Plus if Monica was asking a question she actually never got a yes or no answer from Rachel so she shouldn’t have assumed Rachel had the keys.
@@trinsims7666she said okay
So if neither of them had the keys how did the door get locked?
Some doors, especially in apartment buildings, lock on a latch when you shut the door. You need the key to open from the outside but not from the inside. It's hard to explain without being able to visualise it.
@@HughMiller98 they go in and out of the apartments hundreds of times without the door locking so why this time
@@darian6149 Because sitcom comedy.
@@darian6149That’s what always bothered me about this episode. It’s one of those things that the writers just throw out of their asses for the sake of a plot without any regard for continuity. In every episode that came before and after this one, the characters could walk into the apartment with no problem at all. In this same episode, Chandler walks in with no problem. Why is it that they now suddenly need the keys to open the door?
Got the Keys- Moncia Bing
Okay- Rachel Geller
She say you got the Keys- Me
TheBandit025 god damnit I’m on season 6.
It's Monica Geller not Monica bing
Also Rachel greene
@@sreelakshmiramadas2392 thier married bro
The part where Rachel turns with her ski's and hits Joey in the head 😂 that's like really old classic comedy 😊
I'd say this was more Monica's fault, she should have said...Get the keys vs Got the keys, which sounded like Monica was telling Rachel, she has the keys, but then again, it could sound like Monica was asking Rachel..Got the keys. The part where Rachel hits Joey with the skies, reminded me of Three's company when Cindy Snow would always hit Jack or whoever by accident, with some object, lol.
Rachel has always been the calus one. 🙄
Ahh.. have anyone noticed the thumbnail..?
It was rachel who lost keys
Sounds more like you got the keys ??
in british english is a perfect joke: Have you GOT THE KEYS?... but they're american
If Monica say "get the keys", Rachel would've understand what to do. It's all Monica's fault
What episodes are these???
episode 8 S1
@@davidmr7106 nope
That's the problem with english!🤷♀️😂
More i watch old episode more I hate the FRIENDS there is 0 continuity to the story.
Then just f*k off don't watch it
That was all Monica's fault. The way she said it sounded like a statement more than a question.
It's so clear that she was asking
def not.
@@neptunians she was clearly asking if Rachel saw her face when Monica said got the keys she would know it was a question rather than a statement but right at that time Rachel looks down.
Rachel was right
